An error code is a message displayed by the Guild Wars game client when an error prevents the game from working properly. Additional information can be found on the Guild Wars Error Codes page.

Indicates a server error. The server may be inaccessible due to an update, bug, large download or network issues. The information posted on the official Guild Wars Twitter account may contain additional details.

005 Yes "Guild Wars was unable to connect to the game server due to a network error. This may be caused by Internet routing issues or a server network failure.

If this problem persists, please visit the Guild Wars support website."

A firewall, antivirus, or router is blocking port 6112 and/or port 80. Netgear routers are also known to present problems.
058 Yes "Guild Wars was unable to connect to any login servers. This is very likely caused by an Internet routing issue.

If this problem persists, please visit the Guild Wars support website."

007 Yes "Your connection to the server was lost. Please check your Internet connection." Indicates a connection error. This means the connection between your PC and the server was interrupted, or never established. The problem may be on your system (firewall, router, modem, etc.), with your ISP or a connection problem at the server.
026 Yes "Guild Wars was unable to find the server address because a DNS (Domain Name Server) request failed.

Please try again and if this problem persists, visit the Guild Wars support website."

027 - Invalid Name: Too Short.
011 Yes "The password you have provided is incorrect.

Please check your password and try again."

019 - "Guild Wars was unable to find the mission you requested. Please try again in a few minutes" Indicates an internal server error. It can be that data on the server are out of sync due to a bug or corrupted data.
021 Yes "The email address "<text that was entered into the Account Name text box>" was not found.

If you already have an ArenaNet account, please try again. If you requested a change of account name and have confirmed this request via email, try entering your new account name. If you have not previously created an ArenaNet account, select "Create Account" to create a new account and password. If you continue to have trouble accessing your account, visit the Guild Wars support website."

If the text that was entered into the Account Name text box was not a valid account name and had a "@" somewhere in the middle of the text, e.g. "1@2" or "1@ncsoft.com".
- - "The email address "<text that was entered into Account Name text box>" is not a valid email address.

For Korea, your email address must end with "@ncsoft"
For Japan, your email adress [sic] must edit [sic] with "@ncjapan"
For China/CT, your email adress [sic] must end with "@china-ct"
For China/Cnc, your email address must end with "@china-cnc"
For all other regions, your ArenaNet account name must be a valid Internet email address.

If the text that was entered into the Account Name text box was not a valid email address, i.e. it did not have a "@" somewhere in the middle of the text, e.g. "abc".
029 Yes "The character name "<text>" is already in use by another player.

Please select a new name and try again."

031 - "The character name "<text>" contains words or partial words that are not permitted in Guild Wars.

034 - "Your transaction is still in progress. Please wait a few moments and try again." -
035 - "You have been disconnected from Guild Wars because another client has connected using your account. Please try again later." Indicates a problem with your account. If you installed any third party programs, your password may have been stolen.
041 - "You have attempted to create too many characters recently." This is an anti-flooding measure aimed to prevent users from disrupting the servers by hitting the character creation again and again. Wait for a bit and try to create your character again.
043 - "You have already created the maximum number of characters for this account. Please delete one of your existing characters if you wish to create a new one." -
045 Yes "Your account has been suspended from Guild Wars for offensive behavior, which is a breach of the User Agreement and Rules of Conduct. You will be able to join the game in approximately X hours."
OR:
"We have detected that your account may have been accessed by an unauthorized individual. For your security, further access to the account has been blocked until this matter can be resolved. To restore access to this account, please contact Support and one of our representatives will assist you."
OR:
"Your account has been banned from Guild Wars for a breach of the User Agreement and/or Rules of Conduct. This ban is permanent."
OR:
"Your Guild Wars has been blocked for an account issue. Please contact Support for more information"
OR:
"Your Guild Wars account has been terminated for payment fraud. This action is permanent."
OR:
"Your Guild Wars account has been terminated for using a bot or other third-party program, which is a breach of the User Agreement and Rules of Conduct. This action is permanent. "
Indicates an account mark or a ban. This means you have most likely breached the User Agreement or Rules of Conduct.

Or when the account has been suggested to have been hacked.

059 - If the account has been logged in for more than 24 hours it will be disconnected. Also, if the account is logged in and is inactive for more than 10 hours with no game play occurring, it will be disconnected. -
070 Yes "You have recently changed your account email address. Please wait a few minutes before trying again." This is flood protection to prevent people from overloading the server with changed email addresses.
102 Yes "The access key you have entered is invalid. Some numbers look similar to letters, such as '8' and 'B', and '6' and 'G'. Please check your code and try again. If this problem persists, visit the Guild Wars support website." Indicates a problem with the access key you were trying to enter.
103 Yes "The access key you have entered is in use. Try entering in another access key. If this problem persists, visit the Guild Wars support website."
105 - (Your account already has access to the rights this key provides.)
113 - (Incorrect access key)
119 - "Your account has already registered this key. Please keep the key in safe place; you can use it later to retrieve your password or to obtain support."
122 Yes (Access key disabled)
121 Yes "The access key you have entered was for an event that has already finished. Try entering in another key or visit the Guild Wars support website." -
141 - "Your play time has ended. To continue playing, please purchase Guild Wars. See www.guildwars.com for more information." Your trial has ended.
165 - "You do not have the Guild Wars campaign necessary to select that character." Occurs after a preview weekend when you are trying to use a test character, or when you have an expired trial key and trying to access the character(s) tied to it.
167 - "Guild Wars is currently down for maintenance. We apologize for any inconveniences this maintenance may cause, and hope to have Guild Wars running again in short order. For more information, please see the Network News page at www.GuildWars.com." -
173 - "Transaction failed. Timeout when trying to connect to the shop server." Try again, or try on a more stable connection.
181 - "The Guild Wars Official Store is currently down for maintenance. We apologize for any inconveniences this maintenance may cause and hope to have the Guild Wars Official Store running again in short order." -
220 - "Network Error .
Please check your connection to the Internet and try again"

Occurs when you are trying to enter the Guild Wars In-Game Store.
223 - "You entered a map in an invalid manner." Occurs if you attempt to load a map that you cannot enter.
224 - "You may not log into Guild Wars from this location because this Internet address (IP address) has been permanantly banned for repeated violations of the User Agreement and Rules of Conduct." Contacting support over this issue is highly recommended.
225 - "You may not log in from this location because this internet address (IP address) is believed to be running an open proxy or relay. You must connect directly to Guild Wars. Please see www.GuildWars.com/support/open-proxy.com.html [verification requested] for further information." While the webpage linked to is not valid, the code is. ArenaNet blocks open proxies to prevent bot networks. See Game updates/20080318 and Open Proxy support page for more information.
226 - - Appearing this code means your account is suspended due to unknown reasons(expected as you've not logged in for 10 years over or your account is moved from closed region servers like Korea, Japan) even though you might write your ID and password correctly. You must send a ticket.
227 Yes "We don't recognize your account login information. Please try again.

- Have you typed and capitalized your password correctly?

- Did you forget your account name? Get help from Customer Support
- Have you correctly typed the name of a character on your account?"

Indicates you have entered an incorrect security question (name of a character).

If you keep trying and it doesn't work, the game server could be down.

235 Yes - "Indicates that you have already changed the name of the character you selected within the last 30 days."
242 - "Network error .
Please check your connection to the Internet and try again."
The client is unable to connect to the login server.
As of June 2018, Guild Wars uses the same login system as Guild Wars 2.[1]
244 - "Network Error .
Please check your connection to the Internet and try again."

248 - - [verification requested] The game is unable to initialize the log-in system. This is usually the result of an antivirus system or an incompatible operating system: Guild Wars requires that you run Windows XP or later. Added in the June 13th, 2018 update.
249 - "Network Error .
Please check your connection to the Internet and try again."
Possibly due to arena.net's login authenticator down.
3006 - "Network Error .
Please check your connection to the Internet and try again."
Encountered when attempting to create a new account with an email address already registered to Guild Wars 2. You must use a different email address to create an account and can link them afterwards on the Guild Wars 2 Account website.
3023 - "Network error .
Please check your connection to the Internet and try again."
Your account has been locked for security purposes; please reach out to support for assistance.
1751023 - "You entered a card number that is not valid for the type of card you selected." You entered the wrong strings of numbers for the card. Try to follow the cards numbering order.
1751052 Yes - Can occur when attempting to make a purchase in the Guild Wars In-Game Store.
1751058 - fraud suspicion (code=1751058) Indicates using a credit card across a number of accounts too quickly, which prevents further Guild Wars In-Game Store purchases. NCsoft Support recommends waiting 24 hours before attempting again or the counter will be reset to 24 hours with each failed attempt.
1751104 Yes - Indicates that your attempted transaction has been refused by your financial institution.
1751126 Yes - Indicates that your transaction attempt failed due to a connectivity issue between the financial institution and our billing system. If you receive this error, it means that the transaction was not successful.


1751188 Yes - "You will need to contact support so that we may research your account."


1791128 Yes - "You will need to contact support so that we may research your account."


1791131 Yes "In order to complete your Guild Wars purchase, you are required to integrate your Guild Wars game account into the NCSOFT Account Management system. If you are receiving error 1791131 during the integration process, the username you have chosen for your NCSOFT master account is already in use by another user. Please choose a different NCSOFT master account name." -


1791172 Yes - Indicates that the password you entered for your NCSOFT master account in the Guild Wars In-Game Store is incorrect.
4294967 - "Network Error .
Please check your connection to the Internet and try again."
Occurs when trying to create an account with any access key that would not grant access to one of the three main Campaigns.
