Just stopping by to say hello. It's great to see someone else from ANet who's not afraid to get their hands dirty here on the wiki. Cheers! :) --Dirigible 20:03, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

I rather like sharing stories and bits of information. Plus I think it's good to show people that we are here and we are listening :D - Linsey Murdock 06:17, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Yay! Linsey's here too! :) --UserEmilyDiehlStar.gif Emily Diehl (talk) 21:11, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Hello, it's really good to see someone who works on the GW quests here in the Wiki : ) A huge "thank you" for all the work that goes into the quests - some of them are the most interesting things to read in the game, and others, like Double Dog Dare, are among the most pleasant and different things to play through (that's by far my favourite quest in the game) Erasculio 02:27, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Yay! I love how great a response DDD has gotten since it really was one of my babies. Thanks for saying hi! - Linsey Murdock 04:54, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

GW:EN quests

I'm looking forward to quests in GW:EN, I'm sure you wont let me down, the ones in Nightfall were so fun, i would go over them again if i could ;) ~ KurdKurdsig.png 11:19, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the praise, and I hope I don't let you down! - Linsey Murdock 22:02, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Quest Title/Acknowledgment

One thing I always wanted in an MMO was a quest keeper. Something that would tell me what quests I have done. Back before titles, I tried to find and do every quest in Prophecies (damn you Titan Source)... but I was wondering if either in GW2 or some future update to GW we would get something of this note? I mean a quest title seems pretty doable, but even just a tab to the quest log screen. Thanks! --Ravious 23:58, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

We have talked about things like "journals" and completed quests logs and it's generally agreed upon that it is a really cool feature when done well. I certainly can't speak definitively on whether a feature like this will be in GW2 but I do think it's something we will be looking at and discussing further once full swing production starts. - Linsey Murdock 00:14, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Dragon Festival Quests

Hello Linsey, I don't know if you worked on them, but the "new" quests of the Dragon Festival are amazing. The idea of actually using NPCs wearing masks was awesome, but the little bits of text (from the guy who says "I have never seen this...Of course, there was last year when the same thing happened" to the actress asking if she was good enough to try to act with Norgu) are really, really good. Nice to see such attention to that kind of thing, thanks : D Erasculio 03:18, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

That was the brilliance of James Phinney. That guy is lead designer for a reason! We knew we wanted to do the Dragon Festival again but the last one was in large part a foreshadowing for Nightfall and we couldn't exactly do that again. It was James's idea to have it be a reenactment and imo it was sheer genius. I mean, who does reenactments?? And the NPCs with the masks? Hilarious! I particularly love the Paper Rifts. I'll be sure to let him know that players are getting into it. Thanks for the comment! - Linsey Murdock 03:26, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

User images

Just to let you know, user images must be prefixed by your gwwiki user name as outlined in GWW:USER and/or GWW:IMAGE. So your image should be reuploaded at Image:User Linsey Murdock Leitha.jpg. User images must also have user image in the description. :) - BeX iawtc 09:35, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

I took the liberty to help you with this. -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 11:43, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the help! I am new to wiki'ing. :) - Linsey Murdock 16:37, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

make a cool little signature =P

Check out GWW:SIGN - all of the instructions for tweaking your sig are there (the Customizing your signature section) - we don't copy and paste it every time, we just have the four tildes do something else ;)
You do still have to type the four tildes, but it'll put something other than just your plain username in there =)
For an example, mine's pretty boring in comparison to some others we have, but here you go anyway: MisterPepe <small>talk</small>
If you're like Izzy and hate having to remember to type those four tildes, there are ways to make it automatically add your sig if you forget, but it's a wee bit complicated to set up (well, not really - go to Special:MyPage/monobook.js, add , and hit ctrl-shift-f5 =P).
That's probably way more information than you were looking for =\ MisterPepe talk 17:48, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

No, that was perfect! I don't mind typing the 4 tildes (though I'm not surprised Izzy does, that is very Izzy like behavior :P). Thanks a lot, I'll have to come up with something now. :D - Linsey Murdock 17:56, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
huzzah! but wait, why isn't my little "talk" not making a link...? I used Linsey <small>talk</small> with "raw signatures" checked. That should work, right? - Elementalist-icon-small.pngLinsey talk 18:21, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
It doesn't make a link on this page, because it would just link to itself. Try it on another page, sandbox for example, and it will probably be a link :) - anja talk 18:22, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
oh oh oh oh...... well that makes sense. :D danke! - Elementalist-icon-small.pngLinsey talk 18:35, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

=P Cool user pages

If you're stuck, I've got a few recommendations of fun pages that you can take a look at for inspiration (in no particular order =\):

I personally don't think mine qualifies, but you might also want to take a look at the Gwen-chan icon set and see if there's anything amusing you want to yoink. Apologies to anyone I missed (I left Emily's off on purpose - I'm pretty sure you've already seen that =P), these are the ones that were at the top of my head ;) MisterPepe talk 00:40, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

We probably still miss some , but still will help you get started ~ KurdKurdsig.png 10:40, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the help guys! I think I'll probably go with a mix of elements from a few of these pages. I'm starting to realize that the Graphic Designer in me might be just a tiny bit picky and I might never be satisfied until I come up with my own design. These pages are definitely helping a lot to give me ideas on what I can do. Hopefully by this time next week I'll have something cool up. - Elementalist-icon-small.pngLinsey talk 19:14, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Bunnies

Guild Wars clearly needs 4000% more bunnies! -Warskull 18:53, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

I totally agree Warskull! - Elementalist-icon-small.pngLinsey talk 19:51, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
Let's just hope we won't be needing this! --Kale Ironfist 05:13, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
hares are wonderful aren't they? more rabbits :)--Bane of Worlds 14:37, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Your elementalist

Just curious, does its amor actually look like that in-game or have you edited that pic with photoshop? -User Tulen elementti sig.jpg Tulen elementti (talk) 07:49, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

It looks like she have merged together pictures of all her armor, in Photoshop or a similar program :) - anja talk 08:32, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, that is all my armor suits stitched together via many hours of Photoshop. It was an obsession for a couple of my evenings. I think it came out pretty good ^_^ Elementalist-icon-small.pngLinsey talk 09:05, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
It's really nice ^^ I tried to do something similar, but it didn't turn out as nice as yours. :) - anja talk 09:11, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Your signature

Hope you won't mind, but I have to tell you (it's almost compulsive behavior for me): you are currently in violation of GWW:SIGN#Appearance_and_color by signing with Linsey. You can solve this violation quite easy:

 1. Register Linsey and redirect that user's page to Linsey Murdock (the other way around is probably not the best option, since a lot of people will have your pages on their watchlist at the moment).
 2. Change your signature to include the username Linsey Murdock.

*crawls back to his corner* -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 00:50, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

And (to finish the whole thing ^^) upload the elementalist icon to Image:User Linsey Murdock sig.png and add a redirect to your userpage (or talk) :) poke | talk 00:52, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Damn, I'm getting sloppy... -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 00:56, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
No, you need holidays xD poke | talk 00:57, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Holidays'll do. *stumbles to bed* (No, no, this time for real!) -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 01:03, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Ok, I just tried to register "Linsey" but looks like our security system is broke or something so I couldn't do it. Emily is looking into it for me and as soon as that is fixed, I'll make my sig all legal and stuffs. Thanks for the heads up - Elementalist-icon-small.pngLinsey talk 01:05, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Done and Done! Plus a quick and sloppy edit to the image :P - User Linsey Murdock sig.jpgLinsey talk 19:05, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Before you add your sig image to too many places really it should follow the same naming convention as the user pages, just to avoid bother later, so it should be called something like: Image:User Linsey Murdock sig.jpg :) --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 19:10, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Done and done, User Linsey Murdock sig.jpg ~ KurdUser Kurd sig.png 19:15, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Oh thanks, Kurd! I thought that's how I did it, but I guess I wasn't paying enough attention lol. - User Linsey Murdock sig.jpgLinsey talk 19:16, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
You will still need to change the code in your preferences to update to the new image. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 19:52, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Hmmpf.. cant do that for ya ~ KurdUser Kurd sig.png 20:02, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Black Moa Chick Will Not Hatch

I gathered all ingredients (hardened egg, herring, branch of juni berries, nesting material, volcanic rock, honey comb, Zho's Journal) and tried getting hit by Sorrow's Flame and nothing comes out. Here's a screenshot to prove it (http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/4637/blackmoachickdoesnothatwx6.jpg). You can see all the ingredients in my inventory plus the incubator kit showing all 6 ingredients inside, and the damage received by Sorrow's Flame on the left. Am I missing something?

You need to actually put them inside the incubator. (Your picture has them in your inventory and the greyed out slots where they should go in the incubator are empty) Fenyx 19:27, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
That's right, you have to put the items into the incubator kit. - User Linsey Murdock sig.jpgLinsey talk 19:35, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks Linsey got it ^^
