PvE slowdown?[edit]

I think this skill will lead to some kind of frustration. I personnaly would tend to use it everywhere, just to be sure I don't miss any of these "hidden objects". But if recharge time is too long or energy cost too high, this will just slow down PvE. On the other hand, if it's too cheap or if it recharges too fast, then it might become an overpowered damage skill. So I just suggest making this skill cheap and fast recharging and scaling down its damage, OR making its range really big (for the detection part). Wow, I just realized I'm speculating on a skill's effect although its data still haven't been released... --Funky Jah (talk) User Funky Jah icon.jpg 10:20, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

If range and damage scale up with higher tiers of title then you might only need to cast this once for every new radar or two and then recharge can be in 30s with no slowdown. Biz 15:26, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
It only takes 9-10 seconds to walk that far without stopping.

Destructive Research[edit]

How do you get this skill if you already completed Destructive Research during the preview? -- Gordon Ecker 08:52, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Currently you don't. --Tankity Tank 07:33, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Four dwarven skills, this Snow Storm, Great Dwarf Armor, and Great Dwarf Weapon suffer this problem. The devs have been notified here, so hopefully there will be an update to correct this problem soon. --Thervold 17:21, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

this problem was addressed with a patch, so it's all good now

Progression[edit]

Found Objects[edit]

I found a Dwarven Ghost (level 24 Warrior) right next to the Beacon of Droknar in the Heart of the Shiverpeaks while I was on the quest Heart of the Shiverpeaks. Yukiko 09:01, 5 September 2007 (UTC) Update: Also discovered 2 Hidden Treasures on Catherdral of Flames:Level 3. One chest never appeared though. The other had a Deldrimor Steel Ingot. :/ Yukiko 10:32, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

There are also at least three Dwarven Ghosts (also W24) in Rragar's Menagerie level 1, and a hidden switch that opens a secret passage which leads to one of those ghosts. - Tanetris 19:17, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Today I found a hidden chest containing a Ruby on level 4 of Frostmaw's Burrows. My wife opened the same chest to find 109 gold. --User mrsmiles tinysmile.png MrSmiles 06:08, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Secret passage on the first floor of Arachni's dungeon. In the dining hall, on the left side of the fireplace near the pillar. The secret passage way is in the middle of the room, leading out into an area that is not on the map.
  • In the first room of this secret area there is a dwarven ghost
  • Secret passage on the 2nd level of Arachni's dungeon. The first intersection contains the switch, the door that is opened is next to the area map which is to the left. (this might only spawn after you get the map, I thought i used this skill at the spot the first time, but I did not see it. I might have missed it... ) 68.104.205.160 11:34, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Secret passage on the 5th floor of Frostmaw's Burrows, opened with a hidden switch near the entrance. I couldn't find the actual passage, though, only the switch that opened it. --User mrsmiles tinysmile.png MrSmiles 14:00, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Without this skill, the passage running Northeast from the ressurection shrine (Level 5 Burrows) does not open...so I assume that this must be the "hidden passage". On level 3 of Raven's Point, there is a dwarven ghost that is in the middle of the main group of dwarves. Usually I am getting 120 to 180 coins per hidden treasure. On rare occasions I will get some of the better rare crafting materials (monsterous claws, diamond or ruby) Generally I bring this as a weak PBAoE as it seems to have no delay after casting, and gives me an alternative damage type for when I get swarmed. Gwynna Vive 11:13, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
I used it several times but only got around 120 gold. That was when i decided that it is neither worth the skill slot nor the time invested hunting for those chests. But if they drop rare crafting materials too i might have to reconsider that decision. 134.130.183.235 15:57, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Static Locations?[edit]

I've done the Cathedral of Flames 3 times packing this skill and I have noticed that there was always a hidden object in the same locations and they were always the same (chest or ally). Has anyone else noticed this? Also, has anyone found anything using this skill outside of dungeons? I've taken it with me in explorable areas and found nothing. Perpetual Salvation 19:42, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

I haven't used it outside of dungeons. And until there's more information to base it on, I am guessing that the skill's finding part is purely in dungeons- the "Dwarven Lands" of EoTN. Yukiko 23:25, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

I have only just started using this skill. I've only tried Oola's Lab with it so far, but what I did find was that the locations marked on the maps for Oola's are one of the following: partially wrong, may vary between HM and NM, may not be completely static. Level 3 - At the TPS Golem, I found nothing hidden on the platform; in the secret area by the Area Map, I found more than was labeled. Other places throughout, there was nothing where it was marked, or less than was marked. I know this seems like a comment better posted on Oola's, but I figured it might be better addressed for all dungeons. Adeira Tasharo 06:27, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Light of Deldrimor Clarification[edit]

moved from User talk:Gaile Gray

I'm not sure if this should go here or on izzy's page but i would like to know what this actually does. the description doesn't tell you much and i want to know what this does to know if it is worth bringing. if you could ask the team or if you know i would like a response. Thank you.

It gives you points in the dwarf title track. At least when you click it :P DBZVelena | (Talk page) User DBZVelena sig.jpg 10:45, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
The players have been finding hidden objects revealed by this skill - see the Light of Deldrimor page and its talk page for more about that. I just used it to find and open a Hidden Treasure and...Ta-da, 129 gold to me : D (that in Raven's Point). Erasculio 20:38, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Offensive Use[edit]

My character is an offensive warrior, and I actually use this skill a lot against heavily armored foes. The damage seems to be armor-ignoring, and at rank 5, 59 armor-ignoring damage to everything in the area for 5 energy is a pretty damn good deal. Also, a fun use is to have everyone bring this to Shards of Orr, it can make for some amusing mass-spikage. KrelusDerian 19:07, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Yep, holy damage from spells is armor-ignoring. It's also great against Margonites and Torment demons, because of the bonus from Lightbringer rank. -- Hong 02:51, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Team[edit]

Could just one player on a team bring this and everyone could use the chest or does every player need it to use treasure? 96.231.67.127 01:13, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Once the hidden treasure is revealed by one player, the entire party can get gold or an item from it. No need for every player to bring the skill. - Tanetris 00:53, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

thankyou very much saved me doing norn territory and having to buy destroyer cores. Gonna try out dual temple --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:96.231.67.127 (talk).

Shouldn't this be stated in the article? It's a very important information IMHO. 79.27.71.91 15:10, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

I've mentioned it in the Hidden Chest article's opening paragraph. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 22:15, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

Expiration[edit]

Does glowing lights revealed by the LoD disappear after a while if you don't use it again to reveal whatever it was? I was in a dungeon and sometimes a hidden object will appear on map after using LoD but I take my time to get there and it's not there anymore even after using LoD again. Barinthus 14:35, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Skill bugged[edit]

Been going through the dungeons doing my Guide and have been experiencing what I think is a bug. Was just in Vloxen Excavations and used LoD, 3 pings appeared in my general area, all in easy line of sight of me. By the time LoD recharged one had already faded and two still remained. I used LoD again on the one close to me, and an ally appeared. Then, using the skill again on the remaining one it has said I have revealed a hidden treasure as normal but no chest spawned. This has occured for me in every dungeon that I have run through. Messages pop up but nothing shows, generally seems to be only with hidden chests. Has anyone else having this issue? 118.92.35.136 13:07, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

I've been experiencing this as well. After going through the majority of the dungeons on ten characters over the last few months, I've noticed the following pattern:
When you enter a new floor (second or beyond) of a dungeon, your first LoD is usually bugged. If you use it while not right next to a treasure, the blue orb will appear but will usually be gone by the time LoD recharges, and recasting will not make it reappear. If you use it while standing right on top of it, you get the "found treasure" message, but no hidden treasure will appear. Good dungeons to observe this bug in are- Sepulchre F2, Bogroot F2, Vloxen F2 and F3, CoF F3. Dungeons that seem to escape this bug most of the time include: CoF F2, Oola's F3, Bloodstone F2.
Gonna put up a bug message for this page. It should also be noted that in all cases I was the only human player, and for the most part I did not experience the bug in circumstances other than the above stated. I'm not sure if it's using LoD too soon after entering the floor that causes it, or just the first LoD regardless of how soon it's used. Scutilla 20:30, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

Eternal Aura[edit]

Is not at all related. Just because it deals holy damage to surrounding foes does not mean they're similar. There are dozens of skills that do that. I'm removing it. Kirenne Starfire [Kw] 06:12, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Agreed. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 06:32, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Armor ignoring?[edit]

Is the holy damage inflicted by this skill Armor-ignoring? If not, a note should be added to the page. I ask this because I thought it wasn't armor-ignoring. --Combatter 14:43, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

It is, easy test on isle of the nameless. 78.105.242.214 22:38, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
