NPC renders[edit]
nobody talked to you until now and it was already some months ago, but i wanted to thank you for your about three dozen nicely rendered henchman pictures. :P —ZerphaThe Improver 09:35, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
- Currently, your signature does not contain a link to your userpage ;) Ɲoɕʈɋɽɕɧ 16:51, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
Hi Pumpkin pie, could I request that you crop the images you upload and perhaps remove the grey background? Right now there's a lot of blank grey space. Thanks :) -- Brains12 \ talk 14:21, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
Your signature image[edit]
Hi Pumpkin pie, do you mind reuploading your signature image (File:Pie.jpg) as as our signature policy requires that images used for a signature image be named in the following format: User <username><image name>.<file extension>
. To make it easy I linked the image and provided a red link for easy uploading. --Kakarot 13:56, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Pumpkin pie! I reuploaded your signature image for proper naming. Your new signature code should be
[[User:Pumpkin pie|Pumpkin pie]] [[Image:User Pumpkin pie sig.jpg|19px]]
. Thanks! -- Wyn 16:26, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Special:Contributions[edit]
it means that "contributions" is a special page, as opposed to a normal page. Shock, for example, is a normal page. special pages are those pages that give information about special wiki stats, such as the most recent changes made on pages (Special:Recentchanges), or the contributions of a user (Special:Contributions). if you look at the navigation to your left, you will see the link "special pages" at the bottom of the "toolbox", which lists all special pages. - Y0_ich_halt 10:52, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
as for your signature, here are the mistakes:
- User:Pumpkin Pie doesn't exist. that's because the second p in your name isn't capital: User:Pumpkin pie works. therefore, if you want it to appear capital, you have to use
[[User:Pumpkin pie|Pumpkin Pie]]
(in a link, the stuff before the pipe | is, where it links, and the stuff behind the pipe is what is looks like). - if you upload an image for your own needs, you have to show that in its name. that's the rule as you can read it in GWW:IMAGE. the name has to be something like File:User Pumpkin pie (image name).jpg (replace "image name" of course).
- the image in a signature, however, may not be larger than 19x19 pixels (see GWW:SIGN), so you have to add that to your signature:
i just saw that wyn already uploaded your sig to Image:User Pumpkin pie sig.jpg, so all that's left to do is to change your signature in your preferences. here's how to:
- in the top right corner, click "my preferences"
- in the field "Signature", enter the code you want as your signature, so for example copy (ctrl+c) the code wynthyst gave you above, and paste (ctrl+v) it there.
- at the bottom, click "Save"
- now you can sign with four tildes: ~~~~
try and see what happens :D i hope that explained all problems you had. if there are more questions, feel free to ask. - Y0_ich_halt 11:10, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- Just copy paste the code that's in bold in the section above into your signature preferences. -- Wyn 14:34, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
Thank You[edit]
Unlike the above unproductive wiki lawyers more interested in playing police officer and chase away people who actually help the wiki rather than recognise someone who is of genuine great value to the wiki, I would like to thank you for your image renders. They are the most impressive renders I've seen second to the ones Emily does, but she works at ArenaNet. How do you get such high quality images? 58.106.44.4 03:58, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- remove the <code><nowiki> and </code><n/owiki> and it should work. - Y0_ich_halt 15:02, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Leeching images[edit]
Just to let you know for when you link them, the two images you uploaded "Image:Leeching1.jpg" and "Image:Leeching2.jpg" have been moved to Leeching1 and Leeching2 so it follows proper user image naming. --Kakarot 11:44, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Your signature[edit]
I'm sorry you are having such difficulties with your signature. You are almost there, you just need to check the box in your preferences that says "Raw signatures (without automatic link)" and it should be good to go. -- Wyn 18:49, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Guild Wars 2 Suggestions[edit]
Hey, I appreciate all the stuff that you have been doing for the suggestion pages, but could you please leave the "& n b s p ;" in? (Without the spaces of course) The pages are supposed to be formatted with those, but no one realizes that. See the preload pages, such as here to see what I mean. Thanks! Spawning System[edit]
Do you mind if I repost your idea for Spawning systems on guildwarsideas.com or would you rather do it yourself?--Shai Halud 21:12, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
Show Preview & Minor edit[edit]
Using the "Show Preview" button lets you see a page before it is saved. Using a "Minor Edit" check box helps keep Recent Changes clear of several edits. Please use them. --Antioch 05:47, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Guru Post[edit]
Hey Pumpkin, you have always been quite respectful to me on the wiki, so I have to believe that you were just in a bit of shock after reading that interview (I didn't even know Regina and Izzy were doing one). I just wanted to stop by to respond to you directly over your post on Guru since you seem pretty upset and I honestly think it's over a misunderstanding.
- "BTW to Linsey: I am not the one who started the sync topic on all 3 users talk page. Those were already there when I posted the question on your talk page, and I could not let false information be on all these talk pages." - from your guru post
If you indeed did not post on all three talk pages, I apologize for inferring that you had, but after Salome's post (copied below) fairly early in the discussion, you did not deny the claim, so I assumed it to be true. I wish you had clarified on my talk page at the time, but I want you to know that I wasn't mad or trying to come down on you. I just wanted people to know where the appropriate place is to post questions like that so "false" or outdated information would not be perpetuated. I get a lot of repeat questions and a lot cross-posted to those three talks, so I wanted to be clear that it's not necessary.
- "Just as a wee question but do you really think posting the same basic concern to 3 different anet employees in the hopes of getting different answers is the best way to go about things Pumpkin? As you have posts to Regina, Gaile and Lynsey all on this subject repeatedly and you have been told that it is not considered an exploit. -- Salome 05:08, 11 January 2009 (UTC)"
As far as the main issue you bring up goes, I don't think that our messaging on the subject is necessarily contradictory. While we don't classify it as an "exploit" since that's just how the system was designed for performance, I think we all agree that the concerns about it are valid in that it can create an environment in RA that isn't fun for anyone not syncing (as the arena was meant to be played). While we haven't planned on "fixing" it in the past for whatever reasons, that doesn't mean that we don't want it to be "fixed" and won't ever consider "fixing" it in the future should the resources become available (I put "fix" in quotes because it's not actually a bug and "fixing" it could mean redesigning/recoding the matchmaking system).
Situations change as time passes. The state of the Live Team has changed a lot since you last posted about this on my talk. So the current state of things is that we would like to do something about this, but right now the server team doesn't have time to investigate the feasibility of making adjustments because of their GW2 deadlines. Just because you saw in a (questionably translated) interview that "We know that some people are frustrated to see teams go into arena in sync but it does not violate the rules of the game, we observe the situation, but we do not currently intend to do whatever either" doesn't mean we no longer think there is a problem. It's just trying to say that we basically don't have changes on the schedule at this time. Which is true because the server team doesn't have time in their schedule for it right now but it doesn't mean that it isn't a problem or that you were lied to. I understand how you would be feeling pretty run around on the subject considering how much time you have invested into it and the messaging isn't always clearly consistent, but I don't believe you were straight up lied to. =/
I'm sorry you are so worked up about this. I wish you had posted on the subject for this currently on my talk page before ranting on the forums so that we could work out the misunderstanding before it got to that. I responded (before your post on Guru went up) to say that we are actively looking into ways of fixing the issue but I'm guessing you were too upset to check up on it yet again (and understandably so). I hope the fact that there has been a little more progress happening on this end gives you some measure of relief on the matter. I promise to keep pushing for resources to be put into the issue, if you can promise that when you are mad at me, you'll come to me first before ranting on the forums about a discussion we've had. I think I'm a reasonable person and I don't bite (most of the time ~_^). Deal? :D
If you have any questions or anything, I enabled email through the wiki so you can email me with it via my talk page. Hope we can work it out (assuming you survived this wall of text hitting you in the FACE). :) - Linsey talk 06:55, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Random Events[edit]
Quoting from the main page: "There has to have different one time only quests and missions, sprung up at different areas of the game world 365/24/7 at a random intervals. It will also allow for guildies/alliances to recruit players or a global announcement that xx area have xx incident, players will have to deploy themself to those location for the experience and special rewards, If players are absent during that time they don't get those experience and rewards. Therefore players have got to be in the game forever! Experience points will be added, and special rewards place in players inventory for to use later, in exchange of elite skills, weapons, armors and what nots for their characters. the rewards items are customized and non-transferables."
I'm VERY leery about this suggestion as presented. My initial response is timezone-based - being in Australia, my peak times are very different to the majority of players, so if the frequency of random events is weighted I could expect to miss out on pretty much all of them due to this factor (I'm already handicapped when it comes to attending special events - finales typically start around 6pm on Sunday for me, for instance. But I digress). If the frequency IS completely random rather than unweighted, well, good for me but it means the typical player is going to miss out on a LOT of opportunities due to work, sleep, and other commitments.
Going beyond this, this seems quite casual-player unfriendly - the statement that 'players have got to be in the game forever' sets off major alarm bells in my mind. Guild Wars is supposed to be a game you can pick up and put down, not a second life to an even greater extent than WoW. The idea of a game where you somehow have to be present 24/7 in order to avoid missing out on things seems to be anathema to me. I'm hoping that that extreme position is not actually what you're suggesting, and it's just that you're excitement over the idea that makes it seem that way... but it DOES seem that way to my reading.
One workable solution is to have the events last over, say, a week - this would mean that someone who works at a particular time or who is visiting family or friends over a weekend is probably still going to be able to get involved, while still encouraging people not to abandon the game for months at a time and to get together as a community every so often. Alternatively (and this is probably easier for the devs) the events could be repeated at random intervals, but frequently enough that missing one isn't the end of the world. (Which is sounding like something that's already in ANet's sights with the bridge-destroying dragon example in the PCGamer article.) 150.203.19.61 05:52, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Bout ur signposts[edit]
You're placing a lot of signpost on the signposts page that aren't actual signposts :3 For example the henchie banner, you can't select it, and it doesnt point you to anything, so it isnt a real signpost, so better to remove em for now. You can leave em at the render project page though. Magamdy 07:59, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
- Can't find talk on your page, so I have to reply to you here, signposts are posts bearing informations ... i am not sure why you think signpost should point to anything. Maybe the page name should be change to Directional posts instead of Signposts. A signpost does not have to be interactive to be a signpost as long as it bears information for the players, tells them what something is, or what territory they are entering. BTW, Henchmen banners are signposts telling people that those are henchmen?? How is it not a signpost? Pumpkin pie 09:44, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
- Becuase they belong more in the category static objects than signposts, the page says it (interactive objects), but i don't rlly care that much so whateva. There are some other singposts in ascalon city u could render, directing you to "merhcants quarter', you know. (you couln't find my talk?) -- Magamdy 14:36, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
- Already got those, I actually purposely run around the maps just to look for signpost and have taken many screenshots, but I am not interested in doing any right now. Besides most sign post aren't an Interactive Object, cos they don't interact like a lever does. Nope, still can't find your talk page, very sorry for thatPumpkin pie 13:01, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
