I was bored[edit]

So I whipped this up. Do I bother continuing, any changes you'd like? It's supposed to be for Lightspeed:
User Misery Lightspeed.png
Misery 00:19, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

It's gotta be "Almost Lightspeed" or "Just right below the speed of light" unless you want the MMORPG multiverse to explode ^_^ Ɲoɕʈɋɽɕɧ 00:55, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Current skill wording gives 0 activation time for all attacks, that would implode a game engine imo. Misery 00:56, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
PS: As GuildWars means 50% faster attack speed with its "33%", 100%'d mean ∞% faster. Waaaah, I fear the worst.
PPS: You noticed that, too Ɲoɕʈɋɽɕɧ 00:58, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Ewww, that skill would be so Build Wars its not even funny. >_< --TalkRiddle 01:08, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
I think the target would just instantly see a crapload of numbers and die, regardless of Block, Blind, or anything like that. Unless they had SoA or Defy Pain or something on. Then the game would implode, methinks. It would be awesome to see with Empathy or Insidious, tough. Or, lol, SS.
Also, I'd change the blade to be red, just to be consistent with the rest of the sin icons. Other than that, I love it. Well, not that I don't love it, anyway, ofc. <3 User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 01:27, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Oh. And needs a border. ^^ User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 01:32, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

I was using Critical Strike.jpg for palette reference, a lot of them have whitish daggers actually, but if you remind me tonight I'm happy to mess around a bit. If you have another skill icon you can reference that would help instead of me making 43732534 revisions. Misery 07:58, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
The color makes it look like a butter knife. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 19:06, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Palette... reference... Misery 21:05, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Version 2:
User Misery Lightspeed2.png
c/d? Anything you want changed? It's easy to remove the added effect if you want, it's still on another layer. I played with some other things, but I hated them more than I hate this so decided to do nothing. You will have to get Vili to gold border it, because I am baed at that apparently. Misery 00:44, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Protips for adding gold border: find Elite skill on wiki, download it, remove skill icon; save box (64x64px). Open skill to be apex-honor'd. Resize to 56x56px. Paste onto box. ...? Profit! Vili User talk:Vili 01:48, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

On a mostly unrelated topic, I'll abuse whatever I bloody feel like, thank you."

Looks like it should be for a skill called "Shiv".-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 02:08, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
GL getting it to stick; no one's going to get the reference. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 02:27, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
I used a hand holding a hunting knife instead of a dagger for a reference so it's not really ever going to look like a dagger unless I redraw from scratch. Hey, if Raine wants me to I don't really mind, it just would fall somewhere in the job queue. I'm pretty lazy. Misery 15:38, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

lmfao[edit]

I love the team build, it's almost as lulzy as running triple mesmer. I has a modification idea- instead of running a dervish, I run a palm strike, either a VoR or a mels shot depending on the map (VoR for kaanai because I hold fail 12 man luxon mobs in their own base lulz), fc snare and a standard monk. All because i r gud assassin ;o Owut 15:36, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Which build? I only have one 4-person build saved on this wiki (how'd you dig that up, by the way?), and there's no Derv in it. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 20:00, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Your rating thing[edit]

Do it as a table as part of a template and it will look pretty and your life will be easy. Misery 20:00, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm a wiki nub. Explain it as if I have absolutely no experience with that sort of thing at all. Because I don't. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 20:02, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Just ignore me though, I troll everyone's pages. Misery 20:12, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
Ignore you? Pfft. Why would I turn down free fish? User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 20:14, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
Okay. So I just updated the page to reflect what I'd originally wanted it to look like. I'm going to play with it some, but what I was wondering if it would be possible to create a template such that {{skill rating|Agonizing Chop|3|3|1|2|0|0|2}} would create what I have on that page. I mean, how difficult would that be, given that the {{skill icon}} and {{progress bar}} templates are already in existence? User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 20:28, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
Also, from an aesthetics standpoint, having them all in a single column like that is baed. How would I go about having that information in several columns that spanned the width of the page? User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 20:36, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) I just did that for you:

Damage

Offensive Utility

Offensive Support

Healing

Defensive Utility

Defensive Support

Ease of Use

You/Me can now play with how you want it to look whenever and it will update all of them in one shot. Misery 20:37, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
As for laying them out in a column... there are 7 bars, hao2layout? Misery 20:41, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
Can you switch to GW? Easier to explain things there. Misery 20:53, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
Those small letters hurt my eyeballs.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 02:58, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Then you're doing it wrong. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 03:35, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Small font is small. I can't read it at all. It would be better to have it as one long table the width of the page, anyway. Like a QR. Vili User talk:Vili 07:09, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Last time I got my eyes checked they were better than 20/10, so I don't care :D
Raine can do whaat she likes though. Misery 13:01, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
My eyes are ~20/20 close up, and ~20/200 at range. The problem with starting at small fonts is that they look all pixelly evne if one zooms in on the page, so it continues to be unreadable. Anyway, surely these are not just reference tables for the well-endowed; they would be for eliciting comments and such, no? I think it's safe to assume that if 20/10 is a requirement, that will deter a lot of potential constructive criticism. Vili User talk:Vili 13:05, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Honestly, it says "in order" at the top of the page, and if one were to hover their cursor over over one of the bars, it'd become significantly easier to read. There's really no reason for all this whining.
Also, remind me not to post on wiki unless I've slept in the past 48 hours; I get pissy. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 13:13, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Now I realized why I like you[edit]

I thought at first--"oh he's cool, he gets Shard's humor" and "oh, he understands the sames griefs I have with GW." Then I saw that you had "Valen" in your name <3... Man, there are two men in games who are the equal to Lara Croft for boys: Valen Shadowbreath from NWN:HoU and Link from Zelda.--*Yasmin Parvaneh* User yasmin parvaneh sig.png 08:35, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Raine is female btw. Vili User talk:Vili 08:51, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Edit conflicts are fun! :D
Anyway.
TBH, that's my last name (I go by my middle and last names: Raine Valen. Sadly, someone on GW beat me to the char name. I mean, honestly. Someone put my name on one of their characters. And it's not like it's a common name or anything, either...), lol. I wasn't even aware that that Valen existed until I read it on your forum (y'know, the NWN module one!). Also, someone's mentioned to me that there's a character in an anime that I've never heard of named Valen, and also a protagonist in some video game named Valen (except this one's a guy =o).
I'll have to look up Valen Shadowbreath. =)
*Googles it*
I've got to agree with you on that one (though not necessarily on Link).
Still, I've got to say that the Final Fantasy guys are my favorites. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 09:01, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Someone took Simon Le Bon...so I understand that all too well, then again I'm glad other DD fans play GW. For NWN...yeah, he's amazing. I'm going to work him and Deekin into our module because I can. Thanks for signing up for our module too, its going to be so much fun...or at least, my hopes are that it will be.
I realized I left Cecil Harvey off the hot list with Link & VS. Cecil is the reason I fell in love with Paladins.--*Yasmin Parvaneh* User yasmin parvaneh sig.png 09:35, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Actually, the equivalent would be closer to someone taking "<Your Middle Name> Parvaneh" as their char name.
I'm really not familiar with NWN at all, but from what I know of you and Shard and what I've read on said forum, it sounds like it will be fun. Both of you are familiar with what makes games fun, and both of you actually care. Those two things are never bad for a game. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 09:55, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
NWN is definitely one of those games you can get lost in just by having the ability to really cater the game around your personality as that character. Having a story that is really involving--or indepth to role play is something I am pretty passionate about. The great thing about NWN is that Shard and I get to do a project together, which will lead us into his original game "Crusade" which I would love to write the story for.
The only beef I have with NWN is the age of the game. I wish my characters looked like GW characters...but other than that, its the best game I've played besides Zelda. I think I descibed it to a friend as "Zelda meets the Sims". I've secretly wanted to be into DnD, but never could because 1. I'm horrible at math, 2. my friends would have teased me to no end! NWN really let me have that geeky roleplay. I have a feeling you will enjoy it very much!--*Yasmin Parvaneh* User yasmin parvaneh sig.png 10:09, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
There's probably a graphics update mod somewhere. NWN used to have almost as big of a modding community as Morrowind, and Morrowind has like five of those. --71.229.253.172 10:15, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Gratz me on 2 edit conflicts in the same section! :D
Anyway.
GW is beautiful, I can't deny that.
If you want to get into something, get into it. I've done a couple of things that my friends didn't exactly idolize, and I can tell you from experience: they'll still love you. At least, until the point where something's becoming unhealthy, at which point most friends would ask that you stop (but still, that's just something that good friends do: they care). I personally don't see why DnD would be detrimental to your health; I say have at it. =) User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 10:22, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
On a completely unrelated note, Valen is also the name of a character (a guy, too) on the TV series Babylon 5. Funny to see someone actually named that. Erasculio 10:26, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
That was it! Though I'd always assumed that "Valen" was a girl. Baseless assumptions are usually not good, lol.
Still, I've never heard anything of it other than the name of the series and one of the characters in it. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 10:35, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Bull's Strike, Bull's Charge or Enraged Smash in PvE[edit]

Your goal in PvE, HM? Actually that's pretty easy. AI aims for the "weak" -> Ogden's under attack -> Ogden is set to Avoid Combat -> Ogden kites while Generic Target follows -> Bull's Strike/Bull's Charge/Enraged Smash -> Knock Down. I don't say it's any good - but it's easy in hardmode Ɲoɕʈɋɽɕɧ 12:43, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

lern2wiki[edit]

That was a very unwise move. To fix move-type vandalism on this wiki...

  1. A sysop must go and delete all of my pages.
  2. Then they must move them back from your subpages.
  3. Then they have to delete your subpages.

I realize you did this out of ignorance for the consequences and because I have openly invited vandalism of my page, but once it causes work for the sysops the joke has been taken too far. Thank you for ruining it for everyone. Vili User talk:Vili 07:44, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Wow. Good Morning. Misery 07:48, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
(Edit Conflict)
You're right, that was more than I'd thought it'd be; it was imprudent of me.
In all honesty, it occurs to me now that had I thought through said actions more thoroughly, I'd have been able to determine that there would be more work than I'd originally expected; I've seen the delete requests for move remnants before, but I failed to make the connection. Again, that was very imprudent of me.
I was of the impression that you'd simply be able to move the pages back to their original location in much the same manner that I'd moved them, not considering the above; regrettably (and not simply as a rhetorical device; this action is, in fact, held in regret), that is not the case.
If there's anything that I may do to help remedy the situation, then I'd gladly volunteer.
Finally, I'd like to apologize wholeheartedly, to both you and to the sysops for whom I've inadvertently created unnecessary work. I do hope that you'll be able to forgive me in the future. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 08:00, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Dear Raine[edit]

You were overextended too far, caught blind without adrenaline in Primal Rage. I didn't have a pot in my hands so I couldn't drop it. Even though I'm usually pushed up pretty far you were out of reach of my WoW, you got spiked down. You were brave, probably a little too brave. I'm not pissed, I'm not even mad because one day I'm going to be pushed up too far, dshot will hit my WoW and the monks won't be able to do anything. I just hope you're there to resurrect me, which is why I am waiting for you to base so we can go and gank together. See you in the morning,

Also, you're wonderful. :) User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 23:29, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
I still have high res, but "not scaling it down so much" would involve a composition change. You want the people larger so they are easier to make out? It's just if they get too big then they kind of don't shadowstep very far. There is a bit of room at the bottom and it probably won't bee too difficult to gain some space on the left. I'll play with it a bit when I get some time, but now I need sleep. Hrm, I still have layers separated, I could just move all the people, scale it up a bit and redo the white stuff.
