Notes[edit]

  • Gargoyles are generally more fragile than other foes of the same level, as their armor against most damage is only about 2*level while other foes' armor ratings are closer to 3*level.
    • Gargoyles in Kryta and a few gargoyles in pre-Searing Ascalon are resistant to cold damage with a 40 armor rating bonus. In post-Searing Ascalon, they are resistant against lightning damage instead.
      • In Hard Mode the Krytan Gargoyles have a cold damage resistance bonus of 15 armor rating.

Trivia[edit]

  • Gargoyles are sculptures, most often carved in stone, that can be found on roofs, usually with the purpose of hiding a spout designed to convey water away from the building. They are usually built ugly and frightening, as this was believed to ward off evil. The name comes from the French "gargouille", itself derivated from the latin "gurgulio", "gula", "gargula" (meaning "gullet" or "throat").
  • In Guild Wars 2, they are said to have mysteriously disappeared without a trace in 1185 AE, though Lead story designer at the time Matthew Medina admitted having no particular explanation in mind when he decided this fate.
