siren caller(Discussion)

(As a bit of insight to the name Siren Caller, think warning sirens to alert people of danger. This could also be called sentinel, with the risk of sounding to much like a warrior, or a Standard/Flag Bearer. Just some thoughts)

The Siren Caller is an advanced warning sentinel, able to keep the party from being ambushed or trapped by the patrols of enemy groups, or in other words, controlling aggro and enemy movement. The job of a siren caller in the land of Tyria would be to warn of incoming attacking raids or to warn its enemies of impending doom (as in, attack us and we are ready to mercilessly slaughter you). This could effect combat by making enemies very cautious and unable to move to attack you at full speed or power.

This class would be mid line and would wield a standard ( or a flag with an insignia on it for those who don't know). The standard would be a two handed weapon that can be swung or can stab at large ranges and its attack rate would be slow but effective at distracting (daze, interrupt, and so on). They would have 70 armor rating and 4 pips of energy regen.

Basically a siren caller would deal AoE damage and also be able to damage or effect enemies within you line of sight of the target. The main types of skills would be sirens, which would effect an area over an amount of time (somewhat like wards and wells, but they always have the same radius as opposed to sirens which can be larger, smaller, or even grow and shrink in size.

sirens would, in addition to start up costs, would cost energy regen like maintaining enchantments, and last the amount of time the skill lasts. the center of effect stays where you first cast it, like spirits, wards and wells. Whispers could cause a change in behavior of the target such as forced movement, conditions, or buffs.

some examples for attributes could include but not limited to:

  • Standard Bearer: increases your effectiveness while wielding standards (flags)
  • Warning: Increases your ability to effectively control your enemies mobility by setting up sirens (as warnings or to strike fear into enemies (Justification purposes)
  • focus: increases your ability to defend yourself and attack your enemies through physical/ magical means
