I'm glad you added the salvagable=no integer, and also added it to Hourglass Staff. But don't you think it's easier to change it so that in case no information about the salvage is specified, those lines get simply left out by default, instead of the "Not specified" lines? —ZerphaThe Improver 13:56, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Could very well be. I didn't want to change any of the original functionality though, and since it was 1 am I didn't feel confident changing too much. :P Can do that in a while though. — Galil 14:11, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- There we go. — Galil 15:15, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Great :D now there's either the option that nothing is about salvaging (in case of lacking information), or one can add the integer to show it's not salvagable, or it can also only the common salvage be shown :) —ZerphaThe Improver 19:40, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Integer? :o If you set it to anything except "no" it will act as if they are salvageable. :P — Galil 19:43, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- hmm... what i was atually talking about all the time were parameters, not integers, sry. can't mind what these were...the word behind the parameter? (in this case the "no"?) :P —ZerphaThe Improver 19:47, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Texts are strings, numbers are integers. ;) — Galil 19:48, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- weird, what were parameters then?^^ what texts exactly are strings? i thought parameters would be the words that you can set with switch/if-then functions —ZerphaThe Improver 20:18, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Wikipedia explains those terms alot better than I could: parameter, string, integer. — Galil 20:30, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- ok. you're right, it's not your job to explain those things to me just because of me being too lazy to search this up in the wiki and studying them precise :P strings seems to be a word describing all sign-combinations that influences the programmed texts in some ways, integers seem to be what i thought parameters would be, yet those also seem to be what i imagined. Well but no need to explain more to me, thanks :) —ZerphaThe Improver 20:54, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

hmmm.... i need a helping hand.
Hey hey matey,
I hear that you like to help peeps on wiki coding and i need a hand. (I had such an urge to say Mudkips then) anyhoo im hvaing an issue with my user page. If you check it you will see that mu user page is basically a menu sat atop one big box. which is how i want it. I recently added another box entitled "A BIG THANKS TO THE HELPFUL PEEPS", which currently sits inside the main box of text with all my general info in it. However i dont want this box to sit inside the main general blurb box, i want it to be outside and below it in the same way that Lensor has hers, however ive been trying to work out how to do that for 2 weeks now and im compleatly stumped! any help would be appreciated! -- Salome 02:27, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- I fixed it for you. The problem was two tables you hadn't ended, that's why it ended up inside them. :) If you want to see the changes I made; http://wiki.guildwars.com/index.php?title=User:Salome&diff=716169 — Galil 02:31, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- ROFL you're a star, however you could have made it look slightly harder to fix. 2 weeks of trial and error fixed in seconds is kinda ego bashing LOL ;). all joking aside, You are an absolute star though for that! I'm still teaching myself wiki code and i have a huge project coming up on the wiki, (i'm gonna be making individual guild pages for all the guilds in LaZy, instead of just the chain of redirects which it currently has) so if i get stuck on the techincal side would it be okay for me to pester you for help in your spare time? Thanks again for the user page fix! -- Salome 02:35, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- It really helps when you have several years of background in XHTML/CSS. ;) Sure, pester me all you want if it's something I can help with. :P — Galil 02:38, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Image:User Shadowphoenix GWW Dirt logo.png
since you seemed to have gotten my recent other images lol (which btw I have no problem with :o) ) I was wondering if you can help me out with this one. I am working on a new project (yes another one lol) called GWW Dirt, and this is the logo for it, however I am afraid that it may be a copyvio. I used an image from a popular T.V. show where I am from as the background, but I put guild wars stuff on top of it. idk if it is a copyvio or not and if so I can upload a different version (I just like this one better). So can u help me out? Thanks --Shadowphoenix 00:52, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- I do actually believe that's a copyvio, but I'm not too comfortable talking about the US copyright laws (since the server is placed in the US) since I'm not from there. It's not so much the red background that's the copyvio though, but the "dirt" logo does fall under copyright laws. The GW-logo isn't a problem since this is the official GW-wiki and we have permission to use it though. — Galil 00:59, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- Ok thanks, I will upload the second version and U1 that image. --Shadowphoenix 01:02, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

- So far yes ;) But I thought you just started with those to continue with the other classes... SilentStorm 23:53, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
(reset indent)Well so infact you did it quite the same as I did. Windowed GW, Priest of Balthazar and Browser on second Screen. So you just type very fast :D (2 19" here - just to add to the Screen Comparisation Stuff :P) SilentStorm 01:14, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Deletion reasons (2)
I think I've broken something with them.. They turn up as a plain text list on the page (I thought it was supposed to be an expandable list?) and some links are weird. They are pointing somewhere and look like this: Guild image naming
. Not Guild image naming
:P - anja 11:14, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- Nope you didn't break anything. They're supposed to be plain text links and those links are supposed to look like that. I wanted the links to show what's actually inserted rather than hide the links, but I'm beginning to think I would rather have it hide where those links are pointing to as it's hard to find them in the list as it is now. — Galil 16:40, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

- It's not a template, but it's essentially the same thing - do you manually write it out every time? No, it's copy and pasted. Which is basically what a template does. And it's "arbitration" :P -- Brains12 \ Talk 18:43, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

I noticed you marked these for deletion and was just wondering, couldn't they be marked as speedy U2 since they are after all created by and possibly for an anonymous/IP user? --Kakarot 03:14, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- I guess they could, I always thought of U2 as a userpage with some random name though, not anon pages. — Galil 03:15, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- U2 is for users who don't exist. Those IPS do exist. Backsword 03:26, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- But are they registered user names? A user is a registered user name, not an IP, in my eyes. Although I don't see the need of a speedy either :) - anja 08:16, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

how do you get pics or icons or avatar next to your name before or after? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ridz16 (talk • contribs) 11:06, 19 March 2008 (UTC).
- Go to your preferences, check the box labeled "Raw signatures (without automatic link)" and input this in the nickname box:
Ridz16
, then just save your preferences. That's assuming the picture you want to have in your sig is uploaded as Image:User Ridz16 sig.png. — Galil 11:38, 19 March 2008 (UTC) - See also Help:Signatures and GWW:SIGN. -- ab.er.rant 16:10, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Generally Offensive
That part was in the old policy, not the new one. I suppose that is what you were refering to, I fixed a typo in it; I did not make that line. --Shadowphoenix 20:31, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- The point I was trying to make, but seemingly failed at making, was that your image could very well be disallowed for more than one reason with that policy. As it is now, it can only really be deleted for being "generally offensive", and it would require consensus on that cause one thing might not be offensive to everybody. With that policy though, it could (arguably) be considered both "sexually explicit" and "hateful". The image in question is a massive semantic problem as one thing doesn't mean the same thing in between two persons. — Galil 20:39, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, I see your point there. That image does not belong (even under the circumstances of the current policy). I am going to U1 it , but I am not ending my propsal. --Shadowphoenix 20:41, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- I don't see a problem with it personally, tbh. As I said, it's one massive semantic problem and as long as the "general opinion" is that it isn't offensive, it doesn't have to be deleted. So far it doesn't appear to be such. — Galil 20:43, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

- And we don't block on user requests. poke | talk 21:26, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- If you are too angry to respond without violating this policy, consider taking a short break from the wiki, or contact an admin. I am saving you the trouble of ahving to block me for a week because of NPA. --Shadowphoenix 21:30, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) Contacting an admin isn't so we can force you to take a break though. It's so we can try to work through whatever issue is there. I'm not very active atm since I'm playing the actual game so I wouldn't know what you're so worked up over. As poke said though, I won't block for user request either, but if you're so worked up on something taking a break sounds like a good idea indeed. — Galil 21:35, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Dye preview gallery and grey compenents.
Hello Galil, as you may or may not be aware, im currently in the process of making dye preview galleries for each of the armours in the game as can be seen here and here, not to mention the necro ones ive uploaded. However once added to a page it raises the question of what is the point of the grey component page anymore, as the grey components are displayed in with all the other colours on the dye galleries im making. It's not a major issue or anything, its just as can be seen in the male ranger obsidian gallery, the grey dye compenents are missing at the mo and with the dye gallery I added below, their addition is now somewhat pointless. So should I remove the grey component section or leave as is? -- Salome 18:14, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- That's probably better asked at Guild Wars Wiki:Formatting/Armor art galleries. -- Brains12 \ Talk 18:19, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks Brains. I'll repost it there. -- Salome 18:20, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
