Should we add[edit]

Should we add :

  • Profession-Specific Quest
  • Attribute Quest
  • Master Difficulty Quest

Just a thought but Profession-Specific Quest and Skill quest are barely the same...?? (Odin Son of Barr 13:08, 18 April 2007 (EDT))

  • Finally forget this thought cause Primary Profession Quest does not really exist their should be call Profession Trainer quest cause their give specific quest to the player else other are just secondary quest ? I am a bit lost in those definition lol

(Odin Son of Barr 13:17, 18 April 2007 (EDT)) With some thinking i see it more like this and you ?

  • Primary Quest
  • Secondary Quest
    • Secondary Profession Quest
    • Skill Quest
    • Attribute Quest
    • Master Difficulty Quest
  • Mission

Repeatable quests should be in Note cause it's not a spicific class of quest only something you can do again and again like mission... (Odin Son of Barr 07:22, 19 April 2007 (EDT))

Here are some quests that are not noted:

  • Event quests: Available only during some events. They even have own section in the quest log.
  • Travel quests: Secondary quests needed to travel from one region to another. Making one to travel to a region makes the other unavailable. You can, for example, travel from Tyria to Cantha and then from Cantha to Elona, instead of making both quests from Tyria.

Master difficulty are just harder secondary quests.MithranArkanere 20:08, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Question: Is there a way to quickly share with teammates which quests you have? Like some kind of Ctrl+Click? Or do you have to type all the names out manually? --Redscull 18:08, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Solo quests[edit]

The only solo quest/mission i can think of is the battle with the doppelganger in Prophecies...is there any others? Mechu95 18:19, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Still needs editing[edit]

I'm tired... but I think it needs another restructure. Just so that it can also list the kinds of rewards you can get. Gold/items/skills/attributes/heroes. And I gotta see about repeatable quests too... I'll work on it tommorrow. (Terra Xin 16:15, 18 March 2009 (UTC))

And because festival quests technically fall under secondary quests... great... (Terra Xin 16:17, 18 March 2009 (UTC))
And a reference to missions for primary quests... I'm going to bed now. :) (Terra Xin 16:18, 18 March 2009 (UTC))

Zaishen Quests[edit]

With the 4th Anniversary update, there should be a Zaishen Quest section. Batchie 18:58, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Rewrite tag and Star Weaver's edit[edit]

Was there any discussion regarding the changes Star Weaver made? It looks like he's basically re-written the article completely. Which versions do people prefer? Biscuits User Biscuits sig.png 13:56, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Nope, I just started working on the notes and got carried away. (Yay boredom). I'm thinking of taking a look over this version and seeing about tightening rambly bits and stuff. I'm not sure what backsword's point number two even means really, I don't see how this is formatting guideline information? Need to look into that more. I don't think I agree with point one, too; helping newbies is good, and should be a part of it or the start of it, but as a whole it should document what "quest" means, not just be "intro to questing". I think. I'm'a gonna go have some coffee now before I try to think too hard. :) --Star Weaver 16:19, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Most of the stuff Backsword says makes no sense xD. But he does have a point in this case - I think I preferred the old article to your rewritten article so it definitely needs a rethink if it's not going to get reverted. :) Biscuits User Biscuits sig.png 22:34, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

That helpful little arrow.[edit]

I mean the green arrow/star that appears on your compass when you have a quest active. There should be an option to turn it off. I like it when video games don't give you specific direction, but rather tell you where to go through dialogue and have you figure the rest out for yourself. I'd like to see this in Guild Wars. Aldarik 23:43, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

There is an way to turn it off. Complete the quest. When I am playing and complete an active quest, the arrow/star combo goes away until I select another quest. 69.182.188.118 14:04, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

That helpful little arrow. (part 2)[edit]

The game calls it, and I have in game chat as well, a green exclamation mark. However, if you get right up on the NPCs, it is actually a green arrow, pointing down at the NPC. Look at it from many angles. 69.182.188.118 14:07, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Did some further investigation. Jon, my apoligies, you were right, partially. However, I was also right, partially. It is a green exclamation marker at the giving of the quest. But, the quest mid-points NPCs marker IS a green arrow. 69.182.188.118 14:13, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Total Number[edit]

So..... does anyone know the total number of quests in this game?Nibelhim 20:27, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

I want to know as well. You could find out by counting all the quests in all categories, but I'm not doing that. There's probably a very effective way to count the total quests with some kind of Wiki script or tool. 216.185.250.92 19:26, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

list by xp reward?[edit]

why isn't there a quests by xp reward and money reward?-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 17:16, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Currently, there are only categories: Category:High XP Reward and Category:Rewards Platinum. --Silver Edge 17:20, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Recieving Rewards and abandoning[edit]

So I've noticed that when I reach the person who both gives the quest and reward, I can abandon the quest and the option to receive the reward stays available. If I were to click "accept" would I receive the reward? Would the npc give me the quest again? --173.66.133.47 17:04, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

--No (unless its repeatable) --Falconeye 16:39, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

Secondary quests and beyond[edit]

Currently, we have all GW Beyond quests classified as secondaries. However, if we consider WiK+HotN and WoC as campaigns, then shouldn't we classify their storyline-quests as primary? e.g. to unlock Miku, you have to complete the primary quests of WoC. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 02:25, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Does the game classify them as primary quests in the quest log? --Silver Edge 03:31, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
That's a fair point: WoC quests are (annoyingly) listed alongside regular quests. Specific WiK/HotN quests are also treated this way. The WiK umbrella quests, however, are listed as primary.
Primary quest lists two criteria:
  1. They are listed as such in the log.
  2. They are required to advance the storyline.
It makes sense that we would restrict the classification to technically primary quests, but I think it would be more helpful to use a broader definition. Also, ANet is inconsistent: if Ebon Vanguard Allies is a primary quest, why shouldn't we consider its constituent quests as primary, too? e.g. why isn't BLA or Mustering a Response considered primary? – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 04:49, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Special "Icon" for Account-only quests?[edit]

Tagging Spirit of the Celebration and Zenjal's quests may be helpful. --71.160.93.144 18:19, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Standardizing quest sections for item and NPC pages[edit]

Is there a standard for this? I have been trying to update info on quests and NPCs as I play and I have seen just the quest name, the name and region, the name and campaign and all three. Gauss Roth (talk) 19:27, 24 January 2019 (UTC)
