- Jormungand spawns alongside two Frost Wurms.
- If the boss does not appear, a solitary Frozen Elemental or Frost Wurm will sometimes spawn instead.
- Some players believe that the appearance of these other foes at any potential spawning location means that Jormungand will not appear in the current instance. However, no one has published sufficient research to confirm or deny this theory.

- Jörmungandr is the world-circling serpent from Norse mythology. He is one of the three children of Loki, the Norse god of mischief, and is brother to Fenrir and Hel.
