If you need to move this then go ahead. I got a Magmus Shield from a Risen Ashen Hulk, but there's no page for a magmus shield and it looks cool. Anyone know about it? -- UglyLooking 21:25, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Oy vey! I misspelled it all along. :P -- UglyLooking 22:19, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Awkward name[edit]

The quote we use refers to the Ring of Fire, not to any chain ...so why do we use the longer (and more awkward, repetitive, and redundant) name? Ember Light Camp is located on Perdition Rock, which is a member of a chain or a member of a ring of islands, which could more easily be called:

  • The Ring of Fire or
  • The Perdition Rock Chain (a synonym) or
  • The Islands in the Ring of Fire or
  • The Ring of Fire Islands

I prefer Ring of Fire Islands. Kaisha User Kaisha Sig.png 17:51, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
Ring of Fire Islands work, as its currently a redirect and requires less link changing. Ring of Fire (region) works too, but is equally awkward. "The" should not be used, imo. However, is a move truly needed? Konig/talk 19:46, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
I like The Ring of Fire Islands as well, adding chain on there has always been kind of weird. Maybe we could ask Stephane or someone if there is an "official" name? ~FarloUser Farlo Triad.pngTalk 19:49, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
Erm, there are two official names: the table of contents for The Guild Wars Manuscripts uses The Ring of Fire Island Chain. But the text (quoted in the article) uses the shorter, Ring of Fire (or, more properly, The Ring of Fire).
I think we should retitle the article and relegate the longer formulation as an also-ran. (Alternatively, we can rephrase the first line to, "The Ring of Fire Island Chain, which everyone in their right mind calls The Ring of Fire...") — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:04, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
There are more official names - Fire Islands, used in the Movement, and Ring of Fire Islands is used as well. The current name was used cuz its the second most common name, the first one being 'Ring of Fire.' Konig/talk 20:12, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
Can't use Ring of Fire, because that is used for the mission. Ring of Fire Islands without the in it and adding in that longer wording as a note or something, might be suitable. Kaisha User Kaisha Sig.png 20:54, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
I think we should keep Islands on there, it'll help prevent confusion with the mission. I know that's gotten me a few times before. ~FarloUser Farlo Triad.pngTalk 21:53, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

How do you get there?[edit]

Abaddon's Mouth - Possessed[edit]

per this edit, I looked up the full text in the Art of Guild wars book: "RING OF FIRE Concept art of the volcanic region known as the Ring of Fire island chain. At the center of the chain is Abaddon's Mouth. Not an ordinary volcano, this one is possessed by evil, supernatural forces, which have caused the lava to harden into strange formations resembling monstrous faces."
