House arrest[edit]
Far more interesting thaan football. Do tell us more.--TahiriVeila 05:30, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
- It was decreed that I would stay home and eat guacamole and ribs and watch football instead of going out with my friends as planned. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 05:31, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
- Oh. I was under the impression that you had been confined to your household by the local authorities following some act of malfeasance on your part. TReal story is much less interesting :( --TahiriVeila 05:33, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
- If it helps, I went out to see my ex for a couple hours halfway through the fourth quarter. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 05:35, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
- Was there an incident of domestic violence?--TahiriVeila 05:35, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, it wasn't a bad breakup. The worst that happened is the bits of spider on her landlord's welcome mat. Her new date, however, has decided to no longer be my friend and instead be a huge dick to me. It makes me feel special. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 05:37, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
- Too bad :( --TahiriVeila 05:39, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

I'm like not really a sysop any more[edit]
But pretty sure just saying "You are dumb" is a personal attack. Maybe you should avoid doing that. Misery 16:34, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
- By someone else's reasoning, it is not a personal attack if the other person is dumb (or gay, for that matter), right? :P Koda Kumi 22:30, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- Apart from that being gay is kinda true or not true, where as being dumb is somewhat subjective (as it's based on the individual considering themself to be cleverer than the other person) and thus is always a personal attack. -- Salome 01:37, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Salome. The entire rest of the wiki is that way -->. Please take your bad logic and grammar with you when you go. Thanks! -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 01:43, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- Wasn't really a response to you Armond, nor was it directly aimed at the event Mizzles was referencing, it was more just a friendly reply to Koda. However that being said, needless attack is needless. So how about you just tone down the random trolling mate? Cheers in advance. -- Salome 02:04, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- There's a whole rest of an internet out there. Do you mind keeping your bad logic off this one page, or at least away from ancient discussions that no one cares about anymore? There was absolutely no reason for you to reply here instead of on Koda's talk, and you know I'm not exactly fond of you. (Who's the troll again?) -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 02:40, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

Funny shit Auron doesn't want on his talk[edit]
That was odd...[edit]
I must have unknowingly clicked a rollback link or something without noticing, because I definitely didn't intend to modify anything on Auron's talkpage in the last 24 hours. o.0 (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 06:55, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

Uhm.....? --Master Briar 01:12, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- Already posted on the talk there. By the way, you saying something doesn't make it consensus, even if someone else has already linked a policy that's mostly useless in that context. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 01:13, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- Articles for build concepts should provide information at a general level, describing common archetypes or well known builds commonly used in the game.
- This implies that there is already a name or nickname associated with such a build concept. It is an automatic rejection if a certain build cannot be referred to by a name that is generally understood. For borderline cases, discussions should be carried out to garner a strong majority (preferably a consensus) to either retain a particular build concept, to merge it with another, or to remove it altogether.
- Yes, uhm? What does that have to do with the article needing to be as gigantic as it currently is? (Personally, I'm against the idea of build pages on this wiki anyway, since no one in their right mind will look here for information on perma SF/shock axe/BA ranger [vs magebane vs cripshot vs etc]/whatever as long as pvx exists.) If you'd rather rewrite the whole article to make it not ridiculously huge, that's fine.
- Nothing in that policy says that a page must exist for these commonly used builds. I don't see anything for Heroway, Paraway/Paraspike, Minion Factory (it redirects to the "general MM" page, which has nothing to do with the build), Legoway, Triple tree, etc.
- -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 01:20, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- While I see what your saying, Perma is not a team build. Its just a buid. A solo build. If we have minion master then why not perma? And Actually that rewrite is a project of mine right now. But that page doesn't need to be deleted. It was/still is a massive portion of the Era of GW. When people wiki MM they get MM. There should be a page for perma. Because its not going anywhere anytime soon and has been a gigantic part of GW history. MM has a Basis, Suggestions for side skills, and a general strategy about how to be an effective MM. The things that are currently on the perma page show how the build works, what it is meant to accomplish, and what it will take to accomplish a successful perma. --Master Briar 01:26, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Continue argument on page itself. my posting here was pointless. --Master Briar 01:28, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Random discussion vs Bullshit[edit]
A much more acceptable title. I'm sure you know what the difference is. Misery 22:06, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
- Uh, not really. One's a blatant truth and one's a somewhat more polite truth?
- If all you had a problem with was the title, why didn't you just change that? -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 21:41, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
- You mean like how you intelligently reverted in your most recent minor "edit war" (term used very loosely) with Briar instead of just reapplying the delete tag and moving all discussion to his talk page? Oh right, that is how people do things. I didn't feel a huge need for the separation, but I am comfortable with the new heading which does not classify everything below it as bullshit, a classification which did not exist at the time of posting. C++ hate[edit]
I can't remember where you said it but I think you said Ruby was a better programming language. Is it similar to perl? I'm thinking of learning that language. --Lania Elderfire 19:35, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- It is, in some ways. I'm at school, so I don't have my old textbook with me, which means I can't use its reasonably awesome description of Ruby in relation to other languages, but Ruby is basically a chopped-up version of a bunch of other languages with the best of them included. It's a very powerful and intuitive language. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 19:37, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, it's decided then, I'm learning it. It has a cute name, and it's a powerful language; win win --Lania Elderfire 19:48, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- It also doesn't use semicolons! The end of a statement marks the end of a statement. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 19:48, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- Also, like Perl, it's interpreted instead of compiled, which makes for easier testing. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 19:49, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Wat, ruby is just smalltalk with perl syntax spliced in, c++ is way more useful :< --TahiriVeila 19:53, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- No, C++ is much more commonly used. Big difference. I, personally, have little use for something that provides me with a gigantic headache. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 19:54, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- Why does C++ give you a headache? O.o it's a pretty simple/powerful and intuitive language.--TahiriVeila 19:56, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- I'm currently wrestling with segfaults that are appearing for no apparent reason. Also, there's a whole lot of bullshit syntax put in just because. Seriously, why are <iostream>, <cstdlib>, <new>, <string>, <cstddef>, etc, not all part of the kernel or something? It shouldn't take a dozen lines of code to print "hello, world" when other languages can do it with one. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 20:15, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

ListNode *cur = head; for (; ( (cur != NULL) && (cur->item < cur->next->item) ); cur = cur->next) { cout << "Inside for loop." << endl; if (cur->next->next != NULL) cur = cur->next; }
- Head is a pointer to the first ListNode. ListNode is an ADT comprised of a string named item and a pointer named next (so my list looks something like a pointer head pointing to list item 1, which has an item and a pointer to list item 2, which has an item and a pointer to list item 3, etc). Somehow, I get a segfault before getting inside the for loop. My list has one item at this time. AFK lunch. :/ -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 20:36, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- does cur->next exist? Since your list is only a single item, next shouldn't exist, so calling the item for it should cause a problem. --JonTheMon 20:45, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- And why are you running cur=cur->next both inside the loop and in the last parameter of the for loop? --JonTheMon 20:46, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- <edit conflict>May i suggest, whatever your problem is, and for the sake of the bikini babes, that you at least verify the validity of cur->next before accessing cur->next->item. Yseron - 86.209.192.217 20:48, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- Y'know, that was the first thing that came to mind when I got back. :/
- Even with only one node in the list, cur->next should be valid (it would return NULL). But, NULL->item doesn't work so well, methinks. Looks like I'll have to rewrite the entire for loop to do the check inside.
- I move along by twos because when I wrote that at whatever o'clock I for some reason thought checking by pairs would be cool.
- Thanks guys. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 20:56, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- If you allow me that last post, normaly, this should suffice, but i still have a hard time to figure where you want to go like this...

- Yseron - 86.209.192.217 21:13, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- I'm trying to see if the list is sorted. I modified it to this:
- Yseron - 86.209.192.217 21:13, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
ListNode *cur = head; for (; cur != NULL; cur = cur->next) { cout << "Inside for loop." << endl; if (cur->next != NULL) if (cur->item > cur->next->item) isSorted = false; }
- It's working fine now. The display was just for debugging. My new problem is my "reverse the list" member function ([2]) is removing everything from the list except the first item. Weeee. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 21:22, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- You are missing an early exit: a break should follow the isSorted assignation. By maintening a counter with each add/remove elt you can avoid hickups when in need to know how much elts you got, atomics are often preferable to long operations (if you got to lock your list during the operation, the other threads may suffer from this). If your list is double linked, you can also avoid having to reverse it by parsing it from end to head. If you are just in need of swaps you can keep the actual structure of your elts. Yseron - 86.209.192.217 21:33, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) You shouldn't need to do all that to reverse the list. try this:

ListNode *prev, *cur, *next; *cur = head; if (cur != NULL) { for (;cur->next != null; cur = next) { next = cur->next; cur->next = prev; prev = cur; } cur->next = prev; }
- I just kinda threw it together, but it should be sound.
- (edit) yeah, what he said about having separate pointers for both back and forwards. --JonTheMon 21:36, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- Carefull, from what i see, prev is non initialised when it is accessed for the first time. Yseron - 86.209.192.217 21:42, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- I would absolutely love to have a doubly-linked list, but that was banned. :< As was a counter for how many items the list currently contains. Again, thanks for the help
(though Jon, I think you mean cur = cur->next instead of cur = next). -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 21:40, 13 April 2010 (UTC)- It doesn't need to be initialized; the first previous is null. --JonTheMon 21:44, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- For it to be true, you would need to add ListNode *prev = NULL; in the declaration. Dont forget that with release builds, the memory and datas are no more initialised for you like in debug mode. Yseron - 86.209.192.217 21:50, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- Now getting a bus error. Progress!

- -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 21:47, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
(Reset indent) Couple thoughts: 1) You might need to initialize prev and next to NULL. 2)in the for loop, does null need to be NULL? (that ignores the possibility that my code is wrong :P) --JonTheMon 21:51, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, I had to change null to NULL before it would work, but that wasn't a biggie. I don't tihnk prev and next need to be set to null; rather, I think the problem is that the for loop itself doesn't modify the list properly. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 21:55, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- This is highly probable, because when swaping elts you have to update the links of more than just one lement. Beside the variables not being initialised (carefull, they dont like that in the industry), *cur = head; should be replaced with cur = head; since cur is not declared as ListNode **. Yseron - 86.209.192.217 22:02, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- I also changed cur->next = prev; to head = prev;, since at the end of the loop cur == NULL. It seems to be mostly working, but it's eliminating the last item from the list somehow. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 22:05, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

GW Research[edit]
Hello, Armond. I posted a topic on a thesis research venture within Guild Wars' high-PvPing guilds on Raine Valen's talk page, whereon you indicated an inclination to help, which I would be more than pleased to receive, if you'd still give it. I've hit something of a dead end in my search for a willing and fitting subject, the extent which I've posted under the original topic - though if you could refer a guild that may presently be of a mind to receive an unobtrusive observer in their roster, I'd be quite grateful. 141.165.170.90 04:30, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
