Mind Freeze Mind Freeze (Elementalist - Water Magic) by User:Yoshida Keiji.

Background[edit]

It was written until today that this skill required micro-management.

Testing phase[edit]

Battledepths with Whirling Wisps, area not suitable for testing. Neither Depths of Tyria level 1 with Icy Stalagmite (Equinox). Level 2 and 3 were fine.

Glyph of Lesser Energy has influence (and probably needs to be addressed in a separate page). When blocked, AI uses Mind Freeze more often; but...difficult energy management (maybe replace a spell for a hex to rise Glowing Ice chances).

With Water Magic 12 damages are: Maelstrom (22x10), Vapor Blade (111), Mind Freeze (50+50), Icy Prism (54) and Glowing Ice (41). My observation was that Mind Freeze was always left to last due to the low damage compared to other skills. Except in level 3 where the hero behaved completely different. It was actually spamming the elite more often and like crazy.

My first note would be the typical AI inconvenience when Glyph of Lesser Energy is in the build too. That is...bad for this elite, but not for the elementalist. I would say that the AI will favor the elite as long as the character using it has more energy than the target... which is kinda awkward... as anyone would tend to slowly deplete it.

Result[edit]

The note was removed as this proves that the statement was incorrect.
