Ranger-tango-icon-20.png Elijahn Varithus:

Elijahn is a very ethical and moral person. He's rather calm but can become overly competitive during battle. Even with his sometimes aggressive behaviour while in combat, he still firmly believes in leaving no man behind and would sacrifice his own life to save another. Elijahn was born into an average Canthan family, they were not poverty-stricken nor were they exceedingly wealthy. Both his parents were competant traders, his mother dealing in dyes, and his father buying and selling various materials. Elijahn trained under some of the finest Rangers in Cantha, such as Sujun, Headmaster Greico, and even the legendary Zho who lost her eye to the Black Moa in a fierce battle. Between training in archery, surviving the wilderness, and honing his dexterity, he had always taken an interest in taming wild beasts. He often tried and failed to tame various beasts, from cranes to bulls, and even tigers. However, even with all that his teachers had taught him, he continued to fail miserably at taming the wild animals, collecting a multitude of wounds and bruisings.

One fateful day, when Master Togo was summoned to Minister Cho's Estate, he discovered that the entire estate had been poisoned by an unknown plague. He called upon many of the students and teachers of the Shing Jea Monastery to help put an end to this horrible disaster, and sent them in to investigate the events in the estate. Elijahn was one of the chosen students to tend to this plague, and he was rather grateful as he wished to save not only the people, but also the poor unwanted animals that Minister Cho had generously taken in and given a home.

Elijahn quickly jumped into action, and unfortunately was forced to put an end to many lives as they could not be saved from this horrible sickness. Upon exploring the estate with some other students, he came upon a tiger that was being attacked by an afflicted horror. Worried that this fiend may soon plague the defenseless tiger, Elijahn threw himself in front of the afflicted and began firing wildly at it with a barrage of arrows. The tiger then charged into battle as the afflicted being began to approach Elijahn, in hopes it would be able to defend him from the attacker. The tiger struck the afflicted with a powerful slash across its face, and the horror's very soul then seemed to cause an explosion from within it, as it shattered into many bulbous pieces of flesh. Elijahn, stunned by the tigers act to bravery, hurridly went to aid the tiger who seemed to be injured from the explosion. The tiger accepted this help and was incredibly tame, almost affectionate to Elijahn. He decided to name him Aiove, and from that moment on they became a rather formidable duo. He said goodbye to his parents, leaving them in the safety of the monastery, and vowed to find and destroy the source of the evil that had cost so many their lives and injured his companion. He also promised that he would destroy any other evils that may cross his path, in hopes it may stop another terrible massacre such as the one at the estate that day.
