The Facets[edit]

They are stated as Forgotten. Why? —ZerphatalkThe Improver 17:13, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

they left the world of men there fore they are known as the forgotten, not because ther numbers are few but becasue no one has seen them

The Forgottens Original Purpose[edit]

It states "They were placed on the continent of Tyria to help serve the dragon oracle, Glint", but from my understanding they were originally placed on tyria to watch over the developing lands and races. no mention of glint in anything i have read before this.. Can anyone explain where this comes from? Thanks, 58.168.44.216 06:27, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

well, you are right, if you go the main paige and then to lore it says that they were put here to wacht over. my question is : if they were placed, and picked from another place, were the .... is that place?82.136.203.25 15:34, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

They fight the players in all three Ascension missions[edit]

Huh? Ascension in Tyria is fighting the dopelganger, in Cantha it involves tengu and celestials and in Elona it is insects. In none of the ascension missions was I fought by the forgotten! Bonsai nine 07:49, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

The three missions generally referred to as Ascension missions are: Thirsty River, Elona Reach and Dunes of Despair.--Inspired 14:03, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
But the article states that players fight them in all three ascension missions, not all three ascension missions of NF. If that's what the article is suppost to state, it should be edited and rephrased as such. 96.253.36.19 22:10, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
Umm what do you even mean by "three ascension missions of NF"? There is only a quest, Hunted!... Paddymew 14:31, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
No, it states what it is supposed to. In Factions, it is not called Ascension but "Weh No Su." The only Ascension is completing Augury Rock, and to go to Augury Rock you must complete three missions. Forgotten are located in those missions. "Tyria" here is being used as the continent of Prophecies, although it is the name for both that and the world collectively. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:96.230.125.253 (talk).
The article there is slightly off, it should say "three of the four Ascension missions" - I'll edit it now. -- Azazel The Assassin\talk 22:11, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

Keeper?[edit]

The Keepers of NF are Forgotten as well, they're even in the same category. I'd think they should be mentioned somehow. Perhaps a link to them? Or even include them in the table?--User Cyberman Mastermind Sig.gif Cyberman 07:28, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

I firmly agree, but have no clue how it should be added. --76.166.187.131 09:04, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
They are mentioned: "In 0 BE, the Forgotten aided the Five Gods in their war against Abaddon and acted as wardens of the defeated god and his army within the Realm of Torment - where they continued this duty until Nightfall occurred in 1075 AE." Even before my rework they were included: "Others act as the wardens of souls trapped in the Realm of Torment and give you quests. The Forgotten in Elona have been all but driven to extinction by the forces of Abaddon." The comment by Cyberman was made over a year ago - his complaint has been fulfilled since then (heck, they were mentioned even when Cyberman made the post - "Others guard the Realm of Torment and give you quests." Wording[edit]

"... and began to become the superior race" sounds creepy. Can we change it to, I don't know, "dominant" or something? I don't want to change it because it's not a grammatical issue or anything, but... --76.166.187.131 11:04, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

How does it sound creepy? They were a superior race. They were not dominant - as that implies subduing other races or ruling them, which they did not do. The forgotten guided other races, not ruled them. -- Konig/talk 19:53, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
You seem to have misunderstood. In the first line of the second paragraph, the statement "When humans appeared in Tyria and began to become the superior race, the Forgotten retreated to the Crystal Desert." refers to the period of time in which humans began to dominate Tyria, and has nothing to do with the superiority of the Forgotten. Humans, did dominate the areas which they occupied, and so I believe that the sentence should be reworded. I think that, "When humans arrived in Tyria and quickly began to dominate the continent, the Forgotten secluded themselves in the Crystal Desert" would be a good alternative. Aside from that, I disagree with 76.166.187.131 in that I don't particularly think that it is all that creepy to call a species superior, at least in terms of adaptation to an environment, and that this particular edit should be because "superior" does not describe the founding of the human empire as accurately as "dominant" does. Additionally, I believe that "secluded" more accurately describes the action of the Forgotten than "retreated", as no actual aggression took place between humans and Forgotten at that time. ~ Hrafn 22:21, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
