Candidate statement[edit]

From the nomination section:

I'll accept this. Statement: I think I have been around long enough by now that people have a general feel for me. In the interest of disclosure I am going to refer people to here and mention that I have almost no interest in janitorial tasks such as deletions. If I become a sysop I would use my tools almost purely for dealing with disruption and trolling. My hand is probably somewhat heavier than a lot of the current sysops and I am a firm believer in the application of discretion, but I do think I am reasonable. I am an experienced sysop from PvXwiki and I understand the differences between this wiki and PvX. I will be away from about the period this RfA is supposed to finish (from the 24th until the 3rd) and have planned to be less active for a period once I return, depending partially on the outcome of the current bureaucratic election and this RfA. Regardless of the outcome of either I intend to step back from editing the main space for a while. I try to separate the roles of an admin and a bureaucrat in my head and have kept away from any roles I consider administrative while a bureaucrat, despite having the same user rights, as I never passed an RfA. If I retain my bureaucratic seat and pass this RfA I will be more willing to take on some of these tasks during so called "emergency situations". I'd like to request that anyone opposing be specific as to whether they are uncomfortable with me being a sysop or if they would rather I was present and active or not a bureaucrat before being made a sysop. I'm more than comfortable with failing this RfA and trying again when I am back and active again and waiting to see what the outcome of the current election is. Misery 15:04, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

  13. Support. Misery is an honest person and seems to "keep his cool" when needed. He can be fun at times but is serious when nature calls for it.   15. Even though Misery is from PvX (*cringe*) I fully trust him not to abuse the tools and to fairly and effectively deal with trolls etc in addition to run-of-the-mill vandals. Furthermore, since trolling is such an issue on GWW I feel that Misery would be a valuable addition to the sysop team. – Emmett 19:58, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
