  • This requires one team dedicated entirely to holding the two south equipment stations, regardless of the rest of the map.

The Reasons[edit]

This is done because

  • (1) it prevents the Kurzicks from taking the inner two shrines (Elite Warrior and Elite Ranger) from either of these points and
  • (2) it stems the flow of Kurzick reinforcements to the bridge while
  • (3) adding three points to the Luxon total with each Kurzick slain.

The Build[edit]

For a team intending to spawn camp, oppressive, decisive force and agile movement are key.

The Means[edit]

To accomplish this, one team should first capture the two south equipment stations.

After having done this, that team should stand and wait outside the base, in the center.

  • A safe spot is against the wall of the Luxon base
    • This keeps you out of range of any Kurzick casters who’d run onto the platform in front of the Kurzick spawn point and cast, say, an AoE snare like Deep Freeze on your party, which would prevent you from effectively doing your job.

Your first priority is to defend the shrines from Kurzick capture parties.

  • You’ll be able to see Luxon and Kurzick party members and NPCs at the shrines from that point with use of the Ctrl and Alt keys, respectively.

If the shrines are not under full-scale capture force, your second priority is to eliminate individual Kurzicks in order to prevent them from rejoining their parties.

  • You should be able to see the Kurzick base spawn point on your compass when standing at the center point, and see the movement of any Kurzicks in their base.
  • When a Kurzick spawns, wait until they leave the base, and kill them.
    • Usually, it will be no more than one or two at a time, so this shouldn’t prove difficult.

In performing these two tasks, one team can hold two shrines indefinitely and keep Kurzick parties away from the bridge with almost no effort.

The Counters[edit]

The biggest threat to a spawn camping party is, of course, a bigger group of Kurzicks.

  • When this occurs, the best method of dealing with them is generally to run into the base by means of the gate opposite of the Kurzick party, then to leave through the gate nearest the captured shrine after the Kurzick party moves on.
    • While inside the base, assist any Luxon parties dealing with Kurzick pressure from the North Equipment Station, but try to avoid fighting a losing battle. If you’re being outnumbered in the base, make use of one of the teleports.
  • The second thing that commonly reduces spawn campers’ effectiveness is moving away from the south two shrines.
  • If the Kurzick teams take the resurrect shrines, let the two other Luxon parties handle it. Remember, you’re not the only party on the map. And because of others’ natural urge to “cap cap cap!”, any shrine that goes blue will soon receive attention.

Expansion[edit]

While a spawn camping team alone can almost guarantee victory regardless of the action of the other teams, other teams working in sync with the spawn campers makes the battle that much more decided.

For the most part, the two other teams should focus on holding the bridge from the center.

  • Remember, even if the Kurzicks take both resurrect shrines, with you holding the two south shrines and your allies holding the center shrine, the Kurzicks cannot enter the base, and so you will have at worst a 5-2 lead.

In the event that the Luxons take all seven shrines, the one of the bridge teams should move down to cover one of the south Equipment Stations and you should move to cover the other, while the third team should stay on the bridge to clean up any leaks.
