Nifty!
Was quite surprised to spot that ever-popular Gem icon on Gaile's talk page... everyone else was saying hi, so I figured I'd play along with the crowd. (they seem to have met with cheery responses so far.) So, I imagine you're still a rather busy person in that game called real life, eh? But obviously not so busy as to keep you away from wiki-editing, hehe.
From what I remember, you always were one of the leading experts on userpage prettyness. Still got your magic touch? I just made my page all pwetty, and I can't in all good conscience leave a comment without asking for something in return. Mind gracing my userpage with your eyes' presence? ^_^ -- Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 05:48, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hiya! I'm actually not too busy with irl, I'm playing 5-8 hours a day. :) The reason I don't show up too much at the wiki yet is that I'm trying to keep my wiki time a bit lower for Kalomelis sake.
- Your user page looks nice, although the colours are a bit dark and depressing. I love the way your ranger image blends to the background color. Nicely done! I think I'll restart my list of nice user pages sometime. :)
- Btw, your sigs a bit messy. :P -- (gem / talk) 09:23, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- Dark eh? I was having a bit of trouble with the colors on the Stats section anyway, I agree those look darker then they need to be. I'll fiddle around with those sometime. :D
- But what is it about the signature that's messy? Are you just referring to the special characters, or is something not looking right? Because I was having some issues on a different browser, some of the characters didn't work and were replaced with underscores. -- Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 09:33, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- The sig is working fine, it's just the special characters. -- (gem / talk) 09:44, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, hehe. I'm open to suggestions to that extent; I personally like how the "Derako" part looks better then the "Jioruji". The dashes over just a few characters isn't confusingly complicated, and it has a nice flow as well. Perhaps I can find similar characters for the other letters. -- Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 09:46, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, I just reaslised what it is that irritates me. It's the 'chat' text. maby take the italics away and the random special characters around it too. -- (gem / talk) 10:14, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, really? I was sure the special characters in the name would be the first to irritate someone. :P Perhaps I'll fiddle with it sometime; at the moment, my priority's on the userpage (need to finish up the rest of the character images in Photoshop, most of my characters have gotten new armors since I last took sceenshots). -- Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 10:18, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

- Will do. Need to install Photoshop here at the moment, actually; I've got Photoshop Elements running on my laptop, and I need some of the advanced features. Just got my hands on Photoshop CS, and I'm excited to try it out. -- Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 10:22, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- I heard CS 3 has some nifty new features, so if possible I suggest trying it out. I think I'll have to buy a student license for it soon. -- (gem / talk) 10:23, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- I just got CS (1) from a friend; it's not the most up-to-date version, but I've been running off of 6.0 for the past, oh, I dunno, couple years. Newer features don't really interest me all that much, Photoshop's just awesome as it is; I'm just happy now to have a working Photoshop for my laptop. (6.0 wasn't working well, because I wasn't able to install it properly; and Photoshop Elements doesn't have the option to mess around with Channels, which is my only way of separating linearts from their backgrounds). New feature that really excites me in this version? Timer. Tells you how much time you've spent on a file. Should really help me keep track of how long it takes to finish an artwork. -- Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 10:55, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

GuildWiki vandal
I know you don't venture over there often anymore, but could you help deal with a vandal on that wiki? I saw that you still have admin rights on that wiki. --24.22.225.85 15:05, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
HoM
I see that for the most part we agree on the HoM. I too would like to see perfect rares on the Valor, but am willing to deal with it the way it is in order to keep the rest of the HoM as is. Everyone seems to want anything and everything to be to thier personal preferences, and I think that is absurd. Thanks for chiming in. -- Alesain 16:07, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

- (reset indent): I've got an exceptionally bad schedule, so I'm often going to sleep at about 3-5am... every so often, I'll have to stay up the entire night, just so I'll be tired enough to sleep the next night. - I managed to go to bed at 4am on Saturday, then got up at 8am, zipped off for an Aikido class at 10am (punching/kicking seminar, most Aikido-ka don't know much about attacking because of the nature of the style). Made it to about noon with no food, headed home, jumped over a bush a few times (apparently, I can clear about 4 feet if need be). Edited Wiki. Pretty much passed out at 10:30pm. NPC formatting
Would it be possible to convince you to avoid whitespace at the article top and keep the heading as "Locations" (for consistency, I think it was discussed somehwere)? ;) - anja 18:09, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- I don't care too much about the location vs. locations thing and I'm not sure how I'd be causing whitespace. *confused* -- (gem / talk) 18:10, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- The linebreak between {{image needed}} and __NOTOC__, or NOTOC and the infobox, for example. It's not a huge thing, I just wanted to make sure it was not intentional so we don't end up reverting eachother back and forth :P - anja 18:16, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
Are you "Gemi" on IRC?
Are you the user Gemi on the #gww channel of IRC? I want to avoid lumping you with Auron and Tanetris unnecessarily if that was someone else. --Karlos 10:45, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- Oh yes, I am Gemi. I had to actually trace those lines from my IRC log as I had a very different view from what happened. I'll paste the lines here so that everyone can see what we are talking about:
- 09:34 < Tanetris> Karlos is flailing at ghosts, and ready to martyr himself over it.... Fantastic. Just fantastic.
- 09:35 < Auron`> as long as he doesn't use bombs in said martyr process
- 09:36 < Auron`> O SRY THAT WAS RACIST AGAINST SUICIDE BOMBERS
- 09:36 < Gemi> well, he is trying to take others with him
- As you can see from the time stamps (well, I don't have seconds, only minutes visible in my irssi but anyway) I posted my line in response to the first line of Auron which I did not think as a reference to suicide bombers. I was just thinking it as some sort of way of saying "hopeully he doesn't cause others to leave the wiki" which is what happened in case 'Stabber' and which is what I fear that might happen this time. Auron posted his second message at the same time that I posted mine and only then did I realise that it was a suicide bomber reference. Even then I did not realise that this would offend you very much, but I guess I was wrong. I am really sorry if you misunderstood my intentions and I hope you can understand that I was by no means insulting anyones religion or anything else. My line "well, he is trying to take others with him" was referencing to the situation in the wiki between you and Erasculio, the 'others' directly meaning 'Erasculio'. -- (gem / talk) 10:59, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, I believe you. No harm done. :) --Karlos 11:02, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
I'm sorry
You're right, it's unfair to expect you sit by unaffected by me bringing you up as an example of an administrator I didn't favor. I can't promise I won't do it again -- but I'll make sure there's absolutely no other way to make my point before doing so.
However, I think perhaps you should try to be less insulted by comments like that. Saying that you're not leadership material isn't an insult. If we were all leaders, nothing gets done. You have the considerable talent of being a great worker or follower -- while I talk about things we should do or plan how to do them, you actually get them done. I have great respect for that, and I hope my previous comments didn't imply that I thought less of you because of your sysop experiences.
—Tanaric 16:02, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- I did not feel too offended by any single comment, but I got really tired in seeing my name in every comment that touched the adminship roles. Thank you for understanding how I feel. -- (gem / talk) 21:15, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

I'd like to contact you in-game. I'm currently Pre-Searing however I am about to choose Monk as a Secondary Profession. I will probably be on tonight, I'll add you as a friend and see if you are online =D This is my current character.

Hey Gem
I would love tocome online but I'm at school. Guild Wars doesn't work here, (yet!)
I was wondering however can I use my Prophecies characters in the other campaign? This would help me and a mate who has Nightfall but not Prophecies, he wants to get it to meet me. Thanks! Smashman Lossehelin 07:40, 25 September 2007 (UTC) (signed) =P

Smashman Lossehelin ∙ talk ∙ E-mail 08:50, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- You can only have 1 icon, it has to be 19x19px and you have to upload it under a new filename like Image:User Smashman2004 sig.png. That image needs to redirect to your talk or user page. Read GWW:SIGN for the rules. :) - BeX 08:54, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- And only a user page link, talk page link and contributions link are allowed. Though I would actually like to have the e-mail link allowed, so I'll start a new disussion on the talk page of the policy. -- (gem / talk) 09:16, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- Aside from that, it's within all the other rules... I would simply chop off the E-Mail link and the second image, and run with that. Looks pretty good to me. -- Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 05:58, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

I usually do I just assumed it would work... But it didnt. Do you know how to get this to align to the right? Plz
Smashman2004 ∙ talk 09:23, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- Because the resulting render if in HTML, it wonn't align as you thought it might. To align it properly, enclose it inside a table and the align the table. I'm not sure if divs would work as well though. -- ab.er.rant 09:32, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

- I think I know what you mean... when you type content on the page, the userboxes sit on top of the content? That's a problem I ran into, at least. You might need to fiddle around with it a bit; try making it a single column, and see if things still fit in that. If you can't figure it out, just type out your userpage the way you want it to be, ignore the problems, then let someone else look at any problems that are showing up in the coding... -- Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 20:52, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
