Superior Death Magic[edit]

Arcihves 31, 31.5, and 32 are good reads. — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 13:54, 15 Nov 2011 (UTC)

As funny as it is to watch you and all the others make asshats of yourselves, for future reference, any argument not based on mathematics or empirical results should consist of no more than thirty-five words. Anything longer than that is pandering and/or bullshit. Unless you're trying to be obstructive, in which case go right ahead. –Jette 15:51, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
P.S. you spelled "archive" wrong on page 32.

What are you paying for the Ægis and the Harbinger? 88.152.25.23 11:24, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
Whatever market price is! Except for the aegis, apparently, since someone loves me. :3 — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 20:47, 21 Nov 2011 (UTC)
I saw prices between 20 and 30e. Occasionally 40e. So you figure out how to please me .. financially. 88.152.25.23 02:19, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
Well, decide how much you want, and I'll pay that much. Of course, it'll be in zkeys and not ectos, since all my finance comes from PvP. I hope that's okay! — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 9:44, 22 Nov 2011 (UTC)

I live in Texas, but I work nights (I'm gone from 1600 to 0300). I'm usually easiest to catch either immediately before or after those hours.
IGNs are Raine Nito, Raine Clove, Raine Takewa, Raine Tissues, Raine Tzu Sun, Raine Arwyn, Raine Leraje, Raine Lilith, Raine Ennui, Raine Glee, Raine Retro, and Communing What (to be deleted; PvP), but NOT Raine Valen, as some douchenozzle already had that. — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 9:43, 22 Nov 2011 (UTC)

Modifying Discussion Pages[edit]

Please be careful when modifying and formatting discussion pages. Your need to format the most recent Game Updates discussion page (Feedback_talk:Game_updates/20120123) established a miscommunication between a comment I'd made previous to your reformat to a reader at a later time. Please review GWW:TALK for policies regarding modifying discussion pages. Thank you. -- Magic User Magic Icon.jpg Talk 07:10, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

"It is acceptable to edit existing comments to clean up formatting for readability; for example, closing an unclosed tag that is affecting subsequent comments, scaling down large images, removing the leading space character (which encloses text in a dashed box and prevents text wrapping), or modifying the indentation (which should be indicated using (Reset indent) )."
It's common use (i.e. policy) to denote a response to a comment by intending once more than the comment to which one is replying; the way your comment was threaded did not make sense, to me, so I'd assumed that it was a case of mistaken indentation (which is very, very common). My apologies. — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 1:51, 26 Jan 2012 (UTC)

  1. Chaotic Neutral. Is anyone really surprised? — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 18:40, 3 Feb 2012 (UTC)
Dunno, I could see you as CG. -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png 22:22, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
I maintain that the alignment system is fundamentally stupid, and any game that attempts to implement a morality system or karma meter is overreaching its purpose and divulging into pseudointellectualism. I got Chaotic Evil, unsurprisingly, but this is a poor representation of my personality – by incorporating a third axis to the alignment system (Nice / Neutral / Asshole) I get the more accurate "Chaotic Neutral Asshole." –Jette 02:41, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
The alignment system is a necessarily limited tool, but it's still a helpful one. If you want to use a third axis, that's up to you, but the masses don't like it, so it's not official. (Besides, there's bigger issues than yours - I know you're not going to watch Code Geass just because I told you to, but maybe you remember the Star Wars prequels, which did a [much worse] job of bringing up the conflict of "evil for the greater good".) -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png 02:50, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

nerd 24.130.140.36 04:04, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
The third axis wouldn't be necessary if Wizards would give the original grid the proper wording: lawful vs. chaotic denotes conformity to standards, traditions, and a personal code of conduct; or a lack thereof. Good versus evil denotes compassion, empathy, a concern for others, and a desire for greater societal good above one's own desires; or a callous disregard for the rights and feelings of others and a penchant for self-interest. By those defintions I'd probably qualify as chaotic evil without question, but I think "the chaotic evil villain who leads a clan of greenskins to pillage hamlets" is a touch unbecoming. SGML, XML, and HTML are evil, by the way, as is any comment format derived thereof. –Jette 06:03, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
Wizards sure loves false dichotomies, huh? Koda User Koda Kumi Horns1.GIF 10:31, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
Neutral Good. Well... --Boro 10px‎ 15:13, 19 February 2012 (UTC)

custom variable skills[edit]

How do you expect to check for them online? I think it adds quite a substantial network traffic to change all the flags and numeric variables on the main servers, and if you do it locally, all it takes is one single "hacked" gw client to the game to go boom... --Boro 10px‎ 14:51, 19 February 2012 (UTC)

In most games, that's not a huge deal. The GW engine is kinda silly, but obviously none of the changes will go live, so it's ok. -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png 17:57, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
In offline games the skills themselves can be easily monitored by the game logic and as you said it's not a big deal: Healthy communities actively shun cheating if the game is generally well-balanced. In gw it might actually be possible to monitor this well, but you'd have to load the custom skill data into a cache similar to where the attributes are stored, which would take up quite some space. I'm actually a fan of making spells up on the go (it is the essence of wizardry after all), and I might even implement such a system someday. --Boro 10px‎ 21:44, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
Wait, what're you talking about? Oh. — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 22:01, 19 Feb 2012 (UTC)
Well, I don't think they ought to be variable mid-match (or, at least, not beyond small tweaks, e.g. "Our spikes aren't going through; can you put some extra damage on your Fireball?"), so the issue isn't much tougher than loading, say, everyone's unique armor into a cache. — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 22:05, 19 Feb 2012 (UTC)

You're so mean![edit]

I thought we shared the same passionate hatred towards bspike and that you wouldn't mind giving up your shrine (I thought we reached a mutual agreement when we aftertimed your Stone Sheathe ele and PBlock mesmer [who never landed a single PBlock on me due to half-cast & cancel casts ^_^]) to help everyone's favourite ByoB guild to win Hallz with randomway under the support of the greatest monk in game. I felt very betrayed and heartbroken that this was not so. PS: we rolled everyone, every single round by running randomway by lack of ego (apart from Mundo's excited trolling after every match), willingness to listen and common sense that is missing among the 2012 HA folk. (apart from Hallz probably due to Mundo's trolling and every team's resentment towards us leading to inevitable loss in 3-way matches) so in the end I am quite happy to have r3->r4 in one day. tldr; please don't hate [wawr] :) PSS: Shameless self-worship video that you might be interested in [1] (that rawr mesmer was less predictable :[). Love, ZencowUser Ox rider Sig.png 09:44, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

It's 1080p. Not 1080px; the 1080 (or 720, or 480) represents the number of horizontal pixels. The p stands for progressive scanning, as opposed to an i, which would stand for interlaced scanning. -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png 05:06, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
I see! I've always thought it re-sized the video and the number was the diagonal width of the screen [like how you measure the screen sizes of plasma TVs expect with pixels rather than inches (^_^)]... Thanks for the enlightenment :) ZencowUser Ox rider Sig.png 07:48, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
