The Elite Deaf Team is a small group of gamers who are looking to grow in number while pursuing their unique goal of providing a successful gaming environment for deaf players. Primarily focused on GvG, the guild shares tips and introductions here.
May 29th, 2007[edit]
The inaugural season of the $100,000 Tournament has come to an end. Congratulations to Heart Of Ashes And Dust [HAnD], winner of the GvG Championship, and to Piccolo Il, winner of the Hero Battle championship. Look for a chart with lots of tournament data, match reports, and an article about the first season in the coming days. And remember, you can jump into the June tournament season now!

Following on the excitement of the recent Design-A-Weapon Contest, this is a great time to kick off another contest. We're offering the opportunity to name a boss monster in Guild Wars: Eye of the North through entering this year's Brand the Bosses contest. You've read the previews, you know a bit about the races that will be featured in GW:EN, and you may have just the perfect name for one of the biggest of the baddies. Oops! We seem to have had a glitch in our GMT conversions. We want to let you know that the $100,000 Tournament Series May Championships will begin at 19:00 GMT on both Saturday and Sunday. That is, the GvG championship starts at 19:00 GMT on Saturday, May 26 and the 1v1 Championship starts at 19:00 GMT on Sunday, May 27.

This weekend offers the last chance to earn qualifier points for this month's championships. The final GvG May Championship will start at 05:00 GMT on Saturday, May 26. The final 1v1 May Championship will start at 08:00 GMT on Sunday, May 27. You or your guild must have at least 20 QPs in order to participate in this weekend’s championships.
Watch competitors from around the world compete in the May Championships for over $10,000 in prizes! The GvG championship starts at 19:00 GMT on Saturday, May 26 and the 1v1 Championship starts at 19:00 GMT on Sunday, May 27.
And get ready to start earning qualifier points for the June Championship! The June GvG season will start at 04:00 GMT on Sunday, May 27 and the June 1v1 Season will begin at 07:00 GMT on Monday, May 28.
The European version of the "Return to Tyria" Sweepstakes is now live. Residents of many European countries can now toss their hat into the ring for a chance at great prizes. Go here for more information.

We recently changed the log-in screen for many of the locations within the Battle Isles. In response to player request, we are happy to offer the new log-in screen image in the form of a new Guild Wars wallpaper. You can find a wide variety of wallpapers in our Gallery, and the newest one can be located here.

Clan Roxor is a small, tight-knit guild that focuses, for the most part, on GvG gameplay. The guild formed seven years ago, and in this week's guild profile they introduce the group and some of the members, and also share some of their insight into the game itself.

With a new week comes a new competitive analysis. This one focuses on the many different avatars available to Dervishes, delves lightly into lore concerning Guild Wars gods, and reveals why Melandru Dervishes are so popular compared to those that are based upon other avatars or that use different elite skills.

The recent Guild Wars 2007 Design-A-Weapon contest broke all records. We had the higher number of entries of any of our art contests to date, and the judges had the hardest time ever selecting the winners, because the item concepts were just so amazing! In fact, we've shaken up the prize tree to shower rewards on even more participants than originally planned. Today, we're delighted to announce the winners, the honorable mention recipients, and the finalists, on the DAW Page.

As you may know, the Automated Tournament System kicks off on Tuesday night at 5:00 PM Pacific (00:00 GMT Wednesday morning). We've put together a detailed FAQ to help answer any last-minute questions that you may have. We look forward to seeing you in the tournament!

Members of the Guild Wars Development Team will be taking part in a dev chat at 4:00 PM Pacific this Friday, May 11th. The chat will take place in the Livewire lobby of the GameSpy Arcade. You can get instructions on downloading the Arcade program here. Once you've downloaded and installed Arcade, log in and then click on the Livewire button under "My Games" on the left and you will be taken into the chat. We will look forward to chatting with you!

Automated Tournaments have now been enabled for final wide-scale testing. The ladder rating changes, Qualifier Points, and Tournament Reward Points are now properly set for the coming season. Qualifier Points will be wiped on Monday in order to formally kick off the tournament season. However, Tournament Reward Points and ladder rating changes will remain. You will not yet be able to spend Tournament Reward Points, but in the future, Tolkano, the Tournament NPC, will allow you to exchange these points to upgrade the appearance of PvP items. Check the ATS or our recent article for updated match schedules for the first season, and we'll provide you with additional information in the near future.

Players have asked about the latest news on Guild Wars competitive play, specifically the Automated Tournament System. You can read an update on the plans, find out about schedule changes incorporated thanks to community feedback, and learn how you or your guild can qualify for May’s $10,000 worth of prizes in today’s article.
Their name harkens to the members' Dutch history and their guild fell naturally into an alliance with the Luxons. The European guild, East Indian Guild, has roots in PvE and is moving into PvP. Their story can be found in this week's GotW.
