Can the Superior version of these drop anywhere that gold armors drop?Morbid Mordecai 10:54, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

I have only noticed them drop from high end areas or Hard Mode (For example after the desert in proph). Shireen 22:15, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

I've found one from Margonite Tunic during mission Jennurs horde on normal mode. Gunm 11:43, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

I have had a Superior rune drop in a gold armour drop from one of the chests in Sorrow's Furnace. Elvynd Asailight 19:33, 26 Janruary 2009 (UTC)

I've found one from a Naga Vambrace drop in nomal mode near (but not from)Ssaresh Rattler in the Maishang Hills.
Salvaged one today off a Kournan Bracer dropped by a Kournan Guard in Consulate Docks mission (normal mode). This is the earliest point in any campaign that I've received one (I've had one other, from somewhere in the Realm of Torment if I remember correctly).
I have also gotten the Superior Rune from a Kournan Spaulder from a Kournan Bowman in Consulate Docks today (in one of the last groups, so a level 20 one most likely). A very pleasant surprise! -- ᴥ GreyGhost (talk!) ᴥ 07:38, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

The Minor Rune of Vitae does only +10 Health and DOES STACK. I am not certain if the others stack or not. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:166.82.48.89 (talk).

Yes, you are right the Rune of Vitae (there are no minor/major/superior vitaes) provides +10 hp and does stack, but not a minor Rune of Vigor.--Wyn's Talk page Wyn 05:12, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

So, if I have a rune of vitae and a Superior rune of vigor on a set of armor, do i get both bonuses? -- UglyLooking 01:31, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes because it's a stacking bonus. A non-stacking bonus will not stack with another non-stacking bonus but a stacking bonus used with a non-stacking bonus will stack. (Like using a headgear piece with a superior rune to receive +4 to attribute) 89.242.181.143 07:27, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Wait, I don't get it. You can only have ONE rune attach to an armor right? You can't have both rune of vitae AND rune of vigor on ONE set... can you? Stop The Killin, 5 Febuary 2009 (UTC)

No, you can have five runes per set, one per piece, so you could have one vigor and up to four vitae. Backsword 12:48, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

41??[edit]

Why is it forty-ONE? Anyone thinking this could be a typo in the code? It would be more logical to have 30,40,50, or not? 79.75.120.191 14:10, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

I would have to say "Or not," my assumption being that it is representing diminishing returns for the additional HP. 67.186.22.130 18:24, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, 41 is pretty odd. Who knows why ANet chose this...
It's just fun to have 521 health instead of boring old 520. PonyUser talk:Pony Slaystation X 22:33, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
Odd, but that one hp saved my life for a bunch of times--Graahk 10:16, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Rather an in-joke than a typo in my opinion, they would have fixed a typo easily.

Trader[edit]

The rune trader seems to only buy one of these per character (at an extremely good price), then forever after will refuse to buy anymore. Bug? ... 111.69.12.2 16:17, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

Perhaps your rune is the version from the quest. As such traders will not accept it in trade. --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 16:23, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
I've gotten them all from salvaging armor; i don't think i've ever even done a quest which gives a rune as a reward. --111.69.12.2 06:07, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
I've never had any trouble buying or selling these from the rune trader. If you are repeatedly salvaging and unable to sell (even after waiting a few minutes or an hour), then you are seeing something different from anyone I know and I recommend that you report this to support, since they will need to take a look at your specific account to understand what is going on. (You could report this at the official forums, but based on the details above, I'm sure that they will ask you to create a ticket anyway.) Good luck. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 07:31, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
I am actually having this same issue, I traded it to a side account and sold it to the trader no problem Anth the warrior 00:17, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
@Anth: you are saying that the rune trader will not accept any Vigor Runes from you ever? Do you get a message of any kind? Have you tried wasting 16Gold by adding one to a hero and removing it? Have you tried IDing it first and then selling? Is it happening to all of your characters (on that first account), or only the ones from Nightfall?
I would be happy to try troubleshooting this with you, but if you are convinced it's a bug, I recommend that you, too, create a support ticket. Since it doesn't appear to be common (I've never seen anyone in my guild report this issue...and there are some serious farmers who depend on selling runes). Thus, if it's a bug, the QA team is going to have to look at your specific account to find out why your vigor runes are being treated differently. (In fact, I would recommend that you give them both account names and a time that you were unable to sell a vigor off of Account A, but could do so with Account B — that will allow them to compare the specific transactions for a specific item, which should speed up their work considerably.)
Good luck and please keep us posted if you learn anything. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:37, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
