User talk:Chriskang
Hello, Chriskang, and welcome to the Official Guild Wars Wiki! If you need help with anything, don't hesitate to add a message to my talk page. I highly recommend that you check out the "Welcome to the wiki" page - it's extremely useful as an initial guide. Best of luck and happy editing!
Show preview[edit]
If you are also 84.16.226.75.:
The "Show preview"-button is your friend, use it! ;) -- (CoRrRan / talk) 12:45, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the hint. And sorry for disturbing your precious "Recent changes" page :-) Chriskang 84.16.226.75 09:29, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Luxon Box[edit]
Have you considered using
This user is a member of the Luxon alliance but doesn't care about the Alliances. |
? Just type {{Template:User Luxon2}} to get it.--§ Eloc § 08:53, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yes i've seen those premade userboxes but most of them don't fit exactly what i want. I find most boxes too dark (i want my page to be very bright) and the icon on the luxon one is too small. That's why i choosed to create new ones. Could it be a problem on the wiki if i don't use premade templates? (like server overload or things like that) Chriskang 84.16.226.75 09:29, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
GWEN skill image uploads[edit]
Hi, I saw you uploading some of the GWEN skills. I know how to get them out of the gw.dat but how do you know which icon is for which skill? poke | talk 13:27, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

- Oh, thanks ;) poke | talk 13:45, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- And just in cas someone is curious, the skill descriptions come from gw.dat too. File to look at is : #130436 with the current build. Chriskang 15:07, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- Are you using Texmod to browse the Gw.dat or some other program? --Santax (talk · contribs) 15:12, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- I'm using GwDatBrowser. You should find it easily on google. Chriskang 15:16, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- Where did you download yours from? I ask because I know there are several versions of that program circulating with a Trojan. --Santax (talk · contribs) 15:30, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- If you fear viruses, the source version (for visual studio 2005) is available here : http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?t=1645&start=120
- Otherwise, a compiled version (.EXE) is somewhere before this post in the same thread and doesn't contains trojans (that's the one i'm using and both avast & norton say it's safe). Chriskang 15:41, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- Lol, I'm still not convinced that this should be allowed, I just transcribed the dialogue from what appears to be the ending cinematic from GW:EN... with the current build it's #142605 through #142627 :P --Santax (talk · contribs) 17:01, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- Gaile said here that Anet has no problem with this. Chriskang 23:08, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- I'm looking at those #'s, but all I see is random numbers and letters I don't understand...Using GWDatBrowser_02. 99.245.143.39 07:19, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

(reset indent) Does anybody have a link to the latest version of the executable? The source dosnt do me any good :( also, does anyone know which version of the .net frame work is needed? --Lou-Saydus 00:15, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- Just look at the link I gave above. The executable is somewhere in this thread. The file is called "GWDatBrowser_02.rar". Chriskang 00:25, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Not yet implemented content[edit]
If you're going to create articles for things not yet live for in-game play, could you tag them with {{future feature}}? Thanks. (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 23:18, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- Oops, completely forgot this tag. Thanks to remind me. Chriskang 23:47, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
O RLY?[edit]
Hah, there are some nice icons hiding about in Gw.dat! The one for BAMPH ! is pretty funny too. Just leaving this comment to give you a note about Gw.dat format - the No seems to relate to how recently you encountered something. At #151750 for me, 9 files away from the last, there is a picture of the birthday present icon, and then directly after that, there's a miniature Jade Armour icon. Yesterday I opened my birthday present for my Mezzy and it was a mini Jade. Then further towards the end, there's the icons of drops I got while adventuring in the Shiverpeaks. Just a little note. Oh, and also, something seems to be up with the icon for "I am unstoppable!". --Santax (talk · contribs) 11:47, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Hero vs henchmen[edit]
LOL! For some reason, I thought someone messed up the hero article and added in the heroes.... didn't notice it was the henchmen article :P not enough sleep, heh -- ab.er.rant 02:12, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

{{Polymock piece infobox}}[edit]
I'm confused, why does each piece needs 3 images? The form, the inventory icon? and what is the main bit meant for in that infobox? --Lemming 15:04, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- The main image is the appearance of the player when playing with the piece (looking like a Fire Imp for instance). The inventory icon is what the piece looks like in your bag and the form icon is the "environnement effect" that appears in the top-right of your screen while your are in the Fire Imp form. See this for example. Chriskang 15:10, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
