The Defenders of Aderon, founded in 2005, is a small, casual guild that focuses on PvE play. The guild thrives on teamwork, experience, and its members' willingness to lend each other a helping hand. It currently heads a tiny Kurzick alliance.
A part of the CurvedSpace gaming community, the Defenders of Aderon was originally formed as an extension of the RuneScape clan SeeD, with roots dating back to 2001. SeeD — a member-led "everything" clan of peacekeepers — was fueled by its open-recruitment policy, as one of the first clans to allow all comers; by its desire for self-sufficiency and help for one another; by its disdain of scammers, hackers, and other rulebreakers; and by its appreciation of randomness and insanity. While the Defenders of Aderon quickly grew into a distinct entity from SeeD, it kept these elements at its core.
The guild has grown more quiet over the years, with most members having finished all they would like to finish of the original Guild Wars. Accordingly, DoA re-formed in Guild Wars 2 on its release. Still, new members are always welcome, whether you're a new player looking for help or an experienced player looking for a friendly, laid-back atmosphere.

Aside from a basic level of maturity, there are no requirements for membership. Everyone is welcome! Invites may be requested either on the forum (still monitored, despite its quiet appearance) or in-game, and one will be sent as soon as possible.

Trivia
- The guild's cape was chosen by a vote of the Defenders of Aderon's earliest members, and pays tribute to the guild's origin in SeeD. The blue background references the clan's uniform in RuneScape, a simple blue cape. The silver tiger is an approximation of SeeD's "griever" emblem, taken (like its name) from the game Final Fantasy VIII.
- The idea was once proposed to redesign the cape, but no new designs were submitted and members requested overwhelmingly to leave it unchanged.
- Aderon is a kingdom in the former CurvedSpace roleplaying game DarkStorm.
