Do we care about things like "color" vs. "colour"? I changed it when I added the apostrophe, but I can leave those things alone in the future if it doesn't matter. -- bcstingg (talkcontribs) 17:50, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

the name says it all[edit]

is it just me or did the name and the head of the staff remind anyone of the game portal? (hint: The Orange Box)--User Raph Sig.pngRaph Talky 22:38, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

No, can't say it does. — Eloc 01:29, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
hmm, maybe its just me......though it could just be because i really enjoy the orange box :P--User Raph Sig.pngRaph Talky 22:31, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I can see the blue portal in the top, but i dont see what the rest of it has to do with Portal...--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Dr.Ted (talk).

I think it's just a random generic name. — Eloc 01:51, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

hmmmm...now that ive had a better look at it, i, really cant see the similarities either.......--User Raph Sig.pngRaph Talky 12:17, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

I like the skin of the staff but it's too damn small Odin the King 20:48, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, the portal is the blue part, I guess. I would call it a mini scrying pool staff or something, though you wave it around a lot so you'll need some magic on the water ;). This isn't my favorite skin, but it's in the upper half or more, plus the last like five decent Elementalist staves I've found have been these, so I'm usin' em a lot :). --Star Weaver 21:08, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

I totaly thought of that when I read the title. The blue part does look sort of like a portal, although not like the ones from the game.--Tuss 18:16, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

Anomaly[edit]

Interesting little bug, I thought: The portal staff on my Ele, despite the damage type being listed as cold, seems to deal chaos damage, or at the least has the appearance of dealing chaos damage (sparkly purple orb and whatnot). Anyone else come across this? Redorath 01:43, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Partial Confirmation[edit]

Portal Staff of Shelter Q10E-Storage gold cold dmg 11-22 E+10 AR+7 vs Physical HSR%20 DMG+%14 vs Hexed Val 292 gold taken from TreasureChest (not-locked) in Nightfallen Jahai exhibits same apparent chaos effect. Does anyone know how to test the damage type? The screenshot also shows another anomaly that i have been experiencing since the last game update. In NM non-bosses are often useing Elites. I have several screenshots of this across 3 accounts each useing their own gw.dat/exe's. What brought it to my attention was that elsewhere I was commenting/complaining about the nerf to double dragon and then i noticed non-bosses useing it against me. A 3rd anomaly occured in Sorrow's Furnace which made things very difficult when i was expecting normalcy. My char, Jora(hero) and her pet were all enchanted with Life Attunement. As Jora and pet were my only Tanks and I was relying on them for damage and Conjure Flame on myself for ADDITIONAL damage, this really made my day. no h/h nor myself even had LA equipped. on the off chance that it was an 'ally' that cast it i chked wiki but apparently not. The screenie i took of this also demonstrates that i am outside of compass range of ANY npc, i also checked energy lvls to see who was maintaining it but also a no-go. It REMAINED on until i exited the furnace. Any USEFUL comments on this? 22.01.12 ~~>H2L --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.64.66.214 (talk) at 20:47, 22 January 2012 (UTC).

uhm I'll answer the relevant question, the how to test damage type?, didn't you say it was cold damage? --you like that don't you..The Holy Dragons 21:17, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
