Talk:Special Treats Week

Name[edit]

I moved this from "Seasonal Treats Weekend" because "Special Treats" is being used in the articles and the announcement says special. It can always be moved back later, (I liked seasonal better, it had more bite to it but seasonal could mean winter summer etc and special is the word used). Again?[edit]

I wonder if this will go off again this year :) --BramStoker (talk, contribs) 15:43, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

I hope so :)Dbdghost 22:56, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Yes again, message in the panel right-side of the login panel. --Inflame 19:53, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

Bug?[edit]

It says Special Treats are dropped in Tyria but I still got Pumpkin slice from Shiro.85.131.20.202 00:25, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Tyria can also refer to the entire world. There's the land of Tyria which includes EotN and Prophecies areas, and then the entire world is also referred to as Tyria. --Link4all 04:17, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Shiro offered you some pie? At least you know it was "well sliced". (while smiling, try to call the CDC before he notices.) -- Cybertronian 141.225.195.166 01:41, 2 May 2009 (UTC).

I believe you can get them in any campaign: "So, be on the alert in all three lands during the next several days, for you may find means to acquire samples of the latest FOBB confections or beverages. If past harvest convention fare is any indicator, these tasty treats are sure to please." --76.179.97.55 22:06, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

Which week?[edit]

What weeks was it placed in? The page doesn't say when, only the year. Paddymew 12:04, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

I believe it coencides with American Thanksgiving Merchant
Thanks, I guess I wasn't on GW that weekend ^^ Paddymew 16:20, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
This page is pretty useless, not giving dates. American Thanksgiving is fourth Thursday in November. Ramei Arashi 04:35, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

2009?[edit]

Is this going to happen this year? Wynterarwynrose 18:14, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Yes, it's been listed as an annual event. You can expect it next your as well. :3 Magic User Magic Icon.jpg Talk 23:23, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Verification[edit]

The 10 Pie/Cider drops were introduced in 2010 after the Halloween 2010 scheme to boost GvG activity BEFORE the 2011 zaishen strongboxes were introduced. The initial ToT bag drops was the only one changed from 50 to 10 due to destructive economical effects amplified by the presence of bots. Festive drops in GvG for events after which have always remained at 10. ZencowUser Ox rider Sig.png 00:17, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

2012?[edit]

ahh the age of FaceSpace and Twits and MyBook... why the login screen message was too hard to update i dunno especially since some ppl (not many) are kinda anti-social (networx)72.64.0.25 22:34, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Is there something on those pages that says anything about the weekend? It seems that in years past the drops started before Thanksgiving, but I see no announcement, main page or otherwise and I don't seem to be getting any treat drops... 187.115.225.242 23:45, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

There was an update and the event is now appearing on the login screen announcements (it didn't appear there two hours ago). It states that the event started on 21 November at 20:00 UTC; although, I'm not sure if there was actually any drops before the game update and the change to the login screen announcement. --Silver Edge 00:05, 22 November 2012 (UTC)

I can say, with extreme confidence, there was not. The update also said it prepared for the drops, suggesting there were none before it. It happened about 5 minutes after my question, too. 187.115.225.242 00:22, 22 November 2012 (UTC)

Weekend events mentions their FB page but unlike many i don't use FB. They said a while back the weekend events would be annouced there but i'm not sure if that happens regularly or not. At least we got a login screen announcement well before the event has started every previous year >.< 72.64.0.25 01:14, 22 November 2012 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I'm farming Luminous Stones for Nicholas the Traveler and it appears the drops have ended early just as I had predicted. The login screen announcement stated that the event was suppose to end at 07:59, 27 November 2012 (UTC), but killed at least 23 Mandragors in one Arkjok Ward run (based on my inventory having 23 items picked up as drops; counting each Luminous Stone and Mandragor Root individually) and didn't have one Hard Apple Cider nor Slice of Pumpkin Pie drop. --Silver Edge 23:37, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
