Talk:Raid on Kaineng Center

This quest is bugged for me.[edit]

In the Hard Mode version of the quest, I am unable to trigger the waves that are supposed to breach the Dock Gate.

I've waited for 20+ minutes, after clearing the mobs that entered through the Front Gate, and nothing has come. I may have killed the enemies too quickly, since I was camping their spawn point... be warned. Raid on Kaineng Center broken.jpg The Black Leech 12:21, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Yeah +1 this is confirmed. Waited 15mins also and nothing I come here to see if anyone else was having similar problem Ace Loves It

Same here. Also camped their spawn point. --Thervold 23:31, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Horatio Caine[edit]

they put in Horatio Caine references ._. 72.136.65.30
Awesome, isn't it? I laughed. 86.91.68.168 07:58, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Love how the guardsman puts the dark shades on when saying the references. 188.238.59.6 19:31, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Was real? I was wondering if I was dreaming when I saw guard with sunglasses.--NeHoMaR User NeHoMaR sig.jpg 02:23, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
I was watching closely, and didn't see any glasses. someone trolling us? File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 00:11, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
I saw the sunglasses too. Maybe they don't appear on some graphics settings. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 00:36, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
On the one hand, the Caine-meme is probably the most likely source. But that type of bad pun has a long history in film noir and pulp fiction. Without the sunglasses (or some other connection to Caruso, Caine, or CSI:Miami), I'm inclined to rephrase the trivia note as, "the puns are like the ones Caine uses" rather than the current text. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 00:40, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
Qao Lin doesn't wear sunglasses during this quest. I see no evidence for this trivia and think it should be removed. -- User Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 03:04, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
The glasses only appear during the punchline. Then they disappear... to go back on for the second one, and disappear again. They exist. The cake is a lie, not the glasses. Konig/talk 03:44, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
I think they're post processing effects - I've not seen them on any of my characters (I have everything BUT pp switched to on/highest settings) File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 13:19, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
I just played with post-process effects turned on and stared at the character as he said his puns. No glasses. I've removed the line from the trivia section, but can't remember the (now empty) trivia section as a whole because it thinks I'm a vandal. Ejstacey (talk) 02:23, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
The glasses appeared in the dialogue box. Maybe not on the NPC himself though (likely a trick where Anet hid a second NPC within the walls and used that for the dialogue - similar to what's done with the Kieran missions and the BMP stuff since in those missions using the PC for the dialogue box would result in the PC's actual appearance and not Kieran, Turai, Togo, etc.). I remember seeing them. Konig 20:55, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
Sweet, thanks for the info. I just played it again and got a screenshot as it happened, for proof. http://imgur.com/7XYbveq Ejstacey (talk) 00:36, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

White Mantle[edit]

Really? Can anybody verify that there are White Mantle in this quest? --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 07:23, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

They're part of the previous quest, and i'm pretty sure I saw a few peacekeepers. --JonTheMon 14:20, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
They are. They (mostly?) come from the Front Gate, alongside stone summit, peacekeepers, and Am Fah. Konig/talk 15:37, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
Alright... I'll keep attempting the quest to see if I find any White Mantle so I can get their builds. While we're on the subject, has anybody seen any White Mantle during the following quest, There Goes the Neighborhood? --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 03:41, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

Tips for this quest[edit]

Someone could suggest me some tips for this quest (i was using the 7heroes build on pvx)? 93.146.145.88 11:19, 19 February 2012 (UTC)

You'll want panic and a minion master. Collect all the canthan guardsmen + get them following you. Don't talk to them for the rest of the mission + they just follow you around kicking ass.
Head for the main gate once you have the guardsmen. Interrupt the demolitionists to get a morale boost (its a spell so heroes have no problem rupting with power drain)
Stand in the area where the henchmen would be in Kaineng center - try to avoid going past the gate since the teleportation boundary will mean your canthan guards can't melee. Micro panic onto Am Fah AND Jade Brotherhood elementalists - they're pretty overpowered, but harmless with rupts.
Keep fighting until the line "Those fiends! They've brought reinforcements by sea! Move some of our men to the northwest to defend the gate leading to Bejunkan Pier! That gate won't hold long!" - then move back to the starting position. Head north from there and briefly attack the incoming wave, defeat half of them/release minions onto them and then head back to the palace gate. Micro panic on the incoming wave of peacekeepers and gang members + kill them all. Turn around + kill the rest of the dock wave.
Repeat the process of engaging minions with the Dock wave, turning around and microing panic + wiping the main gate wave + cleanup until you see the two boss waves.
Basically repeat the previous process, except get your heroes spiking Reisen the Phoenix - arcane conundrum, technobabble on adjacent foes (to daze the boss), and Save Yourselves are good things to bring - he can easily kill your group with spirit rift and an elementalist aoe skill. Apep unending night is a pushover by comparison.
With enough spirits and minions, you can wipe in hard mode and rez by the palace gate + not fail :P (I wiped twice in Hm) File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 11:41, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
Ty it works :D 93.146.145.88 13:59, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
I did something similar, but I didn't wipe at all in HM. I took all the guards during the 2nd part of the mission, and I set them all at top and placed a single SoS and Shadowsong in front of them, then I took my heroes and held off the other gate. It prevented me from being overwhelmed. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 98.210.147.120 (talk) at 09:42, 5 March 2012 (UTC).
The only possible disadvantage to that is that the npcs stop where they are once they kill the foes, meaning you can get them spreading further and further towards the docks :> File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 20:20, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

I did this quest on hard mode by standing near start point with all guards following me, skill ebon battle standard of honor did a good work here, making guards cause realy big dmg on enemies--Braxis 18:24, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
