Response to the nomination[edit]
Why even care if people just sign? It's as good as an acception. - J.P.Talk 21:21, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
- Im Glad defiant is running. The wiki needs someone like him in a role with some authority. --Burning Freebies 08:50, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
- You don't consider sysop a position of authority? :/ – Emmett 14:49, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
- Once again, I don't think Burning Freebies is understanding the role of Bureaucrat very well, since the only "authority" they have is during Arb Comms, which are few and far between. Keep trying Freebies.. one day you'll get it it. -- Wyn talk 17:03, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
- Honestly, Bureaucrat is a "do-nothing" job for the most part. But some people feel the need to suggest, discuss, or vote upon things that they have little understanding of. I don't blame Freebies, though, Bureaucrat voting and such is given such (okay, not really) importance, that it's easy to have misconceptions of the role of this position. Ryuu - talk 17:15, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
- @J.P.: Because people sign whether or not they accept or decline, so it's not a clear answer. -- Lacky 23:22, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
- "But some people feel the need to suggest, discuss, or vote upon things that they have little understanding of." Hooray for democracy. — μαφλεσ 14:37, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

- @Wyn-Its gonna be a long time before i understand it, probably. --Burning Freebies 13:38, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- Until then you can stay out of these discussions. tbh it's not even that hard to grasp, just don't go support for everyone and wish everyone good luck. It's not about authority, leadership or people helping you with your userpage. You can be friendly and suck dick on their talk pages instead. --Cursed Angel 17:20, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
Pretty much everyone has some authority on this wiki, so everyone except BF is wrong. Pika Fan 13:43, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- Please, you dont need to stand up to Cursed Angel, he is just an annoying fool. And, to be fair, Bureaucrats revoke and appoint sysops based on RFA's, and use sysop powers when "no normal sysop is available". Yes, this time i actually read the article. So i am right in saying they have authority, just as sysops have authority over us. --Burning Freebies 19:17, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- The point is, DE is already a sysop and therefore already has 'authority' over us- supporting him in the election because you want him to have authority doesn't make a whole lot of sense. – Emmett 23:03, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- Not really. Just because arbcomms don't happen often, doesn't make them any less unimportant. Giving him a say in the arbcomm will technically give him more authority, even if people wish to argue the authority is "little".Pika Fan 04:36, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

- Anyway, its not about techincal stuff, its about whether he is good enough for the job, which i believe he is.--Burning Freebies 13:23, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
A statement from the candidate[edit]
DE: Please give us a summary of your out-look on things. The alternate is to scour your contributions list, and I frankly am too depressed at the moment to do an effective job of it. Besides, it will give you a chance to show off your 'people skills'. --Max 2 02:27, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Wikis are hard. -Auron 02:59, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yep, all of those speeches should cover everything anyone should ask. Maybe we should pull out Lacky's questions for the others. --Burning Freebies 09:07, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- My questions? -- Lacky 06:43, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- You know, those question you asked everyone at the election last time. --Burning Freebies 15:27, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- He copied those questions from someone else. :/ – Emmett 15:37, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- I wonder who he copied them from..... Misery 16:26, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
