Location in the Hall of Monuments |
The Rainbow Phoenix is a charmable animal found in the Hall of Monuments. Although this pet starts with an average size, it grows to be the largest pet in the game.
Locations[edit]
- Core
- The Battle Isles
- Zaishen Menagerie Grounds (levels 5, 12, 15, and 20, depending on unlock progress)
- The Battle Isles
- Eye of the North
- Far Shiverpeaks
- Hall of Monuments (see notes)
- Far Shiverpeaks
Acquisition[edit]
- Hall of Monuments, if the character has met the following conditions:
- Enters the Hall alone (no heroes, henchmen, or other players).
- Has added four Monumental Tapestries.
- Has completed A Time for Heroes.
- Has maxed titles:
- Has earned "Kind of a Big Deal" (5 titles) and has also filled most of the five monuments. (exact requirement unknown - see the discussion page for details.)
- Has earned "People Know Me" (10 titles), without any additional prerequisites.
- Zaishen Menagerie, the Tyrian Prestige pet can be unlocked by:
- Having another character (on the same account) release the animal to Emryd the Tamer or
- Giving Helena (Zaishen Keeper):
- 15 plus 100 or
- 80,000 Balthazar Faction.
Notes[edit]
- Because it only appears when you are alone and when there are no resurrection shrines, even in the Zaishen Menagerie:
- This is the only pet that cannot be charmed by heroes.
- It is the only pet that cannot be death leveled easily (it takes well over four hours to spam over 500 uses of Eternal Aura, the only self-resurrection skill that prevents wipes).
- Hearty, Playful, Elder, and Aggressive Rainbow Phoenixes deal piercing damage, while Dire and Unevolved Rainbow Phoenixes deal slashing damage.
- The unlocking costs require obtaining 7,500 + 2 350 or the equivalent of earning 14 ranks total in the Gladiator, Hero, Champion, Codex, or Commander title tracks.
Anomaly. The Phoenix can appear in your Hall of Monuments under other conditions than listed above. However, no one has yet advanced a successful theory that explains the exceptions. Some players speculate that things have changed since the introduction of the account-wide view of the HoM. See the discussion page for details.
Trivia[edit]
- Before the existence of the Zaishen Menagerie, it was impossible to obtain this pet without meeting the Hall of Monument requirements.
- It was impossible to death level the Rainbow Phoenix prior to the February 17, 2011 update that turned Eternal Aura into the only resurrection skill that prevents a party wipe.
