Interrupt bots: brand new

Today I was being camped by a mesmer who kept interrupting my quarter-second spells. At first I just though he got a few lucky shots or was quite competent at predicting them; after all, I interrupt a lot of them when I play mesmer myself, and as a monk I played against a lot of good mesmers and rangers. Then I grew sceptic and tried to cast my quarter-second spells at completely random or uncalled moments: he never missed any, except when he was casting something himself or when my 40/40 triggered.
Recently, you did something related to .dll usage in order to get rid of interrupt bots, and that's why I'm opening this section. Maybe this bot is nothing new and I just happened to encounter it today, but I don't think so. Why? Because after five years, I don't remember having ever been against a bot before, not a single time, and that seems a bit of a weird coincidence to me that just a few days after you did something to remove interrupt bots, I encounter one. In other words, this bot is probably new and its sudden popularity (keeping in mind I'm only speaking with my personal encounter) might be worth worrying about.
The mesmer camping me was named Ithica Spellstorm, although it was apparently a PvP character so it may no longer exist, but as I said, it seems to be a new "trend", meaning you shouldn't have any problem spotting suspiciously good interrupters to investigate the matter. 80.10.46.48 13:13, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
You want to contact support, not really Regina's area of expertise. Providing details (time, arena, etc.) can help them. -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 13:17, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
It's about the bots, it's not really about a denounciation so I thought it would be appropriate here, plus I saw the previous discussion on interrupt bots being held here. Sorry for any inconvenience. 80.10.46.65 14:39, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
ArenaNet hasn't implemented any changes, so GWCA (the botting system behind the interrupt bots) is still fully functional. Expect a fix once they've resolved a secure method for making sure files are unaltered and, hopefully, no special launcher can be built to work around it. ··· Danny Pew Pew
So what did the dll update do, besides break the mod to see high res textures in town? User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 15:15, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
It made it harder for idiots who can't even use a dll injector properly to use bots. Fortunately, that covers a tremendous majority of the game population, to the order of about 99.9%. –Jette 15:28, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
Lovely. So now only .1% of the PvP population is invincible. Thats nice and fair. >.> 71.193.48.146 15:31, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
Better than nothing, I guess. As long as they don't leave it at that. User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 15:38, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
...... Uhm... what? i thought the goal of balance was to make it so that 0% is invincible.... So.... actually its not better than nothing.... amirite? 71.193.48.146 15:40, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
didn't know there was an update. :> it probably broke kmod, for sure. if i can be bothered to load up guild wars, i'll take a look-see. ··· Danny Pew Pew 21:00, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
Even starcraft bots so ant doesn't care Lilondra User Lilondra Sig.jpg 16:22, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
Starcraft hasn't played actively in months and was at best an average player when his account was played. So I don't understand what point you're trying to make--TahiriVeila 16:27, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
If 1000 interrupt bots are used, you have a large chance of encountering one. If only 1 is used, that chance is far smaller. I'd say that is better than nothing. -- Arduin talk 16:38, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
I'm saying that Starcraft didn't get ban although his botting was obvious at times (I'm not making this up nor copying someone else,I've experienced it while facing him).@ Arduin, No tbh because it will lower the chance for low lvl pvp and at high lvl pvp people WILL find the way around and get the int bot working again.High lvl shitters now got used to the bot so untill every way of botting is killed they *will* bot Lilondra User Lilondra Sig.jpg 18:13, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

DLL forcing allowed or not?

Reversal of Damage

I'm not sure if I'm on the right page but there's a discription bug, it says: "The next time target ally would take damage life steal." While it should be: "The next time target ally would take damage or life steal." InfestedHydralisk 15:58, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Thats the least of the problems. After all they have broken more things than they repaired.
Again. --Boro 10px‎ 17:51, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

I can't be too sure, myself,

but did you mean to make Precision Shot the best stance removal in the game? --User Ezekial Riddle silverbluesig.pngRIDDLE 03:03, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

How so? User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 03:10, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
I'm considering raging at you for not finding out yourself. --User Ezekial Riddle silverbluesig.pngRIDDLE 05:38, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Regina has nothing to do with actual game development. She's just the community relations manager. This is probably something that belongs on either Gaile's Page (since it's a pretty glaring bug), robert's page (since he handles skill balancing), or in your feeback space. kthx--TahiriVeila 05:45, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Riddle, if you want to make yourself useful, make your comments understandable. Regina is not psychic nor a skill balancer, and cannot predict that something is bugged unless it CLEARLY SAYS SO SOMEWHERE. If you don't care to explain, don't come here acting like a smartass expecting people to read your thoughts beyond the handfull of words you provided. And, as this skill is "obviously" bugged, you should present it as such. Your comment was the equivalent of running around and flailing your arms screaming "IT'S ON FIRE OVER THERE!" in the middle of a barbeque. What? Where? User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 17:03, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
Personally, I don't like assumptions like when thinking it's intentional, when it's a bug and clearly not. I think this section is wrong and Riddle should apologize for his assumption and speculation that it is. The bug should be noted on the bug pages and not here. inb4GWW:NOFORUMorwhatever (I'm so sorry)
Holy shit. Are you kidding me right now? You didn't even take the time to click the link to precision shot that I had provided? Had you taken the time to do so, you would have seen a note that sticks out quite profoundly. It looks a little something like:
Bug Bug.This skill removes target's stance.
Now, had you done your oh-so easy and not-hard homework (i.e. check everything about the past update and all the other stance removal attacks), you would have realized two things: 1) Precision Shot is, indeed, the best stance removal attack in the game (at the moment) and 2) ArenaNet didn't say anything, anywhere about Precision Shot removing stances. If I say a skill is the best stance removal in the game, and yet the skill is only supposed to do damage...well, hell, I shouldn't have to spoonfeed you that answer, nor will I.
Kaisha: ArenaNet could have been toying with the idea of Precision Shot removing stances for whatever period-of-time and meant to discard the changes, but forgot, or ArenaNet simply forgot about the changes they made. Who knows? Not I. However, my message is clear in that something is wrong with Precision Shot.
And finally: Thank you, Tahiri. I'm not going to argue whether or not this is the best place for reporting issues like Precision Shot. What this was designed to do was to bring (more) attention to Precision Shot's stance-removing capabilities.
Now, if you're going to rage at me for being a smartass/dick/whatever you want to call me, please do so on my talk page (← bold so you can't miss it). Let's try to keep discussion on Regina's page as relevant as we can. --User Ezekial Riddle silverbluesig.pngRIDDLE 19:48, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
Take this stuff to the Update talk page. That's where this belongs, as it is where the developers will be looking for your feedback on the update. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 06:40, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

New broken build

New build. Downloaded. Tried to log in. Log in failed. Paniced. Hit Reset password. That worked. NO EMAIL with new password. How long till support gets back to me about this? 98.167.219.46 23:53, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Did the same, its broken for me. Reset the password in NC and that didnt help.
Same! Yet another quality build from anet.--SirBoss 23:56, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Don't panic, they're getting to it. -- Tha Reckoning File:User Tha Reckoning Sig2.jpg 23:57, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
That'll be HILARIOUS if it results in a roll-back but the passwords don't get rolled back while the mail server is still failing or desynchs entirely (in Layman's: STOP PANICKING & STOP RESTTING or you may lose access for much longer!) Also: /facepalmagon frowns on your shenanigans --ilrUser ilr deprav.png 00:06, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
I just conducted a survey in Kamadan, and all 5 of the people there used command-line login. User Raine R.gif is for Raine, etc. 00:09, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
considering all the red warnings and bitching going on about accounts getting stolen, i think its a bit of a sensitive subject. though i figured it is likely an error with whatever approves the password. but its better to be safe than sorry at the moment i believe. i also dont think there will be any issue with flooding the mail server, because if you change the password in the client, it tells you not to expect an email if you are linked to an ncmaster account. once you change it there, you do get a confirmation rather quickly.
More people are showing up, and they all use command-line. Try it and see if it works for you. If you don't know how to open a prompt, just add it to your guildwars shortcut target location. User Raine R.gif is for Raine, etc. 00:13, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
Furthermore, several users report being able to log in after "just changing to [command-line]". User Raine R.gif is for Raine, etc. 00:15, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
Confirm as OP, I was able to log in using the full command line. Including the OLD password before hitting "Reset" so it appears that all the password resets did not occur. 98.167.219.46 00:21, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
