Description[edit]
Climates are similar to environmental effects on the target foe, but have a duration and a range. They cannot be removed until their duration expires which is both dangerous to the targets, and in the cases of some Climate skills, dangerous for the caster as it can result in detrimental effects which cannot be halted. Visually, Climates form around three times the average height of a human and also change what the target sees, much like consumables do if it applies to them. Effects vary from darkening the screen to a certain colour to creating a dense fog.
Summary[edit]
- Duration: Discerned by the skill
- Range: (From the target's initial location) 2/3 spirit range
- Visual effect: varies
- Regardless of the climate's skill name, foes only see the name of the storm that has been created and is named in the skill description. e.g. Rains of Torment creates a storm of Torment and comes up on the foe's screen as Torment.
Behaviour with other skills and attributes (these examples are used for the whole line of skills when it comes to their behaviour)[edit]
- Climates are not affected by Spawning Power as they are not spirits. This also means that skills that are triggered on the summoning of a spirit do not activite from Climates.
- The end of a Climate does not trigger Soul Reaping, nor does it trigger Mysticism. The activation time is affected by Fast Casting, the activation cost isn't affected by Expertise, and the completion of conjuring a Climate isn't affected by Leadership.
- Backfire does not trigger, but Visions of Regret does.
- Ether Renewal does not count a climate as an Enchantment. Shatter Delusions does not count a climate as a Hex.
- Cry of Frustration can interrupt climates, as can anything that interrupts actions and skills.
- Chants that activate upon skills being used do not activate on completion of Climates.
