Apologies for my goof up. Thanks to Poke for cleaning up after me. Transitioning between internal wikis and the official wiki sometimes leaves me muddled, particularly after lunch. Matthew Moore 22:46, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Haha, no problem :) Looking at the IP's contributions already showed me that this should be real. Anyway thanks for the update notes! poke | talk 22:47, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Calculated Risk[edit]

rip. -Cursed Angel Q.Q 22:54, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

I think it was balanced before, tbh. — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 1:08, 30 Jul 2010 (UTC)

This is just like Confusing Images. even more useless now! Previously Unsigned 04:17, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Completely agree. I can understand the bug being fixed for PvP, but PvE? Really? This is going in the ever growing list of pointless skills now. Someone Cakey 17:36, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
I'd rather have it in PvP too. You already have Pain Inverter and can FC recharge this like woah. Previously Unsigned 16:59, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
Removing the damage cap would be nice. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә User Aliceandsven 3.png ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 04:00, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
I'd rather the damage cap just be buffed to the same as the PvE version, because the cap is good for Expression error: Unrecognised word "balance" on the PvE version (where bosses and things hit for hundreds) and people will whine if the damage cap is only removed on the PvP version. -~=Ϛρѧякγ User Sparky, the Tainted guided sig.png (τѧιк) 04:41, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Or just make an actual skill that reflects the victims skills back at them... like Confusion, which is such a cool idea. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә User Aliceandsven 3.png ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 01:13, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Energy Surge[edit]

Energy Surge Energy Surge

Is still imbalanced. Glad to see we're fixing one build at a time. I mean, it's not like Esurge is also a mesmer skill or anything.Rolain1 23:04, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Every single update since the huge mesmer buff has been extremely disapointing to any pvper --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 128.189.191.28 (talk).
Pretty much, it's fun to see everyone forming for mindless fame farms running Dual E-Surge, but that's not really the point of HA. You shouldn't be able to roll any team you like just because the devs can't manage to control power creep. Rolain1 16:31, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Livia in Talmark Wilderness[edit]

So was the Livia in Talmark Wilderness bug fixed in this update or the previous update? --Silver Edge 01:56, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Unnatural Signet[edit]

Sigh...why do they keep doing this "disables all your non-primary skills" crap for balancing buffed skills. Unnatural Signet was actually used occasionally for spirit control in HA before it was buffed, now it's not good for that or anything. Zen` 02:54, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Spirit control?. I never saw the old US being played in my life. Roar! Poki#3 (talk) 03:15, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
It's funny because I've seen unnatty sig used in HA for spirit control, but never Gaze of Fury. — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 3:17, 30 Jul 2010 (UTC)
I've never seen either used for spirit control, I've only seen Signet of Binding 99.100.156.169 04:42, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
Nobody used binding in HA (limited use in GvG) because it's useless for ranger spirits (NR, tranq, QZ, IH). Hex groups would sometimes stick unnatural signet on a VoR mesmer, it was actually used a fair amount during the peak of the IWAY / sway metas. With sway groups now running a soul twisting rit the old unnatural signet would be even better. At any rate it's completely useless now. Zen` 06:28, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, disabling all secondary profession skills is a stupid mechanic. This isn't GW2, we should be encouraged to use secondary profession skills. -~=Ϛρѧякγ User Sparky, the Tainted guided sig.png (τѧιк) 07:00, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
Tbh its not that a stupid mechanic. Look when it was 1st introduced, It was on Hidden caltrops and Mark of Insecurity, both skills at the time were used on non-sins rather then sins beacuse it was far more useful for them due to sins had the BB bar which was far more powerful then either of the MoI or HC sins that were about aswell. This change to Unnatural signet is a clever way to stop mespike as it prevents having 2 or 3 me/mo with heals and prots so the team doesnt die, while making Shadow Shroud and AUgury of Death longer gap between each gap, though i have heard it doesnt stop either of them since it recharges longer then the disable anyway. 92.3.240.22 07:53, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
This is the equivalent of removing the skill from the game, which is not that smart. Instead of reverting the skill to its original behavior with a shorter recharge, they made the skill useless. Yup, that is how we know Anet. Koda User Koda Kumi UT.jpeg Kumi 11:45, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
HC and MoI were both buffed skills as well. My point was that it's been very bad for the game to buff skills to insane levels, creating degenerate metagames, then either never deal with buffed skills properly or nerf to the point where they are worse than they were pre-buff. Zen` 14:59, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
It would be fine if the skills were actually useful or viable options on a bar that had skills only from the primary class, but that doesn't happen very often. The implement is a little too blunt when it means that a mesmer with Signet of Humility can't really be your hard-rez. Misery 15:28, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
Finally some mesmer reworks, they need to do more, but stop nerfing it and fix the Fast Casting attribute so HM monsters can not abuse the buffs da##it Rogueonion 14:41, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

You know what makes for good spirit control? A warrior. FleshAndFaith 21:02, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

That means that warriors aren't killing shit. — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 21:32, 31 Jul 2010 (UTC)
It only takes two seconds for a warrior to kill a single offensive or nature spirit. Which makes them good options unless, you know, someone decides to use passive (aka good) or multiple spirits. -~=Ϛρѧякγ User Sparky, the Tainted guided sig.png (τѧιк) 22:37, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
No, it takes a war a couple of seconds of hitting a spirit to kill it. That matters because oath shot rangers and soul twisting rits don't put spirits up in wars' faces: they put them in the most out-of-the-way place that they can, often spread out to make the inconvenience of killing them as high as possible.
As if getting to run across the map to kill a spirit isn't good enough, there's usually some other fun present for you wars when they try to kill spirits. In the case of oath shot rangers, there may/may not be a trap stacked on top of the spirit, and in the case of soul twisting rits, there may/may not be a Shadowsong (fortunately, it's almost always Pain) waiting to say hi to you when you go to kill Shelter.
The best part, though, is that if you're in range of a spirit spammer, you're probably not anywhere near anyone else on the team, which makes you incredibly easy to prot. I mean, on top of blind and whirling defenses and snares and traps.
tl;dr spirit control is a shitfest if you're a warrior and you'd be more useful doing other stuff. — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 23:28, 3 Aug 2010 (UTC)

@FleshAndFaith: As Raine said when you're killing spirits you're not putting any pressure on their backline. Same goes for using a fire ele to knock down spirits, it saps off part of your offense. Using a warrior for spirit control is also risky; the old sway with trappers will dust / barb trap important spirits, the newer backbreaker sway can instagib anyone who overextends for a spirit. Both cases it can force your monks into bad positioning. Spirits are a terrible game mechanic in general and having a big spirit buff (soul twisting) along with one solution for spirit control (unnatural signet) changed has made sway builds as bad as ever. Fixed a bug that caused High Commissioner Gyills to use Entourage.[edit]

Why is this hilarious? It's not even a battle NPC Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә User Aliceandsven 3.png ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 08:31, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

It's deserving of a place in the top ten, but I'm not sure if I'd personally consider this a new low. User A F K When Needed Signature Icon.jpg A F K When Needed 13:18, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
Neither do I it's just a little funny. It makes sense because the guild lord shares the model but what does th4e model have to do with this?? Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә User Aliceandsven 3.png ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 01:10, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
