User talk:Burning Freebies/Archive/Archive 1
This is archive 1, the first 20 talk page comments i got. Thanks to the person who filled it, i lost connection for a while. Sorry.
And yes, I did start most of these arguments. Sorry to anyone effected in a bad way by said arguments below.
Guild Wars Wiki:Sign your comments
Please read over Guild Wars Wiki:Sign your comments. — ク Eloc 貢 21:55, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
Greetings. Please remember to place your user user-related content under the User namespace. In your case, it would be under User:Burning Freebies/pagename (ie. Prepare To Burn
for Prepare To Burn).--Fighterdoken 21:42, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Planning An Event
Hi there, something like that page isn't what the wiki is trying to record (and it does not contain advertisements either). Please see Guild Wars Wiki:Article retention for things the wiki needs. Sorry for any inconvenience. -- Brains12 • Talk • 17:56, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- I think what he refers to with "advertisement" is something like Festival Disco. — Galil 17:59, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah guys. Sorry if it looks like advertisement. It isnt meant to be. It may not seem like that. It is an information page for anyone who would like to knwo about the event I am hosting. I know we are not allowed to advertise on the wiki, but please can I keep the page? If not, can you please give me at least a weeks notice berfore deleting it. --Burning Freebies 11:27, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- Your page about Festival Disco is not a problem. I think it was the page Planning an event that Brains meant, it's simply not the kind of content we keep in the main namespace. You are of course free to keep it in your own user space! - anja 11:58, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah I guess you're right about the planning event stuff. If you want it deleted, just give me the word. Sorry that I didnt hear you properly. --Burning Freebies 15:30, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
WISH
Consider moving to your namespace, like User:Burning Freebies/WISH. That isn't really something that should be on the mainspace. Antiarchangel 23:09, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Helping Hand
Hi, this article really belongs in your userspace, I don't believe it should be in the main space. --Lemming 17:57, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Image Naming
The image you uploaded (Image:Gw138.jpg) does not meet the naming requirements as outlined here. -- Wynthyst 14:02, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
images on the wiki
Hey. Welcome to the wiki. If you want to use images, there's a couple things to keep in mind. First of all, we have very specific requirements for names for uploaded images that you'll need to conform to. If you're uploading images for mainspace articles - that is, things about the game proper - they just need a descriptive name. If you're uploading for personal use, the name should be User Burning Freebies <imagename>, and if you're using it for a guild page, it should be Guild <Guildname> <imagename>. So in my case, I'm Tharkun, so a personal image of a beach ball would be named User Tharkun beach ball.jpg and a shot of my guildhall would be Guild Gwonline Guild guildhall.jpg since I'm in Gwonline Guild.
Once you've got it uploaded properly, go to the page you want to insert the image into and start editing. Wherever you want to put the image, just add the code where you want it to be. So for my beach ball picture, I'd have where I want it. There's also the ability to thumbnail the picture, but I'll leave that out for now. If you want more help, you can reference Help:Editing, or GWW:IMAGE. Or just post on the help page, here, or my usertalk page, and someone will help some more. Hopefully that helps! — THARKUN 14:11, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
Mursaat Rally
Cut down on the hostility, please. Of course it's ok to dislike an event, but that doesn't give you the right to insult and attack those trying to help and respond to you. Constructive criticism is ok, bashing is not. - anja 18:34, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Content deleted
Hey matey,
I just had a wee look at the Cinco De Mayo Talk page history and saw that you have delted content twice form it. Just as a heads up, please don't delete things from talk pages. Even if it is your message that you are deleting. If you no longer agree with your message and wish it to be disregardede, then use the strike out command. However you should not be deleting content as it's against wiki policy and can warrant admin intervention. For future reference, even on your own talk page, you should only be archiving things instead of deleting them, unless they are a serious breach of NPA or things of that ilk. Hope this helps. -- Salome 19:29, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- You are right. I have deleted one of my comments, until I realised it was illegal. soz. --Burning Freebies 12:35, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Olympics
Hey, I sort of lost track of my marathon idea when only 1 person ever signed the interest list. If you want to use the idea/page and include it in your Olympics, that's okay with me. I'll help out if I can, just let me know what you want from me. -- Peej 23:08, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
Fixed Your Userboxes
I stumbled across your page and noticed that you asked for help straightening out your userboxes, so I did, hope you don't mind. Everytime you want to add a userbox from now on, just add a vertical bar ("|") in front of it. Where you want to skip to the next line, add a vertical bar followed by a hyphen ("|-"). Hope that helps. -- Dragonlord Tony 13:32, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Events
I'm sorry you are having difficulties with your events, but you need to refrain from NPA violations in posting negatives about other groups or people. If you wish the pages to be deleted, simply add reason tags. -- Wyn 14:05, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
- Burning Freebies, I would suggest you refrain from defaming others on your userpage as well as on my own talk page. Besides being an NPA violation, it is not polite. The statement you are currently making on your wiki page saying "... those freaks at KISS decided to remove me for apprently copying an event." is not correct and it is quite defamatory. As you know perfectly well, you were kicked from the [KISS] alliance for threatening an alliance manager, using the guild name inappropriately for your events, and lying about your age a total of 3 times. I have heard some whoppers in my time my dear but to say you are 20, 18, and 14 when you are actually 12 years old is simply outrageous. Please update your wiki page and stop this nonsense. --Bunny - Angel talk 22:15, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
NPA
I would like to ask you to please remove the defamatory comments regarding KISS and anyone else from your user page as per No personal attacks policy. Also please stop commenting on Angel's page. I understand you are frustrated, but this is not the place for it, nor the proper way to go about resolving differences. The rule is, if you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all. -- Wyn 18:38, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
- → moved from User talk:Wynthyst
- Fine ill remove the comments. And i should have told that to KISS. --Burning Freebies 18:39, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
- It's also proper wiki ettiquette to keep the discussion in one location, so your reply should have gone here, not on my page. -- Wyn 18:42, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, its just whenever i start a discussion on someone's page they always reply on mine. Im just used to it i guess. --Burning Freebies 19:05, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I've blocked you for a day because of this personal dispute between User:Angel and yourself. Personal attacks are being thrown about, and this sort of thing doesn't belong on the wiki. Take a day to calm yourselves down and sort this out. -- Brains12 \ talk 20:39, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
page design
heya! i read your note on lemming's talk page and thought i'd link you to a guide i wrote: User:Y0 ich halt/Guides/UPG. it's a guide about basic page design in wikis and i hope it'll help you. tell me if you find passages that are hard to understand or if you have suggestions for improvement in general :) - Y0_ich_halt 12:06, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, but there is nothing there. --Burning Freebies 13:05, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
- sorry xD was too lazy to preview. - Y0_ich_halt 14:20, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. Ive worked out how the design works but im sure it will be useful to me in the future, Thank you! --Burning Freebies 14:32, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Clarifcation.
Which two events have i aproved :S Frozenwind 13:24, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
- Um, it was Wolfie that approved them. --Burning Freebies 14:38, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
Then on your front page it should say wolfie instead of me shouldnt it? Frozenwind 19:39, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
I said Blade Radio, not you. --Burning Freebies 17:42, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
Events
Im really into Community events, and i have successfully planned 5, with 2 having been approved by Daniel Frozenwind and Blade Radio, who are amazing at events, so they know all about the buisness. So if anyone is running an event and needs help planning or help with almost anything else, please feel free to use my talk page to contact me.
That is on your main page. Frozenwind 22:59, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
- Ahh. Good point. Thanks. --Burning Freebies 07:35, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Projects
Rather than starting a bunch of personally motivated projects, that may or may not benefit this wiki, you should maybe pick one or two of the already approved and running projects that can be found here. Making some solid beneficial contributions in this way would help to establish you as a solid contributor to the community. -- Wyn 09:47, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Removing comments from talk pages
You can feel free to archive comments from your talk pages, but not remove them unless they are violations of GWW:NPA -- Wyn 09:54, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Well according to someone on my RFA the user can happily delete all his comments on his talk page without it being illegal. No i cant? Thats not exactly fair is it? PREJUDICE!!! --Burning Freebies 09:59, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- If you look at the link that Auron provided to you it is in regards to GWW:NPA and says that a user can remove comments that are in violation of that policy. If you read GWW:USER and specifically the talk page restriction section you will see that removing comments from the community in general is not allowed. -- Wyn 10:01, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- fine, ill stick with in this countries "guidelines" can cross everything non important out. Happy? --Burning Freebies 10:03, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- Actually no, you can archive whatever you wish, but striking through comments left by members of this community is a no go. The strikethrough is for them to use if they wish to retract something they have posted either in error, or because they have changed their mind. It's exactly this attitude that disproves your statements of having "Knowledge of the wiki" and being "Someone who has a calm head". -- Wyn 10:08, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- If you were me now, you would be annoyed at failing a motorcycle theory test. Thats what i have just done. And fine, ill "archive" them.--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Burning Freebies (talk).
- It's fine to be annoyed at failing your motorcycle test, but to bring that annoyance here, is inappropriate.-- Wyn 10:15, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
