Sysops[edit]
Do you dedicate your self as a sysop or is it a promotion? I haven't seen you around on talk pages before, but you are sure a kind person and I wish you good luck!--Kram 15:13, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you ^^ Well, sysops are nominated and elected in the RfA procedure. We're the janitors of the wiki, sort of. Really, it's a shitty job but someone has to do it ;) — Why 17:29, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Main page[edit]
I suppose you could automate the updates, but what happens if there isn't an update at the beginning of the month, or even a month without updates? That would be a pain to code. --JonTheMon 13:36, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
- I discussed it briefly with poke some time ago but he was against it, and since he knows way more of such things I let the matter rest. I was just venting my opinion. It is kinda bad that we missed updating it for two weeks though. An easier solution would be to remove the links to specific months altogether. They're kind of redundant anyway. — Why 14:10, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Disruptive[edit]
Hello Why, a while ago you banned me for being "disruptive". However, in my understanding of the word "disruptive" it could not be used to describe my actions, in this case. I 1) continued started to add to the skill animations project (a massive timesink). 2) RC in no way slowed down in the User / Guild / Main spaces (where this shitstorm hasn't touched). 3) I would like your clear non-dictionary.com definition of the word "disruptive" and how it would apply to me. Thank you for your time. — Scythe 20:32, 12 Aug 2010 (UTC)
- Continuing an issue which had actually finished could be considered disruptive. Just saying. ShadowRunner 21:04, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- his RfR isnt finished, and what am i stopping / slowing? — Scythe 21:11, 12 Aug 2010 (UTC)
- You're being a retard. --neshot. moo. 21:17, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- With your bad logic, terrible examples and persistence that you are in the right, you have diverted people's time that is better spent elsewhere.
- Everything after you said that the conventional methods of removing a sysop was "a pointless battle" can qualify for disruption/trolling/dramawhoring. You're unwilling to do it the proper way, so you are trying to force Auron to resign by stirring up enough drama and holding the wiki for ransom, saying the drama will end when Auron resigns.[1] ← That is disruption. --Riddle 21:26, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- You're wasting your own time. People aren't listening to you, your 'evidence' is bad, and Auron's a decent sysop. He's not going to be RfR'd or even de-sysoped just because you have a personal dislike for him.--neshot. moo. 21:27, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) Scythe, right now you're stirring the pot. Right now, I don't care which side is right or wrong; looking at this neutrally, this could all have ended eons ago. I can't speak for the disruption ban, but constantly bringing up and issue over and over again (I.E the AN) and not letting it rest, in my humble opinion, would be disruption. If this all started with a reconfirmation on Auron, put it in and let it rest. Or whatever started this, honestly. Nobody likes going around in conversation circles, accomplishing nothing. The wiki does not "define" in hard letters what a block has to be; the sysops do use discretion. I can't speak for that. This is just what I see.
- I place no blame on either party because this entire conversation probably shouldn't have happened. But honestly, this should probably just end before we start another lap on this endless circle. -- Wandering Traveler 21:31, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- "And wall of text crit.'s you for 1337 damage!" --Neil2250 21:35, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) a few things... How the hell am i holding the wiki for ransom? The drama will end if he resigns i will direct you here if you need to see a similar statement. Persistence, in my experience is the only way to achieve something, not quitting. People are listening to me; disagreeing, yes, but still listening. I am not the only one with an anti-Auron bias. Also, WT you scarred me, thought you were Neil for a sec... was like... Neil dont talk like that 0.o. If this should end then auron should resign, as i have stated countless times; otherwise, this shitstorm will not end. — Scythe 21:42, 12 Aug 2010 (UTC)
- You've already done the most important step for that: adding your RfR to the list. After that, its up to community consensus and the actual reconfirmation process. This is a note of opinion, not a reelection campaign. You've done your part already, but now its getting out of hand, and people are realizing "hey, I think this is going a bit too far".
- I'll say no more on the matter, but you can't accomplish everything by yourself. Just say it once, add your RfR, and be done with it. Thats all one can do. Consensus, not dictatorship. -- Wandering Traveler 21:47, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

- disrupt: to cause disorder or turmoil in. Or in more colloquial terms: to cause a shitstorm. Now stop. Thank you. --Glynnis 04:52, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
(Reset indent) Heya Scythe, I'm sorry I haven't been able to answer you earlier since I was in France (for those who wonder, it was a great vacation, thanks) without internet. I thought the situation on the noticeboard talkpage and Auron's RfA talkpage was getting out of hand, so I decided it had to stop. I'm not going to analyze the situation in too much detail, since while I do have an opinion about Auron's sysophood, I think it's best for me not to get personally involved with the content of the debate just yet, so that when I do feel the need to take disciplinary action I can do so unbiased and without taking sides. In short, I think most drama was caused by you trying aggressively to prove your point, against a majority of people disagreeing with you. You had already been warned both implicitly and explicitly by Jon and poke, respectively, so I deducted the easiest way to stop this drama was to block you, instead of silencing the debate altogether. You are free to voice your opinion and provide arguments and counterarguments, but please do so in an orderly fashion and try to limit the influence of your emotions, especially when it's about delicate matters such as RfRs.
A word of advice: I don't think continuing the debate the way you have is going to serve your agenda. If I were a bureaucrat, I would certainly not start a reconfirmation process when the debate was raging on as it is now or was earlier. You've provided your reasons and signed your name, that's pretty much everything you can and should do now. I believe community support is an important factor in sysophood, and I think that notion is shared (at least to a certain extent) by our bureaucrats. That's why people should be given the chance to cast their vote in a reconfirmation process, but in a rational and friendly environment, not while tempers are flaring all around the situation.
To answer your original question, I do not think you are in nature a disruptive user. You have indeed made great contributions to the wiki, and for that I am grateful. However, I think your actions in the debate provoked a lot of drama, which I think is disruptive, not only to the one or two pages it is occurring on but also to the wiki as a whole since it distracts people from what is really important (content, for instance) and generally makes people unhappy/angry which is far from beneficial.
I see you've linked to this discussion on the noticeboard talk page. That's a good thing to do - anyone is welcome to discuss my actions or this block in particular here, as long as it is, again, in an orderly fashion and with rational arguments. And, no personal attacks please Oneshot, they're against the rules and you know it. Oh, and happy belated birthday! — Why 18:03, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

HUGS move[edit]
Hi Wout. Thanks for moving the HUGS guild into historical space. A minor detail: You forgot to move the cape aswell ;)
I'm doing quite well thanks for asking. I hope you are too? GN is doing OK too. We have had a stable number of active players for a long time now. We could use a new alliance but as we recently decided to change faction every month (something I suggested) it is unlikely that we will find one. --Miko 17:40, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, I'll get right on to that, thanks. Good to hear you guys are still around. I've barely been active lately, I really should get in touch again. Changing factions every month sounds awesome by the way. — Why 21:11, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
