Talk:Zaishen Elite (mission)
From Guild Wars Wiki
With the creation of this page, I'd suggest adjusting the Areas of the Battle Isles similar to the Zaishen Chalenge:
[link to mission (link to outpost)]
Information about the NPC's is already on Zaishen_Elite_(outpost). I'd reserve this page for information and tips for the battles themselves.
Also, add the "Areas of the Battle Isles" overview. Otherwise - great idea of adding this page! 193.190.253.145 17:02, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- I was looking for it, and it gave me a broken link... So I started working on it :). I'm not sure how to do all these, things, but when I have some time, I'll try. Alaris 18:56, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Faction Cap
You can earn up to 6,000 faction per day from the Zaishen Elite. Faction earned in other simulated PvP (e.g. Zaishen Challenge, training areas) will be deducted from the early rounds. -- I just fought here and could only gain 4k faction before being capped. I also checked and wasn't able to gain faction from the Zaishen Challenge afterwards either, despite not having fought them today. Can anyone offer insight onto precisely how this works? Rho 11:54, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- The way I understand it is that if you start a new day without any faction gained, you can gain up to 6k in elite or 2k in challenge. If you do challenge first, you won't gain points in elite until you surpass what you gained in challenge. If you start in elite and get more than 2k, then you won't get points in challenge. I have no idea why you could not gain more than 4k faction... The counters reset 24 hours after being filled.
- I've been doing these for a while. I was getting 2k in the challenge. Then I decided to do the elite instead, and I was getting 6k per day. I never really tried going back & forth, and I never really combined with other PvP activities. --

- Weird. Possibly it's been changed recently? I was definitely limited to just 4k, having done no other faction-gaining activities today. More research needed, I guess. Rho 15:09, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- i tested it, didnt go into any of the simulated areas for 72 hours, then did zaishen elite with heroes, managed a 23 consecutive win and earned EXACTLY 6000 76.26.189.65 08:37, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- 23 consecutive wins? I'd appreciate if you could post build, I'd like to use'em. Thx. --

- Probably a trapper build or something, I was using the fast cast nuker + water snare from PvX and got 20, ended tragically with 11 trappers. 11 Trappers = I lose. >:O! Ended up with 6,087. Either I reached the limit or I just got pwnd, either way I don't want to get to the high-teens just to get a f--Ʀєʟʟɑ 22:50, 29 April 2008 (UTC)ew more faction.
- I have a feeling that the cap is the following:

(Reset indent) I got 6k faction with 25 consecutive wins, so I'd say that is right. You can see about the builds here. —- It takes only 16 consecutive wins to gain 6000 faction, if you flawless almost each round. Sjeng 05:38, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Tie
In the event that you tie (i.e. you and the AI team die within second(s) of eachother), the message displayed is "This Guild Battle ended prematurely" and something like "There was no winner." It seems kinda tough to get this to happen exactly, but I can try to if we need screenies.70.110.199.144 23:34, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Notes
it says on the page: If you die with 2,000 faction or more, the first few wins will not yield any faction. This is not entirely correct. A few questions:
1: when you start with the normal zaishen challenge, which has a 2k cap, and you stop before you reach the full 2k (7 times flawless = 7x270 = 1890 faction), and go to the zaishen elite afterwards, you WILL get faction right away in the first round, but ONLY up to 2k (i.e. you get +110 faction in the 1st round). This would mean the first round will not give you faction over 2k.
2: I'm not sure how the faction cap behaves per round. It would seem like the first round will not raise your daily gained faction over 2k. that much is clear. But I do not know for sure how much you can then gain per round. We tried doing the elite, and when we got to about 5000+ gained faction, we got disconnected and had to restart. It took us 5 or 6 rounds (I think it was 6) before we got faction again.
3: When we started a new run this morning, my gf gained faction, but I did not. This was very strange, as we both hadn't done the challenge or anything else to gain faction since we both did the challenge the day before. So why did she gain faction, and not I? Later that day, when I did gain faction, we could both finish it. It seems the reset clock is a bit bugged... I thought it was 24 hours, but apparently this is not always the case...
Insights are welcome! Sjeng 15:59, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
- Yesterday my girlfriend and I did another zaishen run. We started at the regular zaishen challenge, and did 4 rounds, 260 faction each, totalling 1040 faction. We next did the Elite challenge.
- I started out with 4k faction, knowing that 6k is the cap each 24 hours. My gf had 3k faction on her bar when we started. So we played the elite challenge untill I maxed my bar, but she gained faction beyond 9k, meaning that she was getting over 6k that run. We went on untill she too had her bar filled, at which point we both couldn't gain anymore faction abyway, so we stopped. We both didn't do the zaishen challenges the day before, but that shouldn't matter. Makes me wonder if we could have gotten more if we had started with zero faction... Strange things! Sjeng

[edit] Bug?
In the D'Alessio Arena a member of the opposing team often appears outside their gate before the battle begins. This is really annoying. Any ideas as to how to get this fixed? A couple of screenshots: 1 & 2. Sardaukar 15:32, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- I've noticed this occur when you are in the later rounds of battle. Presumably there are too many enemy NPCs in their starting area and some spawn outside. It can be a problem with ranger traps as one enemy will set them all off before the main group arrives. Ghosst

[edit] Removed images
Hey I just removed the images because they were making the page go wonky. If anyone knows how to fix it, feel free. :) (Terra Xin 01:52, 22 March 2009 (UTC))
- I dont see any Problems on the Page with the Images in there --SilentStorm

- The "wonky"ness was in all likelihood due to the {{cleanup}} tag placed in the middle of the article, I've reverted your change, but moved the tag to the top of the article content, this makes the images look ok now (and frankly makes the cleanup info box standout) --BramStoker (talk, contribs) 00:33, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- If "wonky"ness refer to all those [edit] tags below "notes" section (when they should be above "mission information" section, actually almost at the top of the page, above description itself), you can "force" a new line by putting a {{clear}} below the images; but that would make the whole page go below the pictures (leaving a big wall of empty space), so I would not suggest it. :P --NIN37 04:55, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Rather odd
If you go in with three henchmen and you die, they will remain alive. However, if you go in with three heroes and you die, they will die instantly and the round will be over. Why is that? I think I will make a note on the main page of this, and someone can change it if they want to. FloppyJoe 19:27, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
- My note can probably be removed, since the update removed the ability to play with heroes in ZE or ZC. If it was not intentional, and is fixed in the future, the note can be re-added. FloppyJoe 05:31, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Iziuh of the Zaishen
Anyone see this guy? He's no documented, and shows up with the warrior teams.--
anguard 15:29, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
- None of the IWAY members have pages, I think. They all have the same skills and model, the IWAY team page covers them all. --Aldarik 15:42, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
Random Triva for ya, Iziuh is my tag name for most games it's a misspelling of Isaiah and also where "Izzy" came from a lot of my friends couldn't pronounce Iziuh so they just started calling me Izzy, I made fun of my bad spelling by misspelling Isaiah with Iziuh back in my magic the gathering days and it's always stuck with me. When Curtis first made these NPC's he wanted to mock me for making the IWAY build and arguably ruining Tombs so he named one after Iziuh it's pretty obscure but it drives me batty every time I see it.
