A Title skill is a term that refers to skills linked to a title (that gains power with the value of rank from the title) instead of being derived from a proper attribute. Examples of these are Sunspear Rebirth Signet or Pain Inverter. However, these skills cannot be used in PvP due to the variations in strength.

Acquisition[edit]

Title skills can be acquired within Factions, Nightfall, and Eye of the North. Within Factions, title skills can be acquired from a Kurzick Bureaucrat or Luxon Scavenger for 3000 Faction after reaching the Kurzick/Luxon Supporter title in an allegiance rank. The title skills in Nightfall can be acquired both from obtaining a certain rank in the Lightbringer Title, or from various sunspear skill trainers scattered across the campaign. Title skills in Eye of the North can be obtained from completing various quests.

Most title skills use the standard progression, with green numbers interpolated or extrapolated based on the rank 0 and rank 15 values, however title rank does not translate to effective attribute rank on a 1:1 basis. Instead the effective title rank for Asura, Deldrimor, Norn and Sunspear skills is equal to title rank * 1.5, rounded down, and the effective title rank for Kurzick and Luxon skills is equal to title rank * 1.25, rounded down.

Notes[edit]

  • Lightbringer effects scale or increment linearly with rank, with one exception (the Adrenaline gain from Lightbringer Signet).
  • The power of Sunspear Rebirth Signet also scales linearly with rank.
  • Skills that apply an artificial attribute rank to other skills can increase the effective rank of title skills higher than the maximum rank achievable in-game. For example, Signet of Illusions invoked with an Illusion rank of 16 will cause Pain Inverter to be cast with an effective rank of 11, even though characters cannot reach an Asuran rank of more than 10.
