Duke Gaban is an Ascalonian noble that owns an estate on the northern reaches of the human kingdom. He's known to have a heavy interest in Devourer egg omelets, often sending his servants into devourer caves to find eggs. In 1070 AE, he traveled south of the Great Northern Wall for unknown reasons, but could be found looking for Devourer eggs outside a Devourer Cave, even getting himself lost in the Catacombs in search for a large nest.

During the Charr Invasion and the Searing, his estate is captured by the Charr and turned into a gladitorial prison, where a Devourer Catapult was used to kill defiant prisoners. Though he hoped to use his knowledge of his former residence to help him escape, he is quickly killed by the devourer after informing Gwen of his plans.

• The Duke is wearing a slightly modified version of Warrior Templar armor. His customized version has elaborate embellishments and patterns adorning it.
