I bow, very nice. Markus Clouser User Markus Clouser signature img.jpg 00:21, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
Indeed. Thank you very much for this! --Curin Derwin 00:35, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
Agreed. This is perfect for this page! Good job and thanks, Santax! However, I would like to offer a correction: The quest Zinn's Task must be completed before the Trial of Zinn becomes available (or completion of Eye of the North, as noted). Simply obtaining MOX does not unlock the trial. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 12:54, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
Also, should the Secret River Passage and its access to Divinity Coast (explorable area) be noted as well? --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 13:01, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
Lion's Arch Keep has some extra, random dialogs between some old dudes. It's not important story wise though. Should it be noted? Roar! Poki#3 (talk) 09:39, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
@Musha: I noted the Secret River Passage, I'll create a seperate column for Divinity Coast if/when they add dialogue there. I did not know you have to complete Zinn's Task (the wiki page I read at the time said you only had to have started it), I'll fix that now.
@Poki: I'm not including the old men dialogues since they're repeatable and don't seem to have any effect on any other WiK content. The random encounters with Peacekeeper NPCs around Kryta fall into this category as well. Technically the same goes for camp dialogues 5-9 (with Thackeray), but people have made a big enough deal of them that I felt they should be mentioned. Scutilla 23:07, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks again for the flowchart :) (Xu Davella 07:54, 27 May 2010 (UTC))

Thank You! This is amazing work, and I will be eternally grateful. Having tried to explain it all repeatedly to every guildie, with the wiki so confuddled in itself, it's nice to finally see a clear path in such proper and organized clarity. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:174.92.88.240 (talk).

Lol. You're telling me! You really did do a good thing here, Scutilla. :D --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 18:00, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

Trial of Zinn[edit]

Completion of EotN is a sufficient condition to access to Trial of Zinn. Elephant 22:21, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

That is actually noted on the flowchart. If you squint your eyes and move your face really close to the screen, you can see the little * next to Trial of Zinn, which has a note that says it can also be accessed through completion of EotN. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 08:32, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, it is kinda hard to spot. I'll probably change it to something more noticeable, like in Zweistein's chart below. Scutilla 01:57, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

and or or?[edit]

Are all of the requirements "ands" or "ors"? e.g. does shining blade camp dialog #4 require zinn's trial? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:71.146.79.113 (talk).

"Ands". Roar! Poki#3 (talk) 02:11, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
Yep, they are ands. Unless otherwise specified in the requirement text. So, yes, dialogue #4 requires zinn's trial. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 08:33, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Courier[edit]

What is the requirement for the courier... It's probably the only thing that's not on there. Sjacie User:Sjacie 09:10, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

From personal research, I'd say the only requirement to the courier is completion of eotn/prophecies. Idmz 11:57, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
There's a bunch of stuff I'm trying to decide whether or not to add, such as Faulken and the allied Vanguard NPCs. On the one hand, more info is good. On the other hand, having to many boxes would clutter the chart and make it unreadable. I'm considering adding a sidebar listing general changes to Kryta after each key event, something like the following:

After Shining Blade Camp appears

  • Shining Blade allied NPCs appear in Krytan explorable areas
  • Random dialogues with Peacekeeper and White Mantle NPCs throughout Kryta

After Zinn and Blimm join the Shining Blade

  • Courier Falken appears in certain explorable areas

After the Ebon Falcons arrive in Lion's Arch

  • Ebon Falcon allied NPCs appear in Krytan explorable areas
  • Random dialogues with Thackeray in Shining Blade Camp
  • Random dialogues with the three old men in Lion's Arch Keep
This would clear up the chart itself to contain only the key events that trigger other events. What do you guys think? Scutilla 01:57, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
It seems that you already know this, but just to document, the Ebon Falcons won't appear as random allies until after the Captain Langmar dialogue in the Lion's Arch Keep. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 03:59, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Arangement[edit]

I took liberty to rearange chart to look a but more navigable, see here: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/User:Zweistein/dummy source file here: http://gw.zweistein.cz/wik.odg (open office drawer)

I specifically wanted to point out inital requirements and that they are "or": (+) element in chart. Thoughts? Zweistein 18:36, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

That definitely does look cleaner than mine; my major complaint is that it's not as easy to find specific events- on my chart everything's sorted by location, so you know at least what column to look under (if you're looking for, say, the SB camp dialogues). The "or" element is a good idea, though.
I will probably redraw the chart from scratch at some point, so I'll keep your ideas in mind when I do so. Scutilla 01:57, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
The only thing Id do would switch the dialog 3 and 4, because currently it looks odd and confusing for people not acquainted with flowcharts.--Neithan DiniemUser Talk:Neithan Diniem 04:03, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Good job on the updated version! It looks great! Are you going to be able to add the SB and EF allies? --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 20:45, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Not sure if I will, since I don't want the chart to get too cluttered. If I do add them it will probably be with the sidebar idea I mentioned above. Scutilla 23:02, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
And done. The chart now contains (hopefully) every bit of WiK content... until they release another update. Scutilla 19:13, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
Awesome job! Thanks! Idmz 20:21, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

To be honest..[edit]

This is the best flowchart. 99.140.226.137 19:24, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Attribution Nit Picking[edit]

We typically don't attribute information to a specific person on the wiki (outside of page/edit histories). I'm talking about the "watermark" credit in the bottom right hand corner. The image will be attributed to you in the upload history but the attribution on the image itself isn't something we do on the wiki. 58.106.158.34 10:43, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

That was mostly something left over from when I originally posted it on GWO. If it's a problem I will remove it when I upload the next version. Scutilla 16:47, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
No problem. In fact, attribution is required, but mostly handled by the history tab. Backsword 06:19, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Shrinkification[edit]

Previously Unsigned, while I appreciate the efforts, I will probably be modding my original file when the next update comes out instead of yours. Since the image's constantly being edited and updated, odds are good that any efforts at condensing the chart will become undone when things need to get moved around or new sections get added. Saving it as a 256-color BMP and back is a good idea though (shaves off far more file size than resizing ever could), I think I will do that from now on. Scutilla 01:53, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

well nothing updated yet. many elements are on similar plains, they can all be lined up to save space. Previously Unsigned 20:37, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Saving visual space isn't too much of a problem, since like I said the color loss shrinks the file size far more than condensing the chart elements could. Scutilla 04:09, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Yes, but that mainly wasn't why did it. You can just look at the chart and see where boxes, arrows, lines, etc should line up horizontally. Previously Unsigned 15:12, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I see what you mean now. Main problem is that I'm doing all this in MS Paint, so any alignment of objects has to be done horizontally. I don't want to send the file off to someone else for cleanup after every update, but if you want to tweak it on your own initiative that's fine. Just be aware that I might choose to edit my copy of the file instead of yours for the next update if there's a substantial amount of new stuff to be added. Scutilla 17:36, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Oh man, you're doing it in Paint! *DIES* Can you try it in The GIMP? You can do rulers in that as well, and you can split it into layers and it would be way easier. This is what I mean (when I did mine though originally I had way too many):
User Previously Unsigned RULERS.png Previously Unsigned 19:37, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Alternatively you could use Paint.NET (which I think has a better interface) and draw guidelines on a new layer (Paint.NET doens't have guidelines): that's interesting, I never thought of that. Previously Unsigned 19:50, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
I have no experience with GIMP, I guess I'm just used to doing things the old-fashioned way XD I'll download it and fool around with it sometime, see if that makes things easier. Scutilla 01:07, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
I think Paint.NET would be easier actually but they're both free alternatives to Photoshop. Now that i think of making layers for my own guidelnes, I kinda like that. Previously Unsigned 03:13, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Dialogue 3[edit]

While I'm here... I need information on Dialogue 3. As seen on the War in Kryta discussion page, I tried zoning several times after Dialogue 4 to get Dialogue 3 to no avail, which is why I added the note about it. However, I've seen other people mentioning that they've seen it after D4, and at least one person saying that they've seen it multiple times on a single character. Can anyone provide a concrete answer to any of those? Scutilla 01:53, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

I am also yet to get the dialogue about the new recruits on many of my characters and mainly just get the one with Zinn, Blimm and GOX arriving at the camp. Maybe SB Camp Dialogue 3 could be shown as coming after 2 but have it then meeting up with after the vanguard have joined showing them training with Thackery. Then you can also have 4 coming off 2 once you have seen the Trial dialogue and thus opening the Keep. --Smithy-Star User Smithyben sig icon.png 02:12, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
I believe that anybody that says they've seen D3 AFTER D4 is mistaken, as are people that claim to have seen it multiple times. Perhaps they've seen it multiple times because they rezoned before the dialogue had finished. I think that once you hve seen D4, you are no longer able to see D3. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 19:30, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
I will leave the note as-is, then. Smithyben, I don't want to add a line from D3 leading into something else because that would imply D3 is a requirement, which it is not. Scutilla 04:09, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

June 3rd Update[edit]

Just noticed it after finishing an anime marathon, and it's late over here so I'll wait til tomorrow to update the chart. I can confirm them for myself in-game, but if anyone knows the requirements for the new content (Wanted: Lovisa, Riverside Assassination, and Evennia in Ascalon) that will speed things along. Scutilla 04:09, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Wanted: Lovisa is available to anybody who has access to the keep, just like any other SB bounty quest. Riverside Assassination is accessible once all the "bonus" SB bounty quests are completed (Wanted: Inquisitor Bauer, Wanted: Inquisitor Lashona, Wanted: Inquisitor Lovisa), and I have not confirmed yet, but it is a safe assumption that Evennia appears in Ascalon once the dialogue between her and the Ebon Vanguard is seen. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 13:21, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Evennia actually doesn't spawn in Ascalon until the "Langmar in LA" dialogue is done, but other than that you're right. I also added a sidebar with the three explorable areas that got added. Scutilla 17:36, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Gwen/Thackeray not part of WiK?[edit]

The Gwen & Thackery dialogues can happen without the War in Kryta...and vice-versa (they require the Wintersday quest sequence). The War in Kryta can happen without the Gwen/Thack dialogue. Doesn't this flow chart make them seem linked?  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:17, 25 September 2010 (UTC)

Because WiK actually can't be completed until the Gwen & Thackeray dialogues are complete. To be specific, Evennia doesn't show up to recruit the Ebon Vanguard until after Gwen rejects Thackeray; and without the recruitment of the Ebon Vanguard, the WiK story can not proceed. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 08:01, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll double check that on another toon that's coming up on being WiK ready. My memory is that I didn't listen to most of the Gwen/Thack convos before the assassinations. (Then again, I tuned out — there was an awful lot of talking for all the zoning/rezoning I did.)  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 08:16, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
I'm not sure that's correct, Musha. I was offered the chance to do the Battle for Lion's arch before doing the scavenger hunt. It just happened that I decided to do the hunt before completing WiK, as I wanted to do the latter with more guildies around. So yes, the flow chart is quite accurate. G R E E N E R 09:17, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Interesting... So it looks like I'm probably wrong here. As long as you have the Keep unlocked, you should have access to the full line of quests. So, I'm wondering now, if you never recruit the Ebon Vanguard by doing the Gwen & Thackeray dialogues, do the Ebon Falcons still appear in the Battle for Lion's Arch? --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 19:55, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
Indeed. As soon as my toon finishes eotn, I'll try to check that out by being careful to avoid HoM. Or perhaps something else happens? e.g. WiK goes fine, but you lose the opportunity to help with picnic?  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 22:37, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
I have found this chart very useful but also discovered an error. I have recently started 3 characters through WiK and you must get Thackery to Lion's Arch Keep before you can pick up the three Wanted Quests and begin to complete the WiK Lion's Arch quests. MegaGrubby 22:12, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

November 18 update[edit]

This needs to be updated because you need to do the Thackey & Gwen stuff + enlist the help of the ebon vanguard before the Inquisitors are avaiable as a quest. I dont know what else is different. Force 20:40, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, thought they wanted to make it less annoying to do. Before it was just Zinn's Trial + Blahblahblah done moving on to the Inquisitor's. Now it looks like we are required to watch more blahblahblahblahblahblah, yay for afking. Aro User Aro Signature Logo.gif 08:54, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
