Weekend Event[edit]

is Double XP for elite captures and double green item drop rate. — User Balistic Pve Sig.png Balistic 23:22, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

this week its double in Heroes' Ascent- User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 10:12, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
How does one edit the main page so the weekend event is shown? It's announced now, but not yet updated on the wiki main page. Sjeng talk 15:38, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
A sysop has to edit it, as it is directly transcluded onto the main page, thus it is a target for vandalism. -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 15:49, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Since the weekend events are pretty much exactly as last year can't they be automated like all the other items on the page?- TheRave talk (talk) 18:17, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
Done. -- User Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 04:13, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

End time[edit]

Wintersday 2009 is going to end at noon Pacific Time, not midnight, so "07:00" UTC should be changed to "20:00". Also note that the end time for the other weekend events after Wintersday is finished should be "08:00" UTC, since daylight saving time has ended. --Silver Edge 01:51, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

I did think about that (the Wintersday ending at noon part, anyway), but I figured it wasn't worth the hassle remembering to change the time back next time, as I can't imagine anyone forgetting that it's Wintersday after 2 weeks of it and with the mainpage decorations up... Am I giving people too much credit again? Ah well. Because you asked so nicely, Silver Edge. - Tanetris 03:20, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. =D --Silver Edge 07:39, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

An Idea[edit]

for more information: Itay_Alon/lab:activities --Itay Alon 20:28, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Care to elaborate? I don't exactly get what you're implying. WhyUser talk:Why 23:56, 14 March 2010 (UTC) Oh, you want to include references to predictions of future activities, I get it now. I don't know, we could do it I suppose, but it might clutter up the main page. I don't have a strong opinion on it. Anyone else? WhyUser talk:Why 23:58, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
A see also section would take up far too much room to be displayed on the main page. And btw., if I ever have enough time to get it working, my version is planned to have two tabs for "today" and "tomorrow". poke | talk 09:34, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
I want to add "tomorrow" section, but still need to learn how to do that.--Itay Alon 14:11, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
don't know to do it, if someone who knows and can help me it will be great did it :).--Itay Alon 15:00, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

I need an ok to change "today" part ("tomorrow" not ready yet).--Itay Alon 18:10, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

What did you change?? poke | talk 18:20, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
Archive added divided by years and months ("2010/03" or "201003"), and modify the information of the "Today" does not require intervention--Itay Alon 18:25, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
The current data never required any intervention (read the prediction talk page), and the archives clutter up too much. Also the Sandford data is missing. poke | talk 19:19, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
Are you sure?!?! we need to copy the information from predictions table to the main table. In my code you need do nothing, it will update alone, and sort by years and months. --Itay Alon 19:24, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
Your code requires the same table, it's just somewhere else. I don't get how that is any different. Also the point in the wiki article Zaishen Challenge Quest is that people are able to get information there. The main page is just an extra, but not the main thing. poke | talk 19:28, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
Does not contradict.--Itay Alon 19:43, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
It does, because there is no point in keeping two independent but identical lists up to date. poke | talk 19:51, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
Yse it is: when the main page not showing information because people forget to update the table is not ok... --Itay Alon 20:04, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
Read above. poke | talk 20:05, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
Another people? --Itay Alon 06:10, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
Really I don't see the difference between your "today" thing and what we have already, except that yours is lacking an entry for Nicholas. So I'm gonna say keep it as it is until you can explain what exactly is different and how it benefits us. WhyUser talk:Why 10:30, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
Nicholas will still include in the main page, I just changed how Zaishen works. In my code, I changed the archive to sort by years and months, and the code (that will copy to the main page) of Zaishen part (only, Nicholas will work the same) know to take information from the right page alone without intervention of people who update the tables (like now).--Itay Alon 13:36, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
No, your thing works exactly the same; all you changed is the source for the data. Instead of using the already existing table, you simply use (multiple) different pre-filled tables, and as such require those tables to be kept up to date, whenever something changes (or you run out of predictions).
I think we can easily forget about this now, until the discussion here is over. poke | talk 18:17, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
Don't really, the past won't change, so you can create each month a new page with information for the next one, so when A.net change something, you needn't to change to much. and also you got useful archives (by years and months).
The main advantages in the idea I presented are the able to manage information more organized, more clearly tracking, and code that except for changes to the roof of one month would not require involvement beyond that.--Itay Alon 12:13, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

It Works[edit]

I was going through and making everything to make them work. If I missed anything, let me know Dervish-tango-icon-20.pngDevi Talk 15:33, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

Talk Like a Pirate Event is over[edit]

I think this Special Event is over, we did 3 Deep runs today and didn't saw Grog drops at all. User Yoshida Keiji Signature.jpg Yoshida Keiji (talk) 17:39, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

… other days[edit]

Nice addition. Can someone also add "… next week", and "… next month"? --173.55.119.156 18:52, 1 February 2015 (UTC)

Thanks. Tomorrow's events were something that had bugged me for a while - it is something I frequently check when its about an hour to the change-over.
As to the next week + next month... it would be difficult to summarise the 7 activities for a whole 7 days in the small space available in a tooltip, let alone 30. If you would care to present an example of what you want (you could copy some of the raw wikitext from the /activities page) + it fits, then we'll have a go at it. -Chieftain Alex 19:17, 1 February 2015 (UTC)
I forgot to say, following the link to Daily activities still shows the information you need. -Chieftain Alex 19:18, 1 February 2015 (UTC)
