Summary[edit]

I mainly chose dagger attacks who are mostly underused or are a bit too situational to use. I mainly had 3 things in mind with this suggestion. First is to make an effective skill chain with the Golden skills, second an effective skill chain with the Black skills and third to make an elite varsetile Lead Attack. In adition i also adjusted some of the skills that fall outside the name-theme category and made them into varsetile skills than can be used together in one chain as well being used together with name-theme skills.

  • Temple Strike: Instead of an off-hand attack to shut-down the target at a very high cost and recharge and quite difficult to use it now is a lead attack that interrupts and snares the target. Making it a swift lead attack that snares and interrupts the target giving a fast chain that reduces the danger of the target preparing a counter action and can serve as a quick interrupt skill as well.
  • Desperate Strike: It has nice damage but it's much too conditional for serious use. Since there already is a lead attack that deals large damage, being Unsuspecting Strike, i saw no reason to keep it as a lead attack that deals such a large ammount of damage. To give it a place in the chains i turned it into a cheap fast activating lead attack with a moderatly low recharge and a decent ammount of damage.
  • Lotus Strike: I turned it into a lead attack costing less energy and giving back less energy and having a much shorter recharge. In it's current form it isn't a very viable skill to take since it already has a high energy cost making it difficult to use when you need the energy it gives. It's long recharge doesn't help it's use either. As a lead attack that returns energy at a low cost can help using a chain that is preceded by one or more skills that cost energy and could leave you with too little energy to use the chain.
  • Blades of Steel: A powerful dual attack but still one with limited use and requires you to have a slow chain requiring multiple ammounts of dagger attacks. To make it easier to use it's damage, activation and recharge have been reduced making it a fast strong dual attack.
  • Nine Tail Strike: I simply reduced it's recharge to put it more in line with other dual attacks to make it more playable in chains.
  • Vampiric Assault: I moved it to Dagger Mastery and reduced it's recharge to make it more playable.
  • Wild Strike: Since the buff to Fox Fangs it has largely fallen out of use. To make it see use i removed the requirement of the lead attack allowing it to remove stances easier and dual attacks to be used easier. This change should allow it to see use again but in a different form than it currently is designed to do.
  • Shattering Assault: I moved it back to Dagger Mastery (and Fox's Promise back to Critical Strikes). It's effect remains the same but it's recharge has been increased and it's cost reduced and has gained a fast activation time and counts as an off-hand attack instead of a dual attack.

Golden

  • Golden Fang Strike: It now functions as a dual attack that inflicts a deep wound for a short duration. The reason i turned it into a dual attack is that currently Twisting Fangs preceded by off-hand attacks that are more popular and effective in use to inflict a deep wound than a chain with Golden Fang Strike as off-hand in it. Changing it into a dual attack gives it better and more effective use regarding such chains. It also gives the Golden attacks a dual attack.
  • Golden Lotus Strike: I changed into an off-hand attack giving back quite a large ammount of energy. I turned it into an off-hand since i changed Lotus Strike into a lead attack and to replace Golden Fang Strike as off-hand attack.
  • Golden Phoenix Strike: Since the change to Wild Strike this skill would definitly fall out of use in it's current form. To let it remain it's use it now inflicts AoE burning condition. It now requires a dual attack allowing larger chain options.
  • Golden Skull Strike: I changed it into a dual attack that requires a lead attack and causes a knock down when you are enchanted. Altough it's effect does not seem impressive on first sight it's lead attack requirement allows a very fast knock down chain.

With these changes players are able to make effective chains with the golden skills.

Black

  • Black Lotus Strike: I changed it into an off-hand attack for the same reason as Golden Lotus Strike. I also balanced it's cost and energy gain better matching Golden Lotus Strike. It's recharge remains the same but it's activation time has been decreased to give it better play and a good follow up for Black Mantis Thrust when using a hex that costs a high ammount of energy such as Seeping Wound.
  • Black Spider Strike: I turned it into a dual attack inflicting poison condition and dealing large damage. In it's current form and high cost makes it very difficult to use. Changing it into a dual attack should give it much better use and playability.

The change to these 2 skills should allows players to create a proper and effective black chain.

That concludes Dagger Mastery
