(Discussion)

Quite simply, this is an idea for how the playability of each race would be unique. First of all, each of the races that we know are very different in the way the priorities professions. For example,Humans would be balanced, Asurans would definitely favor the spell caster classes and the Norns would be likely to play as a melee or ranged combat class. This is not discounting what people may play as in GW2, but the characteristics shown throughout GW1 of each of the main races. As for the Key differences, the would be things such as how effectively armored the race makes each of there professions, or whether the race is able to give the player added energy regeneration through its armors (for example Asuran warriors, however unlikely you are to find one, could have 70 base armor and 3 pips of energy regeneration, and there spell casters would be able to have extra energy regeneration as well.) or simply just natural talent of the races (Asuran with hammer, silly and not very intimidating, Asuran with daggers, yikes!!!)

A list of good ideas for such key differences would be:

Health gain per lvl, max armor rating, energy regeneration, insignias, and so on.

Why this is a good idea
  •   Makes different professions of different races unique and hopefully, all worth using
  •   creates much more variety without having to add a large amount of new professions, allowing things to be quite a bit simpler while still being complex enough to create many strategies (i'm thinking GvGs here)
Why it may not work out
  •   Balance issues may arise from seemingly innocuous changes
  •   Seriously, who came up with the whole "humans are the balanced race idea", its so cheesy (a little bit of self criticism for putting that idea in this suggestion ;-P )
