Smiter's Boon'd. 72.148.167.222 23:26, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Laughing My Ass Off!!--ShadowFog 23:28, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Not really. It's more like an inferior anti-spike skill now. I can see a whole team of Randomway smiters run this and chain it on any pressured team members 72.222.217.198 23:31, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

With an of ench mod its 4 seconds? And let's say you get lucky and HSR procs too, so thats 4 s SF every 15 seconds? I mean not a bad effect sure, but still it's pretty much smiter boon'd. 83.131.51.113 00:15, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
don't forget blessed aura can push a 6 sec (due to a bug with math of very short monk enchants, ext patent and aura of faith)96.13.38.147 08:40, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

What about FA? On Gunther, he's going to be invincible. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 173.48.213.177 (talk) at 02:44, 15 May 2009 (UTC).
The place already discourages melee, just look at the ranger's and necromancer skills used there. I bet the team just want a faster GvG, that's all.--ShadowFog 02:59, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
This new Aegis really helps prot flag runners in GVG. add Aura of Stability...and all that's left to slow them down is Ward Agaist Foes? Loves to Sync 03:27, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Aegis + Glyph of Renewal = New FA meta? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.131.70.195 (talk) at 10:50, 15 May 2009 (UTC).
Use with Glyph of Swiftness. If you want to waste an elite on spell immunity, use Spellbreaker with 20% ench, Blessed Aura, Glyph of Swiftness and 20/20 hsr for near-constant spell immunity with just DF. (Though lacking in target changing abilities, works just fine for Gunther) <>Sparky, the Tainted 02:09, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

works wonders for the Ghostly Hero[edit]

perfect skill to stop interrupts on the Ghostly Hero; no more need for Song of Concentration Loves to Sync 00:18, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

prevents siege turtle attacks (FA) on target?[edit]

y/n? --Gah User Gah My Name Cant Fi Echomending.jpg Eat my uber regen. 13:30, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Its a 30 second recharge... unless they have 8 monks that can sequentially put this enchant on, I dont think anything serious about it... or if they start to echo it.--ShadowFog 13:31, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
siege turtle attack is listed as a monster skill so I don't think aegis would prevent it. Loves to Sync 13:32, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Prot spirit says spells and attacks too. --Gah User Gah My Name Cant Fi Echomending.jpg Eat my uber regen. 16:28, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Depends if turtle siege is a spell like wurm siege tbh. 128.255.216.144 20:29, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Turtle siege is a skill. — Jon User Jon Lupen Sig Image.png Lupen 20:31, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, but my point is Protective Spirit reduces damage from the turtle attack (which is a skill), while it states that it only reduces damage from spells and attacks. I wondered if Aegis functioned in the same manner, though I imagine not. --Gah User Gah My Name Cant Fi Echomending.jpg Eat my uber regen. 23:34, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Well who cares, the turtle still removes enchantments on attack. -- Halogod35 User Halogod35 Sig.jpg 17:00, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Anybody here who knows how Shadowform works also knows that delicious "chirp! chirp!" sound it makes when casters effortlessly fail their enchantment removal. The turtle still removes enchantments on attack may be correct, but if the attack never hits, the enchantment will never be removed. "Fail" doesn't mean "Takes no damage", it means "Can't be targeted". Chirp! Paddymew 18:33, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Turtles hit through this, I seen it happen though I don't have a screenie or video. but if you think about it it makes sense anyways. Roflmaomgz 01:45, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

tank[edit]

20% enchantment mod + Blessed Aura + Glyph of Renewal -> Aegis (PvP) on ally with Extend Enchantments? --Cursed Angel Q.Q 13:42, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Pretty sure Shadow Form or Obby beats it. Losing all enchants every 24 seconds is kind of ass. Misery 13:44, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Tanking in my PvP? D: This has some pretty sweet uses on the Ghostly Hero though, could possibly stop anything from interrupting a capture. SniperFoxUser SniperFox IconSmall.gif 13:46, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
I totally wasn't paying attention. Misery 13:47, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
got 11 sec aegis duration, just in time for renewal to add 11 sec again. but aftercast and bad timing of extend kills a 100% invulnerability. :/ --Cursed Angel Q.Q 13:52, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
It's funny how we're already finding ways to abuse a skill Anet nerfed. --Gah User Gah My Name Cant Fi Echomending.jpg Eat my uber regen. 16:06, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
It's not a nerf, it's a functionality change. Misery 16:07, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
It's nice. Too bad this is PvP only. 129.65.202.232 18:01, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
DON'T SAY THAT! The PvE version is great for PvE, where there are more enemies than allies. Besides, the enemy AI doesn't coordinate spikes or use Ventrilo... As far as we know, at least... Paddymew 18:35, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

what are you using arcane mimicry to take glyph of renewal? thats three classes there... Materia user 16:58, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Extend Enchantments is on someone else. Which should've been obvious.
Also, Arcane Mimicry would still make a total of 3 professions, given your misunderstanding. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 18:45, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Recharge?[edit]

Do skills that fail due to Aegis go into recharge (as per Spell Breaker) or not (as per Shame)? User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 17:18, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

No recharge, same functionality as Shame. Misery 17:46, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Laaaaame. --Gah User Gah My Name Cant Fi Echomending.jpg Eat my uber regen. 21:42, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Uh, spell breaker doesn't cause recharge, it causes energy use and immediate "CHIRP CHIRP" spell cancel just like vow of silence and obsidian flesh and everything else that says it causes spells to fail. --Star Weaver 21:46, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) Delays spikes by two seconds. Epic fail, especially when you could

10 Energy0.25¼ Activation time5 Recharge time Spirit Bond (PvP) Spirit Bond (PvP) and actually, y'know, stop the spike. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 21:50, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Maybe energy to 5 and increase duration to 5 and it'll see some use. (only in OP gimmicks though)--Gah User Gah My Name Cant Fi Echomending.jpg Eat my uber regen. 21:56, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
no, id keep it at the current cost and duration/recharge, i wouldnt really wanna buff this as it can be really strong at some points InfestedHydralisk 12:15, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
Shadow Form or anything like it is a broken game mechanic and should never be used anywhere since it always causes severe balance problems. REVERT, REVERT, REVERT. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.43.62.68 (talk) at 03:08, 7 June 2009 (UTC).

Makes shovespike uncounterable[edit]

Cast this on the shove war right before he teles and it is impossible to stop the spike making good players unbeatable with the exception of rtl spikers. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.159.244.248 (talk) at 06:01, 8 July 2009 (UTC).

How does that make good players unbeatable? You mean it makes good players unable to win, right? ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 05:14, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
You can always pull a "Can't Touch This!" and negate the shoves... Paddymew 08:59, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
"Can't Touch This!" are you serious? Forget blocking stances, self-heals, energy management, damage infliction abilities which you could have in the place of that skill. You bring "Can't Touch This!" to counter a shovespike team. *laff* --80.16.169.162 09:12, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
One word, Mr. IP: Metagame. Paddymew 14:26, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Well, what I meant was that if the shove spike has people competent enough to spike together, than they are impossible to beat unless they run into rtl spikers. You are correct that the truly skilled players (who run balanced)are the ones that aren't going to be able to win anymore when facing shoves spike due to the change to aegis.(Timcago 04:09, 9 July 2009 (UTC)).
Aegis gave a block chance before, and makes attacks and spells fail. It says nothing about touch skills, and has no impact on how much damage those do. Paddymew 08:25, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

If you have good field awareness you can prevent Shovespike with CTT without much trouble. Though, it would still be extremely difficult to kill them coz they would just start running all around the place. :p --Super Igor User Super Igor siggy.jpg flame my shove sin bar! 23:25, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
