The GW team is taking a summer break

and a well deserved one i think, after all they've done this year. Dont expect a big update any time soon. Get it out of your mind that they are working hard on the Dervish update or on Gw2 because they are NOT.

Here are some facts for you: Nobody likes to be working/studying in August, even kids have summer vacation in August. The Gw and Gw2 team are on summer vacation, as everyone should be(that includes you).

The Gw2 videos of Ele/Warr/Ranger do not take more than 15 mins each to make and all 8 classes, their combos, their synergies are all ready to be revealed...but only in due time to keep you on your toes. Dont believe it? Think about it...How long would it take you to make a video of yourself in GW casting Meteor Shower or a few Barrages on Mantid Drones in normal mode using a program like Fraps? This is how long it takes for them to make those preview videos, and upload them. It does seem like a big thing because its new and youre eager for it, but really, theres only this much to it. What else have they been doing during the past month? Taking a well deserved break from WORK. If you think it takes 5 weeks to make a video of yourself shooting something with Barrage, your sense of time is bad...

There are only 2 people working as Dev team right now, and they are taking shifts only to check that servers do not crash and do something in case they crash. Regina has been out of office since May4. She might answer once or twice, as much as anybody would answer their emails...She will be back in September, once summer is over. They are still thinking of possible solutions for the Dervish update, or new ideas on Gw2, but lets face it: where would you prefer to be to get new ideas? Lying down on the beach in swimsuit with a coconut beside you or stuck in an office without air con in a sweaty shirt? You think best when you're relaxed, k? Ideas are coming, but they have yet to starting WORKing on them.

Go outside and enjoy the weather just like the GW team. Afterall, who would stay inside playing GW when you can be out on the beach? Stop being losers and no lifers and get a tan at the pool or something. I left Gw 3 weeks ago but just came and saw a fake update. Still dont believe the Gw and Gw2 teams are on vacation? Ask yourself this: How come we havent gotten any real update for a month now, and omg its summer... Coincidence? I think not. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 173.32.190.24 (talk).

Um...just a preview of your life after high school/college - adults don't get summer breaks from jobs. We have to take vacations in the summer if we want off unless we have a work schedule that revolves around the school year, like teachers. Karate Jesus 01:48, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Well, I agree with the "stop complaining" part completely. However, writing and releasing the REGULAR blog updates on the Arenanet blog is probably more time consuming than you make it sound. Sure the videos are easy, but the writing has to be proof read and formatted... Then there are the cute little comics they like to include.

And don't forget they also have to complete this process for each of their (at least) three supported languages. Sure, many of the employees are on vacation, but there are still lots at work delivering delicious morsels of goodies.207.216.104.129 01:56, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

The only reason "summer vacation" exists is so that society can break it's people and mutilate their will with the revelation that the world hates you and is actually a lot worse once you're 18+ (unless you're last name is Rockefeller or something), and shock them into apathetic misery and submission, so that they fit nicely on the wage-slave shelf. Also from what I hear game development is a grueling and shittastic experience so I don't imagine adult game developers having such a luxury as a summer vacation.
