Talk:A Time for Heroes
Blood[edit]
I came up with one that worked like a charm for my dervish. A variant of discord with:
- [D_any Grenth's Cold Fingers;OgCjkqqK7OB4ob5m+29Dvje4LA]
- [Bloodway 3 Hero 1 N_Rt;OAhjQwGYoSzMQVgNNiDTSTUbXMA]
- [Bloodway 3 Hero 2 N_Rt;OAhjQwGYoS+BDNcBNiDTSTjTXMA]
- [Bloodway 3 Hero 3 N_P;OAljUwGopSrBnOVVNi7Y+Y1Y4YA]
- Plus Eve, Lina, Mhenlo and Herta.
I'll explain the naming i use too: <Team build name> <party members used by the build> <Hero/Player> <position (just for odering)> <Professions>. Cheers. MithTalk 05:26, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks Mithran. I haven't done this mission in a while and didn't feel like spending ages coming up with/making a build. Changing my customary necros seemed like a great option. I also took a couple of eles with wards: one was an ether renewal protter too.. I was a Rit and took mainly healing skills, with Pain Inverter and BotGD. I brought Melonni along for a change and gave her pretty much the build you used. As I have no more necros, I took Eve for the Blood Ritual and general added 'necro-y-ness' heh.
- Once I stopped running back to the shore, which has never got me very far, and just charged in, it worked really well! Cool :)
- P.S. Yes I realise Mithran's comment was over 6 years ago! Still found it very handy though ;)
P.P.S. I didn't sign... Honnaja (talk) 16:54, 8 July 2017 (UTC)
Help[edit]
- I am in battledepths as i type this. atfh is in my quest log and is selected. in front of me is a locked door.
- Why am i prevented from continuing?
- How do i get around this problem?
- Why is there no mention of this on the article main page OR here on the discussion page, because, frankly, i do not believe that
- I am the only person that this has ever happened to, nor will you convince me that i am the 1st...

- Did you complete the Destruction's Depths primary quest chain? Do you have fast travel access to the Central Transfer Chamber?
- If you are referring to the CTC portal, It can only be opened from inside the mission outpost; not from battledepths dungeon-side.
- To get around this problem, you either need to get Jalis Ironhammer to start the Destruction's Depths mission, which will unlock the Central Transfer Chamber mission outpost upon completion. If -- for some bizarre reason -- you are still stuck, then a second player who already has access to that outpost can easily speed-clear you to it.
- There is no mention because A) No wiki contributor has never encountered a problem serious enough to warrant documentation, or B) No player (until now) has ever raised the issue!

- Sorry for the late reply. Anonimous, are you talking about the zaishen quest or about the mission quest ?
- You may have taken the zaishen quest by reading one of the signs in Embark Beach or Temple of Balthazar but the quest in itself doesn't grant you access to the mission nor will it change the way you'll do it. You'll still need to get to Central Transfer Chamber following the storyline of Eye of the North
- If you're new to the game, think of the Zaishen Quests as a bonus reward when you complete the associated mission/vanquish/combat/bounty : they do not alter the game like regular ones do.
- Now if you're sure that it's not the zquest, simply use your world map to fast travel to the outpost I just mentionned, then speak to High Priest Alkar to begin the mission. Perhaps it's not possible to access Ctc from Battledepths, though it sounds strange to me. --82.240.45.162 19:22, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
- The CTC portal is a "one-way hidden door" that can only be opened on the CTC-side. It mechanically identical to the Dasha Vestibule (outpost), in that its tricky to find and enter, if you DO NOT follow the primary quest chain (because technically, your character doesn't know the door exist). Once you enter Battledepths from the CTC-side, it remains open for the duration, as long you remain in Battledepths. --Falconeye (talk) 20:27, 25 July 2015 (UTC)

- Resolved
- Thank you for the quick and succinct reply. This is the 2nd time that this has happened to a char of mine. :) The 1st time was on my 1st char, 5 ACCOUNTS ago. The only problems that I experience in-game appear to be things which I already know the answer to, but somehow miss the mechanism.
- Sometimes, mechanism unknown, when logging out, then back in, a char does NOT appear at its last known outpost, but 1 or possibly 2 outposts previous. I believe in both cases after completeing DD i logged out before attempting to continue with ATFH. When logging back in, I appeared in EotN, and like a good little dren, followed the Compass Arrow. In frustration I abandoned ATFH and retook DD the 1st time, this time I simply mapped to the CTC. DUH. Yes that particular gate is both one way and conditional, as per many in Cantha or per Dasha Vestibule.

Am I missing something?[edit]
' Wait there until the Great Destroyer uses Lava Ground enough to dry the lava pool where the furthest Destroyer of Lives was ' - doesn't Lava Ground melt the earth rather than dry the lava? 86.1.209.169 21:49, 6 August 2019 (UTC)
Strat: Hammer Knockdowns (Solo + Heroes)[edit]
Setup: R/W 12 Hammer, 12+1+3 Expertise, rest+1 Wilderness Survival. Pyrebound (armor vs fire), Deldrimor Title set Skills: Brawling Headbutt (Deldrimor), Devastating Hammer (Hammer), Club of a Thousand Bears (Norn), "You Move Like a Dwarf!" (Norn), Troll Unguent (Wilderness Survival. The 3 remaining either helps with survivalibility, attack speed, or more knockdowns.
1) Get all the monks drain (-1 energy regen) enchanements on you that benefit you. Make sure the party has a Derv or a Warrior to protect the party. The heroes will be at the sideline from shore to watch you fight everything. 2) Set them close to shore (dunno the range of enchantments). However, it does draw enemies to them, thus the bodyguard heroes. 3) Kill the 4 fire elementalists closest to the shore, even better that you kill the 2 melee destroyers close to boss while killing the elementalist. Interrupt the hex spells and the coal spell as those deal the most damage. 4) Go ham on the boss, if your armor is at max (70 armor if Ranger), then interrupting wouldn't be a big deal since the retaliation attack the boss does upon getting out of knocked down state is literally 30 damage. The boss would most likely be either in knocked out state or in weakness state. Either way the boss fight is free when clearing out the existing enemies except the 2 furthest elementalist destroyers.
Have yet to do hard mode, but will reply to this post if I manage to succeed hard mode with this build. BB19 (talk) 03:50, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
