Is there a particular reason you're reuploading distorted versions of various item images? --Thervold 17:37, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- If you've ever uploaded an image, you'll know this Wiki's image cache doesn't update for some time. Look at the pictures tomorrow and they'll be updated. Jennalee 17:38, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Uh, they looked fine to me... Vanguard 17:52, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- What do you mean :S - I can't see any pics I overwrite until like, the day after. Jennalee 18:08, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Basically what the first person said. Those few images you're overwriting were fine, but yours are oversized and distorted. Vanguard 18:33, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Refresh them :S Jennalee 18:34, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- What was uploaded today was basically what I did that went up here first[1] Jennalee 18:36, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. I was mostly thinking about the Droknar's shield pic. My next question is, are you even allowed to replace "official" images? Vanguard 18:39, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Since when were they 'official'? Most of them were player posted if you haven't noticed. Some devs do renders here but that's about it Jennalee 18:41, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

(reset) Hi Jenna, while I in general see improvements over the old pics, yours usually suffer from jpg compression (there are jpg optimizers out there, I would recommend using them) and maybe graphics setting/graphic card issues. The Long Sword e.g. looks indeed blurry, as does the Wyvern Blade. I recommend you this little freeware program, maybe it will help you to make even better images: http://www.squint.de/freeware/grafik/jpopt307.exe --Longasc 22:52, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, I know about the anti-aliasing problems from my gfx card - my computer and card are very old (NVidia GeForce FX 5500). I did update my drivers recently but it didn't do anything to help and I'm not sure I can manually force it higher with this card. The compression artifacts are due to the quality I am saving at (~90-95%) with the program I'm using to save on size but I'll check that program out to see if it'll minimize those, or just opt to save in photoshop if it helps though I find it clunky T_T. Jennalee 04:48, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, must say after playing around with it a little, it can really achieve pretty impressive quality for size. However, it's a little time consuming. Thanks for the help, as always :) Jennalee 08:09, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- I use Photoshop only to resize/crop the image. The XAT JPG Optimizer yields better quality and smaller size than Photoshop, no kidding. Your graphics card might not be the fastest, but the quality can for sure be improved, it is not sooo bad as you make it sound. You might want to check the 3D options tab and fiddle around there. Dunno if Nvidia still goes the speed over image quality route with driver settings. The Radeon X700 of my laptop really produces a better image by default (and I actually always used and recommended nVidia cards before I got this one). Anyways, I just wanted to say "Hi!" on the Wiki, and thought I could as well add a bit more. At the moment I am salvaging old weapons and replacing them, trashing or selling a lot of them to get some more storage space. I replaced all my gloom shields recently with Undead Shields, just added +30 HP and +10 vs X to them, salvaged off the Glooms I sold for some 30-40k blank. :) Hard to sell any skin short of a Stygian Reaver nowadays! I am sitting on Havok's Maul, Greater Sage Blades and stuff, nobody wants it. I am still looking for a demontongue and an insectoid scythe. Then I also gave up on God Among Mere Mortals, I have 26 titles by now and all that is left is basically: drink (boring zoning...), eat (just money, easy, but a waste), hunt treasures (takes 11 month if I would run 30 chests a day, and well...) and identify items (this one I might make in time, already got some 3000 by normal playing). FFF running would also work, but this is not my cup of tea or idea of fun. It just nags me that I cannot get 30 titles in a way that does not tax my patience and time so much. I guess it is really reserved for the gods. :) BTW: you edited while I was typing, but I managed to keep the text (puuuh...) --Longasc 08:20, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- Heehee, there's some insectoid scythes on auction atm - one with no reserve but looks like bidding will be hot. I seriously need more space too but I'm loathe to trash my um, hoard of never used items with skins I wanted that have progressively become less wanted as time goes by, as you've noticed >_> - you may as well merch just about any gold req. 9 you get these days as it won't even fetch 5k most of the time and just result in clutter. IMO IDing items would be easy to make if you just bought the gold UNids around 500g per and sell off any perf mods you get and trash the rest. I personally detest the idea of title grinding so I doubt I'll ever bother :P Anyhow, I'll be away for most of the weekend so don't expect to see anything from me until I'm back ^^ Jennalee 08:31, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Screenshots[edit]
Hi! Just writing a note to say nice job on the screenshots, they're much clearer than the previous ones. :) -- ►AshleyS (talk•contribs) 02:52, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- Glad you liked them :d - going to have to thank BeXoR though for the last tips on how to get them just that little less blurry :P Jennalee 02:59, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Email[edit]
Hey, sorry for slow replies, just letting you know I replied just then. I see on your gwiki page you're an Aussie too which is awesome. ^_^ If I don't reply quickly just bing me on my talk page and I'll get to it (I am easily distracted and forgetful hehe). - BeX 11:00, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
gfdl[edit]
Just so you know, any images uploaded here fall under the copyrights set out at Guild Wars Wiki:Copyrights. We aren't allowed to set our own licensing for personal images, and images from the game aren't gfdl anyway. :) - BeX 09:01, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- I already know that screenshots are the property of ANet although it's strange we aren't allowed to set licenses for personal images :S Jennalee 13:34, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's something I enquired about a while back, because I wanted to put some of my artwork up to decorate my page, but then finding out it could be legally sold was extremely offputting. I asked if we could use our own license and they basically said no. - BeX 14:34, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Dye charts[edit]
Hmmm, I'm not very good at explaining.. so i'll just give u a play by play of what I usually do. Not sure if it'll answer your question or not though. haha XD
- okay, what I usually do is take a screenshot with the mouse hovering over the dye so it'll say what dye it is. That way people won't have to guess what dye it is and I won't have to edit in the text later. Saves some time.
- And of course the dyes are:
- black
- white
- silver
- yellow
- orange
- brown
- red
- green
- blue
- purple
if you want to put in gray, you can. It'll make it look uneven, so u can do another preview by taking out the dye to give it the "undyed" preview. Doesn't matter the order.
- next you got all of those screen shots, so I cropped everything out but just the border around the dye and the preview. Here's an example: Image:Iridescent_Aegis_dye_chart.jpg. I usually try and do it the biggest resolution possible because I like to be able to see the weapon detail. so mine is usually 5x2. If you're going to put in gray and undyed, it'll be 6x2. I think ms paint will do just fine putting all of them together.
- Some people do it differently. If you want, You can just crop everything out but the little border around the preview and even taking out the picture of the dye and just edit in the text later saying what dye that you used so it'll be easier to see when the image gets smaller, rather than the way I usually do it.
alright, I hope I answered your question... if not then... told ya im bad at explaining things ;) -- Zemmy 21:54, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, I've been doing 3 by 4 unless you have any objections :P Personally, I wish you could do them like a color wheel but I doubt that's feasible. Jennalee 00:55, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Your images[edit]
I wanted to tell you that I think you have contributed some of the best looking weapon images on GWW. I'm learning, and I think I finally have the hang of doing a good screenshot, but you get better detail than I do most of the time. -- Wynthyst 13:00, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- I second that; you've done great work and your images RAWK! :D Kokuou 12:52, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Heya![edit]
I didn't even realize it was you I was selling to earlier, or I woulda said something, but I've just bought something from you, if you plan to be in game anytime soon :P -- Wynthyst 21:21, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
your question[edit]
i replied now. Noticed you uploaded the icons for the male warrior asuran armor. The icons are dyed yellow and transperent, does that mean you figured out how to extract icons with texmod in the meanwhile? :P —ZerphaThe Improver 12:35, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'd like to add that the male armor doesn't seem to match the female armor's color and since the Eye of the North armor default colors are red, you may want to re-upload with an extract directly from the DAT. | Sounds Risky | 05:48, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Purge[edit]
This might help if you add this to your monobook.
/*This will add a "purge" tab to your toolbar for easy cache purging */ // addPurge addOnloadHook(function () { var hist; var url; if (!(hist = document.getElementById('ca-history') )) return; if (!(url = hist.getElementsByTagName('a')[0] )) return; if (!(url = url.href )) return; addPortletLink('p-cactions', url.replace(/([?&]action=)history([&#]|$)/, '$1purge$2'), 'purge', 'ca-purge', 'Purge server cache for this page', '0'); });
I'm not sure if that code is quite correct, but you can always copy my monobook if that doesn't work and I missed something. --People of Antioch 02:13, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
- Update: To me, after I purged the cache that is, the gloves are now dyed red. Good job. --People of Antioch 02:15, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
- OK, I'll see about it. I've been flushing my own for my browser every time I go look at the icons and seeing the icons change from the one I uploaded then, and sometimes by 10 hours later, going back to the one I replaced when nobody changed ut and going "wtf". Usually, it'll update within the hour and always be updated but since the recent maintinence, I don't know what's up with the cache. Jennalee 02:17, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hitting that purge button and seeing no change to the much brighter red icon I uploaded. Jennalee 02:21, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, either my code is wrong, or you have to wait for the cache to clear itself out in order to take full advantage of the purge function. Ask Poke, he's good at stuff like this. Leave him a message and someone will help you. --People of Antioch 02:24, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'll wait a bit longer and see if anything changes before asking but it's really aggravating. Jennalee 02:25, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, sounds good. But as I noted above, you seem to be impatient with this kind of thing. The image is red now, right? Then the rest of us can see it and it's all good for the wiki. You've made a nice contribution, and please be happy that the masses can see it now, okay? =) --People of Antioch 02:28, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
- I had waited overnight before checking the icons again, flushed my browser cache for FF and IE and viewed them again and nothing had changed, so I'm skeptical. The icons were red beforehand, they're just supposed to be brighter now. Jennalee 02:30, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
- I don't get what's happening. One moment, I see the version I uploaded. I flush my browser cache, come back several hours later and I see the old version. It's ping-poing between the versions. Jennalee 06:48, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

- No fight just a bit of surpise. But seriously the cache is bad juju, it sometimes takes forever before it even properly updates for me. I'd blame my initial response on the time of day. | Sounds Risky | 05:48, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Another project[edit]
Since you seem to do such amazing work with the item icons/galleries i was wondering if you would mind working on another wiki project? — Seru Talk 04:58, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
- I'd rather not... Sorry to say but I really dislike GWs voice acting and I don't want to listen to the cinematics again... Jennalee 06:29, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Dye charts[edit]
I have been going through the Screenshots and have started adding the dye chart category to the dye charts. I have finished A-B and gotten through part of C. Have decided that several of them need to be redone :P -- Wyn 04:52, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
