Rosalind Redhame is an officer in the guild Guardians of the Cosmos [GotC]. We chat on the web at GotC Forums.

I got Guild Wars for Christmas in 2005. I had been playing first person shooters, and at first, played GW solo for a long time. Eventually I was recruited into a guild with great name: Children of a Doomed Generation. In retrospect, they were pretty disorganized. When they broke up, I was very lucky to meet the leader of House of Leaves [HeL], which was a very fun guild. Months later, however, they became inactive. Miss Draxis, a guildie in [HeL], convinced me to join the Lords of the Moon. The Moon guild taught me a lot about PvP, but by August 2006, it too became inactive. (The ex-leader of Moon remains active with his new guild, Theatre of Pain [PAIN])

I was wondering where to go next, when Miss Draxis heard from an old friend, Thomass The Tank. His guild's original leadership had just rage quit. They made Thomass the leader on their way out, and he decided to try and rebuild that guild, The Guardians of the Cosmos. GotC was small and not very active in those days. But slowly, it got bigger. Eventually, Miss Draxis became the guild leader, and I grew into an officer. We've been able to grow steadily and remain a friendly place to play. GotC is now active, strong and stable. We lead a Kurzick alliance. I've been with GotC longer now than all the other guilds put together, and I'm in it for the duration.

I racked up almost as much XP in the first half of 2008 as I did in 2 years of play. This is because my PvE style changed. I used to do quests and missions almost exclusively. But, with the slow down in new releases, I'd finished everything. So I began doing a lot more solo farming. This has paid off in title track progress, gold and experience. But if more quests were released, I'd pause farming to play them all.
