Dragon Festival 2016[edit]

So, I'm only getting the festival quests on half of my characters. I know it won't do any good to complain to Anet. I'm just wondering if anyone else is having this issue? Cy2600 18:08, 3 July 2016 (UTC)

DF coming 2007? No.[edit]

About a fifth of the way down in this chat log Gaile says it's unlikely the DF will return for 2007. Kstarfire 16:42, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Apparently, there is going to be the Dragon Festival...except it's quite a bit shorter this time around. =( Kite 19:13, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Dragon Festival[edit]

moved from User talk:Gaile Gray

The Dragon Festival will return on August 10th weekend.. which is great... And it looks like everything will be available... I just have one question for Gaile... is it the same exact demon mask? Chik En 19:42, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Oh and here is the info about it for those that think I am crazy ;) Dragon Fesitval Returns Chik En 19:45, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Yes, it is a repeat of the event in August. We are not offering a new event, but simply a second opportunity for players to enjoy the DF, particularly since so many were affected by latency issues connected with the router provider at our data center in Frankfurt. This is a chance for everyone to acquire this year's gift -- the demon mask -- and to enjoy (or re-enjoy) the various games, quests, and so forth. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 19:57, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
This is just my opinion but...can you have ANY mask other than the demon mask up for grabs? Done25
I never got last years dragon mask *Hint* Hint* *Nudge* *Nudge* ;) --Alien User Alien Sig.png 20:06, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
A little off topic but makes me wonder if the hall of monuments will the collectable monument be not only for mini pets but also for masks? If it does then... I hope old masks can not be aquired in any other way... unless you do FOW or UW in Hard mode and bring 100 ecto :) to meet some mask creation NPC in a deep dark corner heh Chik En 20:11, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Yeah i've wondered that for a while, I shall be extremely disapointed if I cant. I love my festival hats, if you see me in a town or outpost I will most likely be wearing one. :) I will be very upset if I have to say goodbye to them when playing GuildWars 2. --Alien User Alien Sig.png 21:17, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
I hope they can be brought to GW2 because then when we walk around with them people will type /bow to anybody who has a Halloween hat from 2005 and they will know that person has been around! -- User NatalieBlack sig.jpg Natalie Black 00:42, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
I would be really sad if we didn't have a hatmaker in GW2. Let me see if I can cattleprod the desi...*ahem*... "strongly advocate amongst design team members" for such a thing. :) --Gaile User gaile 2.png 01:03, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
On the homepage, it says that they are resetting territory changes to 4 on the 10th, does that mean we get 4 changes added(for example, if I had 3 changes, I have 7) or is it going to be all set to 4 changes? 76.80.114.221 22:10, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Couple of things here:

  • The event begins at 12:01 AM Pacific time, not Noon Pacific time. At least so I believe. I've sent a note to ask, internally, but when you consider we have quests beginning at 4:00 AM Pacific, how could the event start four hours later? ;)
  • The Demon Mask in August will be the same as that in July. This is a repeat, primarily aimed at those who were unable to attend, or who had difficulty during the event. Please be considerate and not rail about getting the same item -- we don't have time to produce new items, and the repeat of an event actually requires that we keep the gift the same.
  • I do not think that "assigned gifts" have been implemented for the DF. It's an idea that players asked me to take to the programmers for the future, and I did take it, but we're working on the last few weeks of GW:EN development, and I doubt very much if we changed that code.
  • The "territory switch counter" will be reset to a total of four. If you've never used your territory switches, you'll have four. If you've used them all, you'll have four. If you were an earlier purchaser, when there were five potential changes, you'll be set to four to avoid being "orphaned" in a non-home territory. (That's why we changed to four for players who joined later; we had so many people using five and then "getting stuck" where they didn't really choose to remain.)

I hope that's helpful information. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 23:06, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Presents are indeed personalized/customized for a given character during this redux edition. Thanks you very much for passing the word to the developpers. Jaxom 10:07, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
You're very welcome. Shana, one of our programmers, made that possible, and I agree with you that it's great. In fact, here's a bit of extra info: The number of gifts that drop was actually nudged up a bit, so the average per player will be a bit higher than it was for the first run. :) --Gaile User gaile 2.png 00:16, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
A question about the hats: can we have a hatmaker in the GH soon or late? ----InfestedHydralisk Shadow Prison.jpg 00:24, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
It's a possibility in the future. The request has been forwarded, but it just hasn't been arranged yet. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 17:41, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

DF '08?[edit]

Has there been anything mentioned about it at all? I really enjoy the DF...hopefully it'll get here soon...I mean it's usually around the beginning of July...208.63.194.21 23:19, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Its coming...just wait for the info to be released :). Dominator Matrix 23:25, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Dragon Festival 2009[edit]

Is the "related articles" needed? The links to past DF's are located in the bottom info box. Magic User Magic Signature Ico.jpg Talk 22:36, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

I wanna see more districts lose[edit]

Tengu mask[edit]

Tengu mask needs to be added to the list. Its actually the first one that's offered. Ramei Arashi 03:40, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Link to gw2w or not??[edit]

So far this page hasn't had the 'GW2 also has a page bout...' button. For the time being I think that is fully appropiate, but with this years date coming closer I would like to start a discussion. So far there have been three festival's that are somehow related to festivals in GW2. The most precise link is halloween. the name is the same. The lore (mad king thorn) is the same and the theme (candy corn, spiders, bats, trick or treat) is the same. only the starting and end date is slightly different. Wintersday shares the same name, but has shifted a bit in lore. The lore has changed with the removal of the Dwayna vs Grenth story part. But the theme of the festival (snow, snowbal fights, etc) is the same and the date is again roughly the same. Dragon festival and Dragon Bash share (slightly) different names. The lore is different but that is expected cause GW2 isn't in Cantha (atleast at the moment), but the idea behind the lore is the same. Dragon festival is to remember the descruction cause by Shiro (jade wind) and the following rebuilding of the country, while Dragon Bash is a festival to celebrate and 'mock' the evil elder dragon's. On top of that it is tight to the 4th of July in the states and both include fireworks show. So the name and the date is simular but slightly different. The lore is different but rleated and the theme is the same. Long story to put down my point. too long didn't read?? If dragon bash in gw2 is repeated this year I don't see why it is different then Wintersday and it should have a link button to dragon bash on gw2w and gw2w should have a link button to here.195.240.63.18 23:46, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

If it is repeated, sure. The removal of Lion's Arch from gw2 might hinder that a bit though. -Chieftain Alex 10:46, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

Level requirement[edit]

Is the minimal character level for Dragon Festival quests the same as for quests during Canthan New Year, which is 5? If yes, please make a note in the article. Thanks! --37.190.52.108 15:54, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
