Interview Excerpt from Our Guild Website[edit]

Q: How did you come the CULT guild?
A: Like many of you, I happened to run into our leader DK in Kamadan. He was recruiting people at random. At the time, I was the leader of my own guild, The Devil's Acolytes. While we were a fairly large guild with a full alliance roster, I was getting tired of the administrative tasks associated with being the leader. I wanted to devote more time to playing the game and less time to recruiting. DK seemed convincing enough, so I joined.
Q: How have your experiences been with the guild?
A: Very good. I've participated in many guild events and joined groups with many of our members for everything from AB to Farming to Title Grinding. Cult seems to have the perfect measure, People are helpful, but not demanding or needy like some other guilds. I can play casually alone, or party with several people at any time.
Q: What are you best known for in the guild?
A: Posting / maintaining this site (www.gwcult.com). It's still not where I want it to be just yet, but it seems to be evolving rapidly. It should be ready by the time GW2 comes out and doubles my work again. Of course, it's not just me here anymore. People are beginning to post useful content. Right now, those individuals have contributed a great deal to the site, and their feedback has proved very valuable. Even people who don't frequent the site have contributed ideas that have made it better. Builds posted by Lady Arainia, and the feedback from DK have been vital to keeping our members coming back.
Q: What question are you asked the most?
A: People always ask, "Are you a Guy or a Girl". Truth be told, I am a Guy (sorry to disappoint). It's been a point of confusion for people who have known me for a while. I was originally turned on to Guild Wars by the girl I was dating at the time. She created this character to play when she was over at my house. We broke up, I inherited her character. People she used to talk to are still in my friends list, and apparently asked her the same question back when she was playing, so there seems to be a discrepancy. I am a guy, I was never a girl. There was no operation or anything like that. Hope that clears it up.
Q: What is your favorite campaign? Why?
A: Factions. I know that's not a popular choice, but I loved the Luxons / Kurzicks battling for territory. A player there can actually have an impact on the world. It was the one game in the series that actually made you feel like you were a part of the greater game. Other campaigns focus on more egocentric tasks like gaining titles. While that's fun, no one actually ever looks at your title, and the majority of people who happen to see it in passing have seen the same thing on a hundred other players. When you help capture a town and you see the boundaries move, you can say "I did that", "I just had an impact on everyone else".
Q: What is your favorite game (Other than Guild Wars)?
A: Final Fantasy 8. I know I'm a blasphemer. All the FFVII fans are probably organizing a lynch mob as we speak. In spite of the terrible dialog, it had a complete storyline. The game mechanics were great. The soundtrack was phenomenal, and the opening cut scene was top notch given the time it was released.
