The strategy headline needs more edtiting. I.E. "shoot"=use a bow to pull?User Xxx Corn Xxx sig.pngXxx Corn Xxx 22:45, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Dryder and Darkness are also capatalized in random areas...Is a strategy headline valid on a boss page?User Xxx Corn Xxx sig.pngXxx Corn Xxx 22:48, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Strategy page is sloppily put together, should be considered for deletion. Minor spelling errors and false capitilizations fixed.User Xxx Corn Xxx sig.pngXxx Corn Xxx 22:53, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
I think its safe to leave the strategy page alone. It should be find just so long as it relates to the article. --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 22:58, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Then I'd better start sprucing it up. I'm not all that familiar with the area under debate so I can't edit some of the things that are REALLY bugging me (like the stairs 1).User Xxx Corn Xxx sig.pngXxx Corn Xxx 23:00, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Ok I edited it a little and it looks a litle better, but I still feel it needs a little more help.User Xxx Corn Xxx sig.pngXxx Corn Xxx 23:08, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

WTF[edit]

What happened???? There used to be page exclusively for Darknesses in Tombs only – User Barinthus Magical Compass.png Barinthus 17:31, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

Factions Version[edit]

Why are Factions ones even on this page? Do we actually have evidence that they uses same skillbar or that they do drop same greens as those in the Tombs? – User Barinthus Magical Compass.png Barinthus 17:33, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

I have created all the actor pages, this one is at The Darkness (actor) the article info needs to be moved accordingly. Fall 13:50, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
Much better! – User Barinthus Magical Compass.png Barinthus 19:28, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Trivia[edit]

In Greek mythology, there were some spirits of the (greek) Underworld called the Keres, also known as the Darknesses. Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keres_(Greek_mythology) Too wild of a speculation, or can there be something here? KazDoran 23:27, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

No drops..[edit]

Just killed The Darkness (all three of them) and didn't get a single drop. I used to B/P this dungeon when that was popular and I got a drop every time. Is this a bug, or are these like any normal foe and just have a drop rate pool and if you're in the pool, you get a prize? [edit] didn't sign in--Oh Noes 23:13, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

"They each drop zero to two unique items from a pool of 15." (emphasis mine) You just got unlucky. Toraen 23:49, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
It's not like the greens are that good anyway. Sit in ae1 and I'm sure you can wtb some. Also its not really a dungeon?--Nataliexxx 23:53, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
Did you go with a pug or heroes? The drops may have just been assigned to heroes.--User Pyron Sy sig.png Pyron Sy 00:35, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
I went with a full party in HM, just extremely unlucky run I guess.--Oh Noes, Ritualist Extraordinaire 02:13, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
Still not really seeing the point of this. You did one run and didn't see one of the greens drop from the boss? So you had a terribad drop rate for a run. The point of it is?--Nataliexxx 19:45, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Non-green Drops[edit]

I edited the text in the header slightly to clarify that they don't only drop greens. I just did ToPK for the first time and was dissapointed to find myself with 2 whites and a blue when this page suggested they either dropped greens or nothing. 109.151.89.145 12:35, 4 November 2011 (UTC)

To my knowledge, do not all bosses drop a higher number of items than regular foes? Why is the note necessary? Kyubiko 05:05, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
If I've understood correctly most bosses drop 0-2 items (in my experience normally a trophy and a weapon or 2 trophies), and only have one possible green drop. Whereas the Darknesses drop 0-3 and have 15 possible green drops. So in theory they could each drop 3 different greens. 109.149.145.64 11:04, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
Bosses have been seen dropping up to 5 items, I'm pretty sure, although that is rare. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 16:45, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
I've seen up to four total items drop, including double-greens. These bosses seem more likely to drop greens (probably in lieu of a reward chest), so it's more likely to see them drop multiples. I think the note is unnecessary. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 02:42, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
I've never once encountered a boss who dropped more than 2 drops outside special drop events (in which any creature can drop an additional drop) and the Darknesses (which I have always and only observed dropping up to 4). The times bosses drop fewer things, I'm sure is due to heroes or henchmen being present and stealing drops, or going out solo and having that anti-farming code thingie kick in. But I have never seen numbers other than that which cannot be explained by stolen drops. I'd love to find out which boss drops five items even outside festival drops. Konig/talk 03:30, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
do you mean "more than one assigned to the same person?" e.g. during Nick farming, The Pain Eater/Skill Eater sometimes dropped two skull jujus for one person, cash, and a scroll...which I count as four drops. IIRC, they also once dropped three jujus and cash. When a boss drops ~200 (or ~300) gold, I would count that as two (or three) drops. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 03:48, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
I've gotten 4 drops a fair number of times. Including this drop: User Manifold Lucky Drop.jpg I saw a thread on Guru where people were posting pictures of 5 drops from a boss, not including holiday drops. I can't find it though. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 04:02, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
@TEF: I meant overall. And with your Eater example... Did you make sure they weren't from both bosses (that is, four drops from each boss, or two from each equating four)? Because four drops is very much new to me.
@Mani: I haven't been to Sorrow's (or other green dropping from bosses elite areas) in a while, but it couldn't surprise me if they use the same coding as the Harnesses (same goes with old Urgoz/Kanaxai before they had chests) so that the entire team had a chance at the "better" uniques. Konig/talk 04:24, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I meant per boss (iirc, we got 7 drops between the two on one occasion) And I didn't have to "make sure" because they didn't die at the same time; the chat text was self-evident. As it turns out, just visited Raven's Point and Reaper on L1 dropped four things: elite tome, scroll, a blue item, and cash. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 09:12, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Hmm, was this all in nm or hm? I'm referring mainly to nm, and I've never experienced more than two drops by a boss other than the Darkness in nm, but don't go boss hunting enough in hm to make a remembrance, and its possible drops from bosses act akin to no-key chests - doubled in hm. Konig/talk 10:38, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

Actually, I don't remember for Pain/Skill Eaters b/c we farmed in both modes. The recent Raven's Point visit was HM. I believe I've seen 3+ drops in nm, but ... I'm not prepared to bet on it. (Plus, your suggested mechanic sounds plausible.) I'll keep an eye peeled (and screenshots ready). – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 13:26, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
Well I can now confirm at least 3 non-festival drops are possible from one boss. This was in HM and solo of course: http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b168/aurorel/3Drops.jpg That's the most I remember seeing, but it matches the Darknesses, so maybe the note can be changed to focus on just the unusual number of greens they can drop? 109.158.13.76 11:20, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
As a confirming example: during Raisu Palace (HM), we saw Silent Ancient Onata drops 4 Soul Stones, which...Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:26, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
