"Gyges" (pronounced 'guy-jeez') is from the story of the Ring of Gyges as retold in Plato's Republic. "Amun Ra" is an honorific form of Ra, who was the Egyption sun god. I'm also not a big fan of the iconic dervish hoods, but really love the distinctive appearance of the Vabbian headpiece, which reminds me as something belonging to an Arabian prince.
