His build[edit]

Does Stefan really have nine skills now? I'm a little miffed on Balanced Stance being there, but he's always had it. ~Seef II <|۞> 21:57, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

He uses Sprint before Dragons Lair and afterwards he uses Skull Crack instead of sprint, so in a way he does but he will only use 8 skills because henchmen are limited to 8 just like normal players. Simzy User Truesimzy mysig.jpg 21:59, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

His Ascalon Academy version still has power attack. Justice 05:41, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

I am currently trying to get Tyrian Vanquisher and used Stefan both in Old Ascalon and Eastern Frontier, had never seen him using "Watch Yourself!", Galrath Slash nor Savage Slash. Since this is Hard Mode, he does however use Sprint. This is his build on these two areas I had visited so far:

Possible, considering there were henchmen skill bar changes in some updates, and especially when melee henchmen aren't exactly popular enough for people to take note of the skill bar changes. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 14:27, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
Would this research do to change the main page skill listing?

Since you did research, I'm not going to argue. Just make the change and let whoever is concerned about it bring it up against you :) -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 15:35, 17 June 2012 (UTC)

Revisioning Skills and Evaluations[edit]

Originaly states that Sprint is changed to "Charge!", the first skill is from Strength and the elite is from Tactics, but it is nowhere stated nor questioned if his given attributes changes as well.

List of revisions involved in this page since its creation:

  1. Revision as of 14:11, 1 June 2007 by 24.111.81.108

  7. Revision as of 07:52, 23 October 2009 by Batchie
  8. Revision as of 13:04, 13 June 2012 by Yoshida Keiji

Analisis:

  1. Revision: Made Stefan go from Warrior to Elementalist and then to Mesmer, finally copied from GuildWiki.
  2. Revision: First Evaluation: Balanced fighter.
  3. Revision: Evaluation gets Pros & Cons (2 edits by same user).
  4. Revision: Gives Attributes at lvl.20 = Tactics 12-13 (based on "Charge!"?).
  5. Revision: Evalution is changed from Balanced fighter to Aggresive and includes IMS behavior. At that time he still had Griffon's Sweep and Power Attack but the main page had no Strength Attribute (messed up build? = Power Attack +10dmg only?).
  6. Revision: Skills are changed due to Game updates/20091022, as well at his Evaluations, of course. But Attributes... were unchanged. Griffon's Sweep changed for Galrath Slash (an energy attack for an adrenaline attack), also it's supposed to change Power Attack with Savage Slash (to gain a rupt?) which clearly didn't happen (ANet fail).
  7. Revision: Adds Swordsmanship 12...based on what? It also adds a mistaken Evaluation note for "Cons".
  8. Revision: Removes mistaken Evaluation 3 years later.
Observations:[edit]

The overall evalution's text should be changed to his "real" build, same for specifics in Pros and Cons. Attributes cannot be confirmed (imo), so will be removed. His skill list shall be changed after more observations in later areas after Ascalon. User Yoshida Keiji Signature.jpg Yoshida Keiji talk 15:29, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

Don't check it in that area since build in the early areas just have an elite added into their builds in HM. The build he uses at lvl 20 is the same as the one he got during the update. If he's using different build before lvl 20 add those skill and mention them that he uses them before lvl 20 but do not remove those skills he uses at lvl 20 assuming he doesn't have them at all. Finally someone shows up like Ab.er.RANT said. This topic has been uncontested since 2009 November 8th. I wish you were slightly faster to reply, that would have avoided information conflict. Thanks. User Yoshida Keiji Signature.jpg Yoshida Keiji talk 11:43, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
Well iv'e updated his skil list with what i have observed, i hope that's enough to clear the misunderstanding about his build. Da Mystic Reaper 11:53, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

Whereabouts[edit]

I think we need to mention that he mysteriously disappears in the southern shiverpeaks and you hear at the end that he was apparently mixed up in some drunken shennanigans with who I could only assume was Kilroy (since they were screaming their names and punching stuff). Might be worth noting in the lore or something. Nay the One and Only 16:22, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

True, but i think it needs spoiler alert then- and to the comments above (in "His build") Mabey Stefan is in ZoS? XD(yes i know he changes skills, but he does tecnicly have 9 skills all the same)--Neil2250 , The Zoologist User Neil2250 sig icon5.jpg 16:26, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

New template for henchmen builds[edit]

Really an awesome job. I have once ago proposed a mini-project Talk:Henchman#Builds.2C_Efficiency.2C_Project.2C_Feedbacks_and_a_Challenge, I think the three of us could make good use of a check-list to combine our efforts across all henchmen. User Yoshida Keiji Signature.jpg Yoshida Keiji talk 07:49, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

I feel like the one issue that could arise is the lack of visible skill names. I propose my solution here. To avoid really long skill listings, they are collapsible. Thoughts? Aqua (talk) 17:23, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
Looks pretty nice, my only concern would be that clicking on the [Hide]/[Show] button would be less intuitive than hovering over the icon :D -Chieftain Alex 20:00, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
There was some resistance when I suggested switching to unlabeled skill bars earlier, even when you could still hover... On another note, I'm not entirely sure how to implement attributes in a way that still works on low resolutions without making it look horrible. (Attribute names can get pretty long, but using a system of acronyms (i.e. Domination Magic → DOM, Strength → STR, etc.) might not be intuitive either.) Aqua (talk) 20:14, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
Here we go (I also fixed that awkward double border for you Alex.) Any issues with this? Aqua (talk) 02:48, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
Even more updates to it. Attributes now supported. Unfortunately, the way I coded a couple things makes it function in annoying ways sometimes. I use variables for the skills that aren't present in all bars, which works fine until you try to use the template more than once on a single page. You can see in my sandbox what happens when you try to use it more than once. That being said, its probably better to optimize these templates for Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, etc. just because the amount of coding for each varies significantly (Prophecies has a max of 4 bars, Nightfall has a max of 7). I've switched my old variable system (sk11) to a new one (sk11p) so that NPCs from different campaigns can make use of several different tables (you can use the Prophecies Table with the Nightfall Table if you need to). (If you have a better solution in mind, feel free to let me know.)
There is also a minor issue regarding the fact that we do not know the attribute levels that most henchmen have; some research is required in that respect. It is ready for deployment for Prophecies henchmen, Factions and Nightfall are coming soon I guess. Aqua (talk) 05:50, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
Last update of the evening (err... morning): attributes scale with level, not with build, so how do we want to incorporate that into the template I've designed? I don't really want to copy the bar for several lines whenever a henchie gains an attribute point, but I'm not really sure how else to do that? Aqua (talk) 06:03, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
New update: provided that you name the tags appropriately, you can use as many copies of this as you want on a page... Aqua (talk) 14:03, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

Baruch?[edit]

So, I admit that the henchmen never got very much story dedicated to them. Stefan and crew got supplanted by Devona and friends at Glint's Lair, and we never really saw them again until the new Prophecies epilogue. I was just wondering where his last name came from? Did we only learn it in in Guild Wars 2, or was there some reference to it in the original series of games? --Rognik (talk) 22:51, 20 September 2017 (UTC)
